Additional observations St. Peter Prince of the Apostles is a parish of the Diocese of Fresno. The first Mass was celebrated in the Lemoore community in private homes in 1909; the first church was built in 1912. The current church opened in 2011. The new church is an attractive structure, with stained glass windows that date back more than 100 years, oak pews and a dome over the center of the church. There is also a Holy Family Chapel with items from the previous St. Peter Church, including stained glass windows, statues, altar and baptismal font.

Anyone want to wager how long until someone complains that no one drives to or through Lemoore?
And, no matter how faithful, that they don’t offer the Extraordinary Form of the Mass?
I don’t know how much of a fuss the Bishop of Fresno makes over the TLM. I attended a wedding at Lemoore with Fr. Moore that was offered Ad Orientem with Latin. Obviously not going to match the TLM by a longshot, but he’s trying.
The TLM is not permitted in parochial churches anymore. What you described is a legitimate celebration option for the post-conciliar Mass. The pre-conciliar Mass is no longer an option in parish churches. Vatican II decreed that the Mass at that time — what you call the TLM — should be reformed and replaced in the Roman Church. Then we got the Missal of 1970. Now we have the Third Edition of that Missal, which is the norm and the new form of the traditional Roman Rite.
I didn’t know Lemoore existed until reading this story. Are there any good churches in Long Beach?
Holy Innocents with Fr. Irving
Looks like they know how to build beautiful churches in that diocese. Unfortunately, I’ll never see it myself. I have to go to the local cookie-cutter, giant rectangular box church here in the Southland.
Do you mean the LA Cathedral? Haha.
So, Fr. Moore was sent to Le Moore named after Dr. Lovern Lee Moore who first made his home in what was western Tulare County —now the City of Lemoore—in April 1871. Moore or Less seems like an appropriate assignment.
Was Fr. Larry given a parish in Tu Lare?
Hey CCD, have you all ever done a story on the ST THERESE MISSION over in Tecopa, California? I just stumbled upon their website: https://www.sttheresemission.com/
The Novus Ordo is on life-support! TheTLM has always been here and will always be the True Mass of All Times!! Clowns, giant puppets, altar girls, lay lectors, hand holding, kiss of peace, improper attire, drums, guitars, pianos, felt banners, communion in the hand while standing, dancing girls in leotards, lesbian nuns in street clothes, Protestant music, Life Teen, perverted priests, the list can go on forever!!
Such a hilarious post. Pure comedy.
The Novus Ordo is pure comedy actually.
