Additional observations Sacred Heart Parish is a historic community, established in 1877 with 12 families. It was staffed by Spanish and Irish priests in its early days. It is a pretty old white wooden church in a residential neighborhood. It has a traditional altar, colorful stained glass, and beautiful artwork.

Sinful to celebrate the TLM on the sly. Parish churches should not be celebrating the TLM.
Bishop Garcia is aware of this. It’s online and in their bulletin. There’s nothing sly or secretive about that. Bishops are responsible for the Masses (and other Sacraments) in their dioceses. I don’t think Bishop Garcia is some right-wing tradie. He’s following the Pope’s advice to get with one’s sheep, some of whom flock to the TLM. Maybe these things don’t need to be micromanaged by some office in the Vatican. Maybe we should follow Pope Francis’s advice, “Who am I to judge?”
And, can you recognize the good things going on in this parish?
(Where most of their Masses are Novus Ordo.)
Right, comrade! By going to the TLM they run the risk of going to Heaven!
How about the up-front LGBT celebrations in parish churches; e.g., the funeral for the self-described Great W***e at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NY? Isn’t that sinful?
I love “bi-formalist” parishes.
They aren’t allowed. Read Traditionis Custodes. Bishops may not dispense from TC without the approval of the Holy See.
It’s a wonderful church and congregation that used to have extraordinarily beautiful TLMs in the Mission San Juan Bautista. It is a historical part of California and the TLM is so appropriate there.
The Latin Mass is the history and future of the Holy Roman Catholic Church; without it, belief in the Real Presence is diminished by degree, depriving souls of Sanctifying Grace necessary for salvation. To be in communion with Christ and His Gospel, one must believe in the Real Presence. Liturgies which diminish this belief are schismatic in that they promote a deemphasis of Eucharistic primacy..
