I don’t believe that handicapped parking space is ADA compliant. The driver’s side of a car opens right out to the planter and a curb where someone with poor balance or who has difficulty walking could easily trip because there isn’t enough room to stand or walk. Let’s get a lawyer to require that the planter be cleared, made level with the parking surface, and paved. Put yourself in the shoes of a handicapped person who drives to Mass and then has to step out of his car in that spot, trying to negotiate where to step, stand and walk so close to the curb and those plants. It’s not silly. After you have a stroke, you try getting in or out of your car when it’s parked there.
maybe they will read you comment and just use two spaces for it.
More ableist discrimination against the differently abled. Make getting from the parking spot to the church an obstacle course.
Rather than contacting a lawyer, might some start by contacting the pastor to see what accomodations can be made?
That would be the Christian way to handle this situation, at least to start the process of rectifying it. See 1 Corinthians 6:1-6.
Good grief, a full blown Novus Ordo joint complete with rocks, twig trees surrounding the supper table as Novus Ordonarians call it, calling themselves a “Catholic Eucharistic Community” whatever that means??? Again no TLM at this place but Spanish and bi-lingual not a problem.
Well, it took two days this story, Does it not matter that they have Perpetual Adoration, Respect Life, Rosary and Divine Mercy groups, Knights of Columbus, the Serra Club and more? Your first, standard and only comment is that they don’t have the TLM. More charity on your part would likely help the cause of maintaining and expanding access to the TLM. We need more “glad trads” than “mad trads.”
If the host was “consecrated” at a Novus Ordo Mass, I wouldn’t adore it.
What a lack of reverence for our crucified, risen and Eucharistic Lord. We should all reverence the presence of the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.
So you refuse to adore the Lord Jesus Christ?
I think she’s intimating that Novus Ordo consecrations are invalid, which would mean that it’s just bread. She put the word “consecrated” in scare quotes. She’s saying she wouldn’t adore mere bread. Some Trads think the NO Mass is invalid.
But it is not invalid so she or he is refusing to adore the Lord. To put consecrated in quotation marks in sacrilege. it is not that this person has not heard the truth. They have heard the Truth and rejected it just like 16th century Protestants.
1 Corinthians 11:29
The Body of Christ is also the Church.
This is serious grave mortal sin.
Please repent.
Are you the guy who used to run the website called “The Cafeteria is Closed”?
When they don’t call themselves a Catholic Church, you have to check and make sure they are not an independent parish. Some call themselves chapels. The closest SSPX chapel to me actually claims on their website to be in union with “Rome”. They can be really dishonest and sneaky.
Are any SSPX chapels “worth driving to”?
No.
There are, however, Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) and Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest parishes or oratories available, if you prefer the TLM.
Stay on the Ark, even when it’s smelly.
