Additional observations  St. Gerard was founded in 1952, with the first mass celebrated in the church in 1953.  The parish is dedicated to St. Gerard Majella, the patron of expectant mothers, difficult pregnancies, and childless couples.  The parish today has a strong pro-life focus.
