I believe that the TLM used to be celebrated in this church. In fact, I attended one when visiting my cousins in Cambria.
What has happened to it?
In case you haven’t heard, the TLM is no longer allowed to be celebrated in parish churches except by special permission of the Holy See.
Also, in case you haven’t heard, Vatican II mandated that the liturgy — at that time, the TLM — be reformed. So, by decree of Vatican II, the TLM is no longer the Roman Church’s adequate liturgical expression. As Pope Francis wrote in Traditionis Custodes, the liturgical rites promulgated after Vatican II are the unique expression of the Roman Rite, and all Roman Catholics are to be brought towards celebrating them instead of the TLM. The TLM is to be phased out.
The TLM used to be celebrated in all Catholic churches until 1970; in some places it was replaced even earlier with provisional vernacular reformed Masses that had the approval of Rome. What happened? Well, Vatican II for one thing.
According to Latin Mass Directory, it has been permanently discontinued.
Good priests, good community. I happened upon it duriing 4th of July and they had a freedom rosary, beautiful. Communion on the tongue is welcomed and they recently added a kneeler as well.
The patriotic rosary is a blasphemous desecration of the rosary. Readings from American founding documents are proclaimed as if they are holy writ.
