Additional observations This is a large parish of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, San Gabriel region. The majority of their Masses are in Spanish and the priests are Latino. It is a pious community, with a strong Eucharistic and Marian focus. The parish was established in 1946, one of the last established by Archbishop John Cantwell before his death the following year. It is the only Catholic church in Baldwin Park (the city is named for a landowner, “Lucky” Baldwin, who once owned 63,000 acres of the San Gabriel Valley).
Are there more banners? Asking for a friend.
i can endure banners
james martin s.j. and “Tucho”
not so much
Isn’t Baldwin Park a rough part of the Southland?
It’s right near Azusa
which has Everything,
from A to Z, in the USA.
so there’s that
A lot of churches in the archdiocese have strikingly similar designs. This church, for example, looks a lot like Our Lady of Refuge in Long Beach.
