Additional observations Clarkdale is an old mining town located about an hour and a half drive from Flagstaff. It is centrally located in town near the police department, city hall and Clarkdale Park. It is also one of three churches staffed by Fraternity of St. Peter priests, who celebrate Mass and the sacraments according to the liturgical books of 1962 and are in communion with Rome. It is a parish mission of Mater Misericordiae Church in Phoenix.
So very very nice to see this church and having the True Mass offered there for the people of this small town, God bless the F.S.S.P. for their good works to spread the TLM wherever the go. Pray for the F.S.S.P. that they continue to grow and pray for their MANY MANY YOUNG priests in the seminary in Denton Nebraska these men will save the Holy Church and the True Mass of All Times.
Yes, “Janek.” Always remember that the FSSP was formed by St. JPII on the heels of the Abp. Lefebvre (SSPX) consecration of four bishops without formal Papal approval. The FSSP is a great organization but one wonders at the power of the Faith of the good Archbishop and what will happen to his stand for the True Faith and liturgy. The excommunications are lifted now, the SSPX has an historic seminary going up in Virginia, and the FSSP is thriving, too (as are other Traditional orders). Time to openly demand that full Catholic support be given to implementing Summorum Pontificum.
Congratulations to Clarkdale. How wonderful to have that church and the Mass in such a beautiful area. I will keep this church in mind for the next trip I make through northern Arizona.
I had the honour of attending Holy Mass there during my recent holiday in October/November 2017 and I can say without doubt that I have never heard such passion and commitment to the faith as I heard then. Thank you Father. You are an inspiration.
Considering a move back to the wider intermountain west area and Clarkdale is one possibility because of the daily availability of the Mass of Tradition. Does anybody know if there are families resident in Clarkdale with young children (that is important to us as we have 3 of our own and hopefully more).
I heard from an FSSP priest relocating from the East to handle the surge of activities in Phoenix that the Clarkdale traditional latin Mass might be no more soon. Is this true? I myself will be relocating to the Flagstaff area soon for work, I am hoping the Clarkdale TLM continues, it is about an hour closer.
