Additional observations St. Therese of Carmel is a parish of the Diocese of San Diego. It was established as St. William of York Church (now Therese of Carmel) in 1985 to serve families moving into Carmel Valley. On the south side of the church, between the church grounds and the 56/Ted Williams Freeway, there is a small cemetery with as many as a 100 people buried there between 1919 and 1980.
