Additional observations St. Francis Home is an assisted living home in the Diocese of Orange operated by traditional Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception, who wear the full habit. In 1926 the sisters fled persecution by the Mexican government. They opened the retirement community in 1944 and welcomed Mrs. Cook, their first elderly resident. Besides the typical activities of a secular retirement home, residents can attend Mass and Holy Hours and participate in prayer groups and Bible studies. The home has a traditional chapel with beautiful artwork. One of its central images is a statue of the Sacred Heart. In addition to the chapel, stroll the grounds and enjoy the religious images in the garden, such as Our Lady of Lourdes and the Sacred Heart fountain.
