Love the beautiful and holy picture of the young priest with the Rite of Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament!
Loved seeing Fr. Francis (Frank) Mann, a retired Brooklyn, NY priest, give the final benediction at the Presidential Inauguration— he did a wonderful job! I also enjoyed seeing his interview on Thursday evening, with Raymond Arroyo, on EWTN’s “World Over Live,” in which Fr. Mann explained all about how he got to know President Trump– through caring for his parents’ neglected grave, in a nearby cemetery! Fr. Mann had been out walking, one day, and happened to notice the Trump family grave, sadly neglected, in a cemetery around the corner from his church. So, Fr. Mann went out and bought a weed whacker, cleaned up the area around the Trump family’s sadly neglected grave, at the cemetery, and then went and bought lovely, decorative floral displays and other nice decor, to decorate the President’s parents and fsmily grave. I admire Fr. Mann for doing this! President Trump was very impressed and deeply touched by him. Fr. Mann also has written a wonderful children’s book, called “The Wounded Butterfly,” all about having compassion, love, respect and reverence for all in God’s Creation. Sounds beautiful! Many bookstores have this book, they said– and Amazon, too. Great for children’s Library Story Hour! Also liked Rev. Franklin Graham’s prayer, at the Inauguration. And Cdl. Dolan offered a nice prayer, too.
I thought Fr. Mann’s prayer was obsequious, not Catholic at all. Dolan did a better job of not kissing up.
To “not kissing up”– your vulgar reply is rude, insulting, and totally inappropriate. Read the whole, wonderful story behind this fine, retired priest being asked to give this excellent prayer, at the Presidential inauguration– a great privilege! This excellent retired priest was worried about our country and its future, and he invoked God’s blessings upon the new President and our fine country— a hope for the future! This is very serious. This has nothing to do with some juvenile, Godless creep hurling vulgar insults, saying a priest is ‘kissing up” or something. Our great Nation has been severely ravaged and torn to pieces, by the liberal Democrats, and has been in terrible shape. Our new President has been twice the target of assassins’ bullets. Very, very serious! Loved Fr. Mann’s quote from a campaign trail speech by President Trump, at the end of his excellent prayer: “Americans kneel to God and to God alone.” Fantastic! Some rude, Godless juveniles savagely criticized Cardinal Dolan’s prayer for not mentioning Christ’s Name enough. Very rude and immature.
1. Fr. Mann referred to the inauguration of Trump and Vance as a “sacred moment”. It wasn’t sacred at all; it was a secular moment.
2. He referred to it as a “pivotal moment in history”. That’s yet to be determined and is definitely sycophantic.
3. The remarks effusively praising Trump’s parents were over the top. He canonized Trump’s parents by claiming they are in heaven and asked them to “shield their son from all harm by their loving protection.” That’s not Catholic faith nor theology.
4. He referred to the inauguration day as “a miracle”, which it wasn’t.
5. He endorsed MAGA in his concluding remarks.
Most certainly an obsequious “prayer” that misused God in the service of a political ideology. Might even have been a violation of the second commandment.
Very impressed when Rev. Franklin Graham said, in his excellent Inaugural prayer, “We know that America can never be great again, if we turn our backs on You.”
To “Father Mann” — no, you have all of this wrong. Yes, the Presidential Inauguration is a “sacred monent,” a “pivotal moment in history,” and it is all being led, unseen, by Almighty God. God is our Champion, freeing America from the chains of Satanic evil and deadly Mortal Sin, and the ravages of the Death Culture– championed wrongly, by the Democratic Party and Biden Administration. Yes, the decessed parents of our U.S. President are vastly important! The Holy Souls in the next world can pray for us, and we must daily pray for them. Ask a good priest all anout this ancient Catholic teaching. You, too, should pray for your own parents and family members, who are deceased — the Holy Souls– and they, too, pray for and watch over you. Yes, this Presidential Inauguration Day is “a great miracle,” led unseen, by God– as the Republican Party is blessed to be full of some strong, Biblically-based Christian leadership– and our President and Vice-President, though they have in the past, believed in and committed grave sins– are interested, open, and willing to be taught, and to accept and follow, God’s Biblical Truths, and implement right, just, and Godly policies and laws– that is a miracle! Praise God! Pres. Trump started off on this excellent, right and Godly path, on Day One! Fabulous! Go to YouTube or EWTN– watch all the fine, Christian leaders at the Fri. 1/24/25 March for Life Rally, in our government, and many fine Christian lay leaders, give outstanding speeches– including our President and Vice President– you will be greatly impressed! We have a chance, now, to turn our country back to God. As Rev. Franklin Graham prayed, “We know that America can never be great again, if we turn our backs on You.” That is the one and only True “MAGA,” that I and millions of other Christian believers are working for. It is only in Christ, following His great teachings, that our country can ever be truly great.
I wonder how small churches in isolated rural areas like this will survive after the Boomers and their financial contributions have died off. The Church is going to have to learn to do more with much, much less. Like it or not, Boomers are keeping the Church afloat right now because they are the largest Mass-attending generation; younger generations have left the faith.
This doesn’t look at all like a dying, “Boomer” church of liberal, fake “Catholic” fools. Go to the church’s website, and find out more. This looks like a fine church, of a young group of dedicated Catholic families, led by a faithful young Catholic priest, with a serious, reverent Mass, and traditional religious devotions. They even all got together and started a classical curriculum-based parish school, with teaching nuns and daily Mass– with less than 20 kids, to start off– tremendous! That is the hope for the future, in our Church. Impressive!
You know, I have no respect for people who cannot be critical of Trump nor critical of Trump sycophants. And I voted for Trump. But get real. Trump did not come to earth from Olympus.
Trump is a flawed human being. But he is a hope for America, drenched in the Death Culture, extreme feminism and abortion “rights,” destruction of decent, common sense, Biblically-based (one man, one woman) Marriage and Family, DEI, LGBT agenda, gay “marriage,” gay adoptions, and gay “families,” Drag Queens and pornography legally forced in schools and children’s libraries, mandated LGBT lessons and activities for schoolchildren, transgenderism in the schools ruining girls’ sports, locker rooms, dorm rooms, and bathrooms, severe, anti-Christian bigotry, harming our churches, forcing Christians out of the medicsl field, teaching field, adoptions of children, etc. — with taxpayers’ money going to Planned Parenthood– and all other horrible sins. And our borders being wrongfully destroyed, tons of illegal aliens, including dangerous criminals and terrorists invading and destroying America. President Trump is a flawed man. We all know that. But we are unusually blessed, because he and VP Vance and the Republican Party are all open to respect for Christian teachings, common sense, and decency— open, listening, and following some of it– to restore America and bring us back to decency, common sense, integrity, morality and respect for God and religious faith. A slim hope– but we are blessed to have it, in this dark hour. Praise God! That is the whole point. In the future, America may not be so lucky. Trump, the man, is not who we voted for. We voted for a slim chance, a hope for America, in this dark and terrible hour. And the hope to someday put an end to the holocaust of incessant, bloody, unjust murders of dear, little unborn Americans, in their mothers’ wombs.
