The severity of the fires in California has prompted US President Joe Biden to cancel his planned trip to Italy, where he was due to meet the Pope today. In fact, a White House memo announced that Biden would remain in the United States “to focus in the coming days on managing the overall federal response” to the dramatic wildfires that are devastating the Los Angeles area, with several deaths already recorded and tens of thousands of people evacuated.
The fact that natural causes have prevented such a visit, however, does not detract from the seriousness of a papal audience – scheduled for 10 January – to the same Joe Biden for a final parade who, for the last four years, has been the world’s greatest promoter of the murder of innocents in the womb and their depravity through LGBT ideology….

Their need to publicly post such a thing makes me doubt the sincerity of their faith and their contentment and “joy”. They are doing it for show. The Lord warned against displays of religiosity for show. “Oh, our house burned down. Praise God! Bless Mary!” Yeah, right.
Maybe they are super-wealthy and have a second and third mansion somewhere else they’re not telling anyone about, so losing this home doesn’t mean much; no big deal, no big loss. Like losing a coffee mug when you have some spares in your cupboard.

No, “yeah, right.” This family is a deeply devout Catholic family. Not a secular, modernist, worldly-based family that happens to be Catholic, and attends Sunday Mass. The devout Catholic married couple who lost their home in the tragic fire, are good, faithful, humble, practicing Cathilics, who daily taught and formed their six children in the Catholic Faith, taught their musically-talented children to sing in four-part harmony, beautiful Catholic hymns, and led their six children in daily prayer, and taught them to consecrate themselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, daily reciting the beautiful Prayer of Consecration to Him.This poor Catholic family was overjoyed to see that their beloved statues of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Joseph were unharmed, though their poor, elderly parents lost their home, and everything they owned on this earth, in the tragic fire. So, they said their beloved Prayer of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus together, and sang the lovely, four-part harmony setting of the beloved Catholic hymn, “Regina Caeli,” taught to them as children, by their dear mother. Then, they decided to post it on the internet, to inspire and uplift other greatly suffering people’s hearts to God. That is exactly what true, faithful, devout, practicing Catholic families do. There are few of them left in today’s tragic, Godless world. This devout Catholic family’s beautiful, holy example, brought my heart to tears for them, and for all who are suffering, in the tragic LA fires. It also reminded me that no matter what tragedies may strike you in life– your faith in God is the most important thing. Christ and His Most Blessed Mother suffered much on earth, and they are ready to love, help, support, comfort, and nourish us all, in all of life’s tragedies, and teach us the truths of the holy Catholic Faith, and help us to walk on Christ’s often-difficult pathway, all through life.

No water in the hydrants, over 100 fire trucks out of commission, the resavoir for Pacific Palasades was empty for repairs which the fire fighters had no idea no thier fault at all! The unprecedented fire emergency that has engulfed Los Angeles is a dress rehearsal for “the Big One” (earthquake) that will come sooner or later. Except the Big One will also come with collapsed buildings, mass casualties and near-total communications breakdowns (dead cellphones, no internet and spotty or nonexistent TV and radio coverage).
Take heed, folks: The Big One will totally overwhelm first responders. You will be on your own for days or weeks. You will not be sheltered securely for months. Food will be scarce. Electrical and water lines won’t work. You will probably be laid off from your job. Crime will soar. The cavalry won’t be coming to help you. A $750 FEMA check won’t go far. California is going to become a developing nation in an apocalyptic scene. You’re getting a preview now.
Consider this fire to be a kick in the pants to get prepared or move away, if you haven’t already. I bet 95% of people are unprepared.
I’m not donating to rebuild someplace where I don’t live. How much money has our government wasted in Ukraine aid that should have been saved for something like this in our own country? Democrats think other people’s money is in endless supply to waste on their pet projects. Real leaders with wisdom would save for a rainy day or a wildfiery day instead of spending everything they collect in taxes and more besides on giveaways for their political friends. We as a country need to learn to live within our means, live below our means. Hopefully the new DOGE office will cut government waste and get us back on track.
California, you did this to yourself in these ways:
1. Building homes in well-known fire-prone hills and canyons without clearing the “pretty” trees and brush away
2. Failing to ensure adequate forest management in public lands with controlled burns
3. Failing to ensure sufficient water infrastructure
4. Failing to elect wise, competent leaders
5. Failing to prepare for this eventuality as part of an emergency preparedness plan

LA cut million from the fire department budget, Newsom cut $100 million from wild fire prevention spending while spending while CA spends $22 BILLION on benefits to illegal immigrants. I have no issue with the illegal immigrants as a person, I do have a problem with not trying to close the borders to make them come here legally, and I have a serious problem with spending BILLIONS on them for stuff I have to pay for myself.
That $100 million cut from fire prevention by LA and the state just cost LA 50% of its highest tax base. California is already $10 billion in the hole, this is going to bankrupt many of the citizens of California that weren’t even affected by the fire by the taxes needed to cover for the lost tax base. Many won’t have the funds to rebuild because of all of the massive regulations and environmental impact laws now in effect. Do the people of California realize what they’ve done to themselves at the ballot box? They’re going to find out relatively soon.
California is in for a world of financial hurt. The wildfires are going to destroy the real estate tax base. Incomes are going to decline, sales tax revenue will drop. Tax revenue is going to come in well under estimates for the year, and the state was already running a huge deficit.
Biden just awarded Pope Francis the Presidential Medal of Freedom with Distinction. With this month’s award recipients being a despicable bunch, that award now means nothing except you are the president’s friend. What a joke Biden’s presidency has been. Thank goodness Trump will save and redeem America.

The late President Jimmy Carter had many faux pas, turning his back ultimately, on basic Christian teachings of Pro Life and Christian (one man/one woman) Marriage. He also jeopardized his 1976 election win, by telling some filthy “Playboy” magazine reporter, that he was guilty of “committing adultery in his heart,” looking with lust at other women— sins for which Carter insisted that God readily forgives him. But he was deeply faithful to his beloved wife of 77 years, Rosalynn– the love of his life. Poor judgment, in both cases, of these two presidents– mentally weak, easily morally misled men, no true Christian convictions in either of them– poor presidential material, in these two Democrats. The LA mayor was just on warning looters about looting. Next to her was a person who was signing and making wild gesticulations warning deaf people not to go looting. Perhaps she should’ve had a Spanish translator instead.
Spanish— I have a much-younger cousin, near retirement age, now, in her 60s– who is a Professor at a large Calif. university, with specialties in helping deaf and other disabled people. She is a non-denominational Evangelical Christian, very active in her church for the Deaf, helping deaf and disabled parishioners In special programs. She has done this, lifelong, as her parents belonged to this church. She was a blessed “hearing child” of a deaf uncle of mine, who had a good education as a child in a School for the Deaf, and married a lovely deaf lady. Both are now gone from this world. My deaf uncle got a very good job in California, right after graduation from his school, and worked hard, and rose to be the head of the company. His hearing child received help from babyhood to learn to speak normally, and use Sign Language with her parents at home. Other family members also helped her. She was very smart, and soon learned to help her parents with communication on important matters, to help them at home. She could call people as needed, on the phone, or take phone calls– and help her father with everyday matters, and with business. She matured very early, is very good at public relations and communucation– and I have always admired her. The Deaf and other disabled people need lots of kindness, consideration and thoughtfulness, and to be included in all areas of life. I enjoy seeing several older men and middle-aged women with Guide Dogs who come to Mass. Some are greatly vision-impaired, and some are totally blind. The Pope is disabled, and uses a wheelchair. He, as well as everyone else– must be included in all areas of society. Information about public emergencies is extremely important, and the Deaf require a Sign Language interpreter, to properly receive all of this very important information.
Jesuit Fr. Robert Spitzer, S.J.,Ph D., is almost totally blind. You may have seen his interesting EWTN TV series, “Fr. Spitzer’s Universe.” Born in 1952, he was diagnosed with a serious genetic vision impairment that gradually caused him to lose his vision. In 1983, st age 31, his vision began to seriously deteriorate, and by age 57, in 2009, he became nearly totally blind. Fr. Spitzer is the co-founder and president of the Magis Center of Reason and Faith, in Garden Grove, CA. He also serves as president of several other Catholic organizations, and is a retired president of the Jesuit-run Gonzaga University, in Spokane, WA. He has written many excellent books. I greatly admire Fr. Spitzer! Hope there will never be any tragic wildfires in his area of CA. We should be extra-aware of disabled people, as well as the sick and injured, in situations that are extremely dangerous and catastrophic, like wildfires– to help them safely evacuate.
It’s a good thing that there is NO WAY that Russia/China/Iran/North Korea/ISIS… could have or would have infiltrated spies and saboteurs into the country amongst the millions of military age males that streamed in under Joe mentias nannies rule.
