From a sidewalk counselor at Planned Parenthood, First and Grape, downtown San Diego:

A 3rd couple (mom & daughter ~ early 20’s), pulled up in a new red Toyota pickup & parked there on the corner ~ 10 ft from where I was standing. I could see them talking inside with the young lady with her blanket in hand & starting to tear up but holding it back as she chatted with what turned out to be her mom.

I know the new City Ordinance rules say you can’t approach within 6 ft of a car unless you are invited, so once she looked over at me I used a little sign language to ask if I could come over & speak with her. She acknowledged & rolled the window down.

That led to a good 10-15min chat with both her & her mom, going over all the handouts and & with me pointing out that I know why she was there due to the blanket in hand etc.

Long story short – I asked if she was a Christian, a believer & she said yes, so I explained how this baby was a gift from God no matter what the situation was behind it, pointing out the 6th Commandment & that God/Jesus would not want you here doing this, that to trust in Jesus and he’ll get you through all this and to lean on all these PRC resources out there & that they’ll bend over backwards to help in so many ways…etc…

Her mom was totally for her keeping the baby and also helped encourage her to do so in this conversation.

After I ran out of ammo, I asked the mom to please just get her out of here….go to the PRC on 5th when they open or any one of them asap when they open at 9:00 and at least talk to them 1st before making any decisions. I said once you go in there (PP) they’ll convince you to go through with this as they are all about making the money & have no regard for you or your baby etc.

I asked her to focus not on the crisis situation now but to think ahead about birthdays, Christmas, family etc….
I asked her mom to please, “begging you” to just leave this wicked place & just get some help from one of the PRC’s….etc…

She finally smiled & agreed that was the best option and finally Mom said let’s go & off they went.

Well I was super happy they finally left but then started thinking “I just hope they don’t change their mind & come back”,…..(I have had discussions over the years that sometimes you think there’s a save only to find out they came back later in the day or the next). I was thinking about this when I kind of said a prayer asking that they don’t return as I’ll probably never really know, & it would be great to get some kind of confirmation they won’t come back……….
Holy smokes!, talk about icing on the cake,…..
……… within minutes of that prayer I just happened to turn & look at the intersection of 1st & Grape, & there was mom making a turn up Grape St. with her window down smiling & waving at me. I waved back with a big smile too. Then I thought, “wow Lord” that was a pretty quick answer to a prayer, I’m pretty sure that was a really good/ positive sign they won’t come back here…;-)
………no sooner than it takes to drive around the block, they pull up right where they had parked before, & the passenger door swings open the young gal jumps & and says “can I give you a hug”, I said “oh Yes, let me give you a hug”..;-)
She then thanked me and said “I was praying for a sign from God whether to go through with this abortion or not, and you were that sign to keep my baby! Then her mom yells out “thank you, thank you so much, you saved my grandchild, you saved my grandchild.”
With that she jumped back in their pickup & they drove off up the street.
