Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the wife of California Governor Gavin Newsom, had a lot to say to reporters during a Wednesday, February 11, press conference.

She and the Democratic governor, 58, were on hand to announce a bill he signed into law that will provide $90 million in funding for Planned Parenthood.

In a clip shared to X (formerly Twitter), Siebel Newsom, 51, is seen pushing her husband away from the podium — which says “Stopping Trump’s War on Women” — to address the room, which was said to be filled mostly with female reporters.

“We just find it incredulous that we have Planned Parenthood here, and women are 51 percent of the population, and the majority of the questions — all of these questions — have really been about other issues,” Siebel Newsom told reporters.

“It’s just fascinating,” she continued. “We have this incredible women’s caucus and all these allies, and you’re not asking about it. And this happens over and over and over and over again. You wonder why we have such a horrific war on women in this country and that these guys are getting away with it. Because you don’t seem to care.”

“So, I just offer that — with love,” Siebel Newsom concluded, with an uncomfortable laugh as the women behind her clapped. “You have incredible women in this room, and you have these allies. Ask about what we’re here for today. Don’t you think?”

According to Fox News, reporters were questioning Newsom on other topics, including his upcoming meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

NBC affiliate KCRA said that a reporter asked how the funding would be used, to which Planned Parenthood CEO Jodi Hicks replied that it will be used to backfill Medicaid funding that Congress cut.

Newsom then reportedly continued to take off-topic questions.

Following the event, Newsom wrote on X, “California won’t stand idly by while [President Donald] Trump and his lapdog Republicans use their ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ to virtually eliminate all federal Planned Parenthood funding.”

“I just signed legislation delivering $90 million to reproductive health care providers across our state,” he added.
