A car parked out front with a mom/dad & (16 yr old) daughter getting out to head into PP. We were able to get them to stop briefly & share material with them, but as mom/daughter headed in, the dad did give us an extra minute to talk to him about this place & encouraged him to contact a PRC 1st etc..
About this time ~9:45 as Pam was packing up to leave, the dad came back out to move the car up a slot as it had leftover time on the meter. We both took advantage of this to ask if we could chat a bit longer & he agreed after he moved his car.
We then told him about this place in more detail & said “we are not sure why you are here, don’t want to get nosy, but this place is all about abortions & they’ll separate you away from her & push your daughter into that decision for $$ if that’s what she’s here for?” etc…
He hung his head looking very sad & teared up a bit & said yeah, I don’t want her here nor does her “step mom.” It seemed as if she was being pressured from others in the family (not present) to “make her own decision.”
We then mentioned the crucifix he was wearing and asked if he was a Christian?, he said Catholic, & we said OK, you are a Christian, a believer in Jesus Christ, right? He said, well yes. So we talked about how Jesus wouldn’t want them at this place or his daughter being here etc….
This resonated with him & we asked him to be bold & go in there & get his daughter/wife out of there & leave this place asap. We told him this is the time to “man up” for your family & that the Holy Spirit will be with you & Jesus is walking in there right next to you. This seemed to embolden him, & he went back in as we prayed.
Pam had to leave at that point but a Prayer warrior from yesterday, Deirdre, had arrived to pray. (She said she felt an urging to come back & pray today.) Another 40 Days for Life prayer warrior, Victoria, also arrived to pray.
Well, about 10-15 mins later, all three family members came back out and walked to their car out front. You could tell how depressed, scared & confused the daughter, Analee, was; we shared photos of the 12-week-old baby fetus & other pics as the baby develops & that is her son/daughter she is carrying etc… and talked about how much help there is out there, that she had a good family that will support her etc…
At this time several of the other family members showed up with one young lady in particular (I think her cousin? – early 20’s) put her arms around her & whispered “we’ll support you no matter what you decide, it’s your body, your choice.”
I was not more than a maybe a foot & half from Annalee & heard this….So I opened up with both barrels & said, “hey what about your baby’s choice in this matter, doesn’t he or she have a say in all this? You’re talking about human life here. This Your Choice lie is right from the pit of hell. I don’t remember what all I said but I think after her “cousin” tried/repeated the same lie a few times she backed off.
I then focused on her dad & mom who wanted her to keep this child etc…..I then asked them all to focus on the future with the joy they would have holding that child & all the fun holidays; & family time together, that things will change for the better….& how much she & all of them would regret having an abortion & what scar it would leave on them the rest of their lives etc……
So through all this Annalee was holding back tears but then looked over at mom/dad & seemed to be more calm now & so they all decided to leave this place. I keep encouraging dad & mom to please get out of this place & call one of the PRC numbers pointing out several again along with a Birthline pamphlet as well….
Finally the three of them got in their car looking more relieved knowing their daughter had made the decision to keep the baby. Deirdre said later she overheard one of the other relatives (not directly involved) happily say “she’s keeping the baby.”
