A modern day reenactment of the Way of the Cross held Good Friday in southern Mexico drew criticism in local media for its depiction of militant feminists beating Christ, who had fallen to the ground.
The ceremony was organized and broadcast on Facebook by Life Online Oficial, an evangelization platform with ties to Saint Joseph’s parish in Ciudad Pemex, Mexico, which is under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Tabasco.
Life Online Oficial members describe themselves as “young Catholics” who are interested in “talking about many topics that help us to be better and to grow in our faith, duly informing us about topics of interest in the light of the Church’s magisterium.”
In the portrayal of the Eighth Station, the narrator says: “2021 years ago, the Savior encountered a group of women in the streets of Jerusalem weeping for Him. Today, 2021 years later, the Lord returns to meet very different women than those he consoled.”
“Women, trapped in a group that is irrational, demanding rights based on insults, destroying everything in their path, fighting for feminism and the dignity of women, when they don’t even conduct themselves in a dignified manner,” the narration continues.
“Violent women, leaving a trail of vandalism. Women who enter the churches to desecrate the Eucharist, to mock the Virgin Mary.”
The portrayal alludes to the frequent incidents in Latin America of radical feminists tagging churches with pro-abortion graffiti.

These young Mexican Catholics have a point.
I wouldn’t have conducted a Stations of the Cross this way, yet, as the Pope says, “Who am I to judge?”
“Who am I to judge?”
[Eyes rolling off my face . . . all the way to the floor.]
very well written. pope john paul ll had many applied and updated stations during his papacy. i would love to have a copy of all the stations from this gifted author
That’s kind of hilarious, especially the way the radical feminists are so triggered. If they knew there was nothing to it, they wouldn’t have been so up tight about the whole deal. Provocation isn’t what a Passion Play is all about, but as astute observations by our youth go, they hit it out of the park. Gives me hope for Mexico.
All are welcome. Sing a new church.
No one would get triggered if there was not some essence of truth in the satire!
Militant Feminists prove once again that they are more fragile than even white people.
Feminists should be women who love being female and all that entails. Which includes motherhood. Once again the demonic has stolen a word and changed it meaning.
I would not like to see this kind of Stations of the Cross– too shocking, too violent–
Except– I have always felt exactly the same way as these wonderful Mexican young people, about the feminists–feminists are ignorant, savage women, who viciously attack and beat up Our Blessed Lord. Feminism, to me, is Satanic.
I believe in Christ’s beautiful, transforming empowerment and Divine Love, of women who follow and adore Our Lord.
Clipped hair, mean faced feminists are natural enemies of Christ …so I can see why this was done
I would offer him my veil. Women need to veil again in honor of the Sacred Eucharist — Christ on the altar.
