A Wyoming bill to ban abortions that recognizes unborn babies’ right to life starting from conception has become law.
Lawmakers in both the House and Senate approved the Human Right Act (House Bill 152) earlier this month and Governor Mark Gordon allowed the measure to become law.
Sponsored by state Rep. Rachel Rodriguez-Williams, R-Cody, the bill would protect unborn babies by prohibiting all elective abortions in Wyoming and creating penalties for abortionists who violate the law.
“[A]ll members of the human race are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, the foremost of which is the right to life,” the bill states.
Wyoming already has a law that bans abortions, but a judge blocked it last year. Rodriguez-Williams’s bill would go further than the current ban by protecting all unborn babies, including those conceived in rape and incest. Her bill also clearly states that the ban does not include abortions when the mother’s life is at risk, or miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy care.
At the same time, Wyoming has become the first state to specifically ban abortion pills after Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon signed a bill late Friday to prohibit them.
SBA Pro-Life America’s Western Regional Director Adam Schwend told LifeNews his group is elated at both measures becoming law.
“We thank Gov. Gordon for signing SF 109 to prohibit dangerous abortion drugs that can cause hemorrhaging, the need for surgery and even death. According to Medicaid data, the rate of chemical abortion-related ER visits have increased 500% since mifepristone was approved. Wyoming’s new law will limit the abortion industry’s ability to jeopardize the health and safety of women and girls,” he said. “The new chemical abortion law, along with the Human Life Protection Act and extending postpartum Medicaid coverage, make Wyoming one of the most pro-life states in the country.”
The measure addresses the issues that have tied up Wyoming’s trigger law in litigation and would protect life immediately.
“Instead of being health care, abortion is the intentional termination of the life of an unborn baby. It is within the authority of the state of Wyoming to determine reasonable and necessary restrictions upon abortion, including its prohibition,” the bill states, pointing to language in the state constitution.
Wyoming leaders currently are fighting in court to enforce the trigger law, which went into effect only briefly after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June.
In August, a judge blocked enforcement of the law, agreeing with pro-abortion groups that the abortion ban may cause irreparable harm to pregnant mothers and abortionists.

This is wonderful news! Hopefully, someday, abortion will be illegal, nationally and internationally. Carrying a baby to term for only nine months, is a responsibility of all pregnant women. A child has the right to life, and a right to responsible pregnancy and birth. It should be mandatory– and no problem at all– for any woman, to carry a child to term, responsibly. And next, place the baby for adoption, if the woman cannot care for the infant. Normal, natural pregnancy and childbirth, ordained by God, should be no problem at all — nothing for any demented, over-reactive, hardened feminist to get angry over. It is simply a responsibility. Every child deserves the right to life. There should be no question about that.
In a recently-submitted comment regarding the tragic case of New Jersey mother and School Board member, Angela Reading, reported to the local Chief of Police and other law enforcement agencies as a terrorist for her concern over her second-grade daughter’s school, indoctrinating the kids into LGBT sexuality and related sexual filth — I noted that the one who made the terrorist reports about Angela, to police and law enforcement– was a Lt.Col. at a nearby military base, misusing his authority. Actually, I have read several different news stories about this, some saying the instigator was Major Christopher Schilling of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (near Trenton, NJ), the only tri-service military base in the U.S. DoD, that includes units from all six branches of the military. And other news stories say that Schilling is a Lt.Col. Or else, Schilling recently got promoted. I also read, in one news story, that infuriated New Jersey parents are demanding that Lt.Col. Christopher Schilling resign at once– that news story also referred to him as a Lt.Col.
Well, whatever military rank he currently has — he is a horrific bully, who needs to be stopped.
I see that my original comment was not printed. Anyway, Angela Reading, a NJ mom and school Board member, went to her 7-year-old daughter’s school for Math Night– and found the whole school full of LGBT posters and propaganda, and children’s artwork and stories related to the LGBT propaganda! Angela’s daughter pointed to a poster, and asked her mom what the word “pansexual” meant– and the mother was extremely upset! She notified her mothers’ group on Facebook. Pretty soon, the military officer– Maj. or Lt.Col. Christopher Schilling– saw Angela’s Facebook notice, and flagged Angela as a “terrorist,” and reported her to the local Chief of Police and other law enforcement agencies– and they all started a big campaign
to threaten “Angela the terrorist,” and try to force her off the School Board. Angela now has a legal battle, and the Thomas More Society is representing her case in court. I signed a petition in support of her. Hope she wins!
Newsom is not going to like this . . . As we know, he now claims veto authority over the legislation of other states and governors. Creative take on federalism!
Yesterday, March 20th, I got an email from the California Family Council, asking us all to please call State Sen. Scott Wiener, regarding the vote today, Tues. March 21st, on SB58– a bill to legalize all kinds of psychedelic drugs, for recreational use. That man, Scott Wiener, belongs in the nuthouse— not in an important position of political leadership! He sure does love to support dangers to society, wrong-doing, sin and crime. Not an ounce of common sense! He and Gov. Gavin Newsom are both immoral, sordid liberal-leftists, morally and intellectually very weak men, extremely poor political leaders. Waiting to hear the results of this terrible– and preposterous!– bill. A great danger to a society falling to pieces in crime and sin, with hundreds of thousands of drug-related deaths each year. Wyoming sounds like a much better state.
And, all the Catholic colleges in this state are prolife!
OK, there’s only Wyoming Catholic College, but it’s solidly Catholic.
Nothing like Santa Clara U. that graduates those promoting baby killing, like our “Jesuit formed” governor.
