Parishioners, friends and members of the local community will gather on Monday, May 29 at 11 a.m. in celebration as Bishop Jaime Soto presides at the dedication Mass and blessing of the new Holy Family Church and parish facilities in Weed.
Holy Family has been without a church building since Sept. 15, 2014, when a grass fire broke out near Boles Creek just east of the town in Siskiyou County. The fire flattened Holy Family Church and its parish hall at 1051 North Davis Ave.
Holy Family Parish soon after began plans for construction of the 15,000-square-foot building that includes a new main church, chapel, kitchen, classrooms, offices and parish hall.
The modern and elegant design of the new structure accommodates the present day needs of the parish and offers state of the art sustainable, building systems performance and energy efficiency.
Seventy to 100 parishioners served on more than 30 committees to assist in the plans, preparations and details for the church interior and dedication, says Father Joshy Mathew, CMI parochial administrator since February 2014.

Well to me this looks like a really pretty church on the outside. Most likely the inside is just as attractive and traditional for a newer church.
