The following comes from a Dec. 17 email sent to Cal Catholic by a reader from Pomona.
Please read the attached document from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
This latest attempt to ‘recast’ and redefine the evil of Roe v. Wade and to dissuade the faithful from holding pro-abortion lawmakers accountable is but another example of a great evil and moral relativism masquerading as Catholic doctrine.
The pretense is that ‘One Life’ LA is a gathering of all pro-life individuals in Southern California. The accompanying document shows it is in fact a ‘wholly-controlled’ superimposition on a group, a deliberate instruction to “change the subject” regarding the government’s sponsorship of abortion killing centers in every California community.
P.S. I strongly recommend that any pro-life individuals look to California ProLife Council, a non-sectarian organization for where candidates stand on Life, or to any of a number of Protestant publications or organizations, as many of these still do see the real significance of Roe when it comes to the law.
From the OneLife LA invitation:
On January 17, 2015, thousands of pro-life supporters will gather in Downtown Los Angeles for OneLife LA. OneLife LA is the first-ever, large-scale event in Southern California that unites communities and inspires positive action promoting the beauty and dignity of all human life from conception to natural death. OneLife LA will begin with a walk from the birthplace of the City of Los Angeles, La Placita Olvera, to Grand Park for a day of entertainment, food, and most importantly inspirational testimonies. We are working together with several religious and community organizations from Fresno to San Diego to address the overall devaluing of life across our culture and inspire action on all fronts be it human trafficking, abortion, suicide, capital punishment, euthanasia, homelessness and so much more. As one of the sponsors of OneLife LA, we at the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, believe every single life is immeasurably valuable, and each person, coming together as one, can make a difference.
This is where you come in. We want to highlight the important life-affirming work of your organization while providing participants a unique opportunity to take action for life, not only on the day of the event, but throughout the year. Let’s work together to educate and inspire attendees as well as provide concrete opportunities to be involved in your cause!
We consider you to be an organization on the cutting edge of culture transformation, and therefore would like to invite you to apply to be a community partner. OneLife LA in 2015. Here’s the catch: we have limited openings, and rather than give them out on a first-come, first-serve basis, we would like to partner with the organizations most dedicated to the mission of this event.
What We Are Looking For:
Service Project – Must present at least one direct service project that individuals or groups can participate in. Cannot be a fundraising project. Present us with a game plan for your booth. Tell us what you’ll have on display and provide a clear plan for engaging attendees to be involved with your service project.
Booth Blueprint
Presentable Online and Offline Media Materials Work devoted to dignity of Life

What is the concern here? That the focus is not nagative against RvW? Is RvW the only articulation of the problem? Didn’t the problem exist before RvW, in the hearts of men? What is contrary to Catholoic doctrine expressed in this letter promoting event exhibitors? Is the concern the cost to exhibit? If that’s it the concern is terribly misplaced as exhibiting at events like Catholic marketing events is even more expensive. Some one please explain the concern.
Fr. Gonzalez should be made the next bishop of Los Angeles so that this restoration may continue in all the churches of the archdiocese. Beyond the beauty of this building, he is a great and faithful priest for the future of our Holy Catholic Church. But, read the original article because there are many more fotos; better yet, go there so you can see the stunning coffered ceiling.
That is a lot of $$ for a 10′ X 10′ space. It would chill any organization running on shoestring donations, no matter how much good they do.
Yes, because human trafficking, abortion, suicide, capital punishment, euthanasia, homelessness are really all about entertainment and food booths.
One doesn’t need to look very far for examples of people who are outraged and who protest what they perceive as injustice. By-and-large, Catholics are NOT outraged about these issues; these events are just used as a political means to placate the masses. Events like this delude people into thinking that by eating a hot dog, they’ve “made a difference” and that they can continue to peacefully wallow in their apathy and inaction.
Watch EWTN’s coverage of the upcoming Marches of Life. Start counting on your fingers how many times Teresa Tomeo says the word “fun”. I guarantee you’ll run out of fingers in the first fifteen minutes.
The ‘poster gyrl’ for Abortuaries was Norma McCorvey (aka Jane Roe)…
Although Norma has publicly recanted the Lies she was Coaxed by Misandrist Attorneys in to making before the US Senate – which eventually led to the USSC ‘Roe v. Wade’ case that has caused so much death and suffering.
> The following is Norma McCovery’s January 21 testimony given to the Senate Subcommittee on the Constitution, Federalism and Property Rights.

“The affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court didn’t happen the way I said it did, pure and simple.
I lied! Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffey (Attorneys) needed an extreme case to make their client look pitiable. Rape seemed to be the ticket.
What made rape even worse? A gang rape!
It all started out as a little lie, but my little lie grew and became more horrible with each telling.
Not only did I lie, but I was lied to. I did not come to the Supreme Court on behalf of a class of women. I wasn’t pursuing any legal remedy for my unwanted pregnancy. I did not go to the federal courts for relief. I met with Sarah Weddington to find out how I could obtain an abortion.
She and Linda Coffey said they didn’t know where to get one. Sarah already had an abortion but she lied to me just like I lied to her! She knew where to get one, obviously, but I was of no use to her unless I was pregnant.
I saw procedure rooms where sanitation and hygiene were after-thoughts…”
Abortion is the greatest evil we still confront in our country. The other issues that One Life LA promotes are valid Christian principles, but NOT the appropriate time to take people away from the issue of abortion and hold politicians accountable. In reference to booths, they can be open to those issues related to respect to life… but I wonder then why they are denying a For Marriage booth? One wonders, what their purpose of this Walk is, since life should be promoted ONLY in the Marriage state, which is attacked presently.
