In the wake of the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and various states enacting pro-life legislation, the Biden administration has pushed hard to increase the number of abortions being committed throughout the country. As part of that effort, the FDA in January changed its rules to allow chemical abortion pills such as Mifepristone to be sold in major brick-and-mortar pharmacies.
So far, CVS, Walgreens and Rite-Aid – three of the top five largest pharmacy chains in the United States – have taken steps to provide abortion-inducing drugs in their stores. The development has created a dilemma for pro-life Americans who currently have an active prescription with one of these three pharmacies and now wish to move it elsewhere.
Here is a list of major pharmacy chains that, as of April 1, 2023, do not offer Mifepristone or other abortion-inducing drugs.

How to Transfer Your Prescription
If you currently have a prescription in CVS, Walgreens, or Rite-Aid, and you would like to change it to one of the pharmacies listed above, do not fear! The process is simple and straightforward, and most of the work is done on the pharmacy’s side.
The website GoodRx Health outlines three steps to make the change.
1. Call or go to the pharmacy to which you wish to move your prescription.
2. Provide your personal information (full name, date of birth, contact information, prescription, and medical information) to the new pharmacy.
3. Wait for the transfer to be completed (allow up to 3 days).
Additionally, you should provide your doctor’s office with the new pharmacy information as soon as possible.
Story from Catholic Vote via LifeNews.
Today, Mon. April 10th, the DOJ filed an emergency stay motion with the Fifth Circuit Court, seeking to block Friday’s order by a Texas federal judge, striking down FDA approval of the abortion pill. The Texas federal judge had previously given a pause of seven days on the order, to give the DOJ time to appeal. Within hours of the Texas federal judge’s decision, a similar court in Washington State, in a case of 17 Democratic-led states and the District of Columbia, ruled that the FDA be prohibited from changing the availability of the abortion pill. In these kinds of conflicts, the Supreme Court typically steps in. The order of the Texas federal judge will go into effect at midnight (CDT) Sat. April 15th, unless either the Fifth Cicuit Court or Supreme Court freezes it in the interim.
My prayers each day, are for Respect for all Life– especially the lives of the helpless unborn– and respect for Traditional (Man-Woman) Marriage and Family, respect for Motherhood and Fatherhood, respect for the Virtue of Chastity for all who are dating, and for the abolition of abortion and birth control. May the evil abortion pill soon be banned in America– and internationally!
This court decision will further split the Republican Party, and if you view republicans as essential to the long term success to rid us of abortion, that is bad news.
Republicans are hugely supporters of the pharma industry, and in return pharma shovels megabucks at republicans. No more. Pharma cannot survive if they have courts having long term veto power over pharmaceutical approvals.
2024 may end up being a sea change in American politics and this is just one reason.
A follower of Christ belongs solely to Him, to do His work in the world. We can only vote for those in conformity with Christ’s teachings– not for anyone who believes in and promotes Satanic corruption, sin, and evil. Above all, we must never cast a vote for anyone who promotes the sin of the murder of unborn children. All of the Pro Life lawmakers and Pro Life state Governors and AGs, who are also fighting to outlaw the abortion pill — are Republicans. Every single one. They are all unified in their Pro Life beliefs, not split, as you say. Biden and his diabolically corrupt Democrats are trying to force big pharma and the evil abortion pill, nationwide.
This is not the teaching of the Church, although I think it is in line with Catholic values. The Church cannot tell people who they can and can’t vote for.
Dear reply. It is a fallacy, as our Holy Fathers including Benedict have pointed out, to think we can find a single political party or even a single candidate in every race who conforms perfectly to Christs teaching. Catholics are not asked to disassociate themselves from candidates who support the right of a woman to make the moral choice for or against abortion, despite what you say.
The Church tells people they must vote according to Catholic teaching. For example, you must not vote for an anti-Semitic dictator like Hitler, who plans to kill all the Jews and others whom he considers “undesirable.” You must always stand for Christ! Even if called to die for Him! That is our Christian responsibility, lifelong. In today’s world, we must never vote for Pro Abortion or Pro Same-Sex “Marriage” candidates. Or School Board and Library Board members, who believe in Drag Queen Shows and LGBT and gender theory indoctrination, and dirty pornographic books for the children. Voting is a responsibility. We must do all things in life, big or small things, for the Glory of God.
When Pope Benedict was growing up in Germany, his parents taught him that Hitler was wrong. Pope Benedict, Joseph Ratzinger, had a cousin who had Down Syndrome, which Hitler also deemed “unfit to live,” just like the Jews. The Ratzinger family was heartbroken, when they found out that this young cousin was taken out of his home and sent to be “exterminated,” by Hitler’s evil Nazi troops.
YFC, there is no moral choice for abortion.
I think you need to read what the Church ACTUALLY teaches instead of what you imagine she teaches.
To the person who questioned my use of the phrase “moral choice for or against abortion”, I could have been clearer. I didn’t mean to imply that one could morally choose to have an abortion, but rather that the choice for or against abortion belongs in the realm of moral decision making.
YFC, there is simply no instance in present-day America when a Democrat is preferable to a Republican. The Catholic moral choice for voting is always to prefer a R over a D. That doesn’t mean the R candidates are all that great, but they are always preferable to a D candidate.
Look around. D cities and states are failing miserably, never mind the support of Ds for abortion, trans, gay, etc.
Prices differ between pharmacies. Be sure to check if you have a limited budget for drugs.
Be sure to shop always with a good Moral Conscience. That is our responsibility to Our Lord Jesus.
According to news reports today, Gov. Gavin Newsom has changed his mind on threats to sever ties with Walgreen’s, over issues regarding the abortion pill. Walgreen’s stated that it cannot sell the abortion pill in 21 states, where it is illegal to do so. Apparently, Newsom respects the intent of Walgreen’s to be law-abiding.
Sorry but we are keeping our script where it is. Im in menopause and those people do what they want and you all are ditty bopping
Most of you dont work aND THOSE WHO DO DONT MAKE ANY MONEY . And most of you all nit pick . Those stores also sell rat poison and ‘IBut ;m not worried because they are in every house . Kids get into that ..
You don’t nitpick about those….. what up with that?
You have a big responsibility to God, to lead a good moral life, in accordance with Christ’s teachings. You must stand up always for the precious lives of unborn children. Yes, there are also groups of good people and lawmakers, who seek to responsibly outlaw poisons, including dangerous rat poison. A home is a responsibility. Your children and your pets– and you and your spouse, and all others– must be kept safe from poisons of all types.
Kroger is also in WI.
Why is Sam’s Club, which is a part of Walmart, not on the list, if Walmart is, unless it was figured “Walmart” encompasses all it owns.
