An anesthesiologist at UCLA Health in California who has not shied away from airing his suspicions about Covid-19 vaccines was escorted out of his workplace this week for refusing to get vaccinated in defiance of a statewide and employer mandate, according to local reports and a video posted on Twitter.
Dr. Christopher Rake is seen in a video appearing to record himself as another man escorts him out of the UCLA Medical Plaza in Westwood on Monday. “This is what happens when you stand up for freedom and when you show up to work, willing to work, despite being unvaccinated, and this is the price you have to pay sometimes,” Rake is heard saying in the video posted Tuesday by The Beverly Hills Courier staff writer Samuel Braslow. “But what they don’t realize is that I’m willing to lose everything — job, paycheck, freedom, even my life for this cause.” Rake concludes his video with a message for viewers: “Be well. United we stand, divided we fall.”
UCLA Health, which includes several hospitals in the Los Angeles region, requires all active employees working in-person to be vaccinated against Covid-19 or receive an exemption in accordance with University of California policy and a state public health order issued on Aug. 5. The order states all health care workers in California are required to have received their second shot of the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, by Sept. 30.
“Those out of compliance are subject to progressive discipline, including restricting access to work sites and being placed on leave,” a UCLA spokesperson said in a statement to McClatchy News. All UCLA Health employees are required to show records of vaccination or “laboratory evidence of immunity” for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B and Tdap.
As of Oct. 7, Rake’s profile remains active on the health system’s website. On Aug. 29, Rake attended an anti-vaccination rally in Santa Monica, according to the Los Angeles Times, and told an excited crowd that “they want to force a vaccination or medication or treatment into my body that I don’t want. So they’re telling me, ‘Take the jab or we take your job.’ And I’m here to say ‘no. That’s not OK.’”
UCLA took to Twitter two days later to respond: “These comments do not represent the views of UCLA Health. Unvaccinated people are more likely to contract Covid-19 & we encourage employees to be vaccinated. We adhere to the state public health order requiring health care workers to be vaccinated or undergo regular testing.”
Other UCLA faculty and staff have expressed their frustrations over Rake’s comments. “I think it’s mind boggling that a physician at a world-class institution would go to such a rally and use their name as a physician to directly contradict public health,” Dr. Anna Yap, an emergency medicine resident physician at UCLA, told the Daily Bruin, the university’s student newspaper.
The above comes from an Oct. 10 story in the Sacramento Bee.
Not only is he unwilling to be vaccinated, it appears he is unwilling to be tested. What is his problem with testing?
What does testing prove? Do results matter? His “problem” is that he is a clear, individual thinker, and probably knows more than you, or anyone else knows about the so-called “vaccine”. . Respect his decision. He doesn’t have to explain “why” he made the decision to anyone.
Fast forward to Australia:
Patent PROVES Vaxx is Obedience Training Platform

He has a medical degree. You’ve criticized antivaxxers by saying you’ll listen to them when they have a medical degree. What’s your reason for not listening to this doctor? Tell the truth. The vax is a ploy.
First I never said that secondly he also won’t even test for the virus. Quack doctors exist and he quacks like one.
So you commit the “no true Scotsman” fallacy. I get it. Face it, you only agree with those who agree with you.
The smartest people are suspicious about the fake vaccines.
Let me correct that for you: The most suspicious people are suspicious about the great vaccines.
This doctor is a hero and is a great example to those of us yet to be destroyed personally and professionally by vaccine loving tyrants.
Workers rights vs employer rights are still being worked out. He is the Mother Jones of UCLA Health.
Start go fund me pages for these two and anyone else who is singled out for this by the UC system. It’s the quacky Governor that the people did not have the guts to recall who is at fault with all this hypocrisy.
It looks like Dr. Rake is getting raked over the coals. Perhaps he has been exposed to too much radiation and his cognition has been affected? Such silliness.
Dr. Rake is right, and a courageous hero. We need many more like him to risk all for us and our children’s freedom and liberty now and in the future.
Experimental Vax, Testing false positives, what’s your problem fellow catholic? Rake MD joins the other thousands of MDs and Healthcare professionals who are heroes.. What’s your problem fellow catholic?
JCL I try to address serious concerns of people who address me directly, but it’s hard when you make a post filled with sentence fragments. No sentences. No logical arguments.
It is not an experimental vaccination. The Pfizer vaccine is fully approved, just as all the other vaccines that health care professionals and most students are required to take.
He has the option of being tested regularly, yet he seems to refuse. What is the argument against testing? Are there fetal cells in his nostrils? Honestly, I know that is facetious, but I don’t even understand what you are trying to say.
Is he just against rules in general? Maybe he ought to try showing up to class naked. Or without shoes. Or without a shirt. I bet he is in favor of those rules, just not the ones he likes. Maybe he should drive to work while drunk. Or without showering for a few weeks. Or wearing animal skins like a shaman. What do you think, would that make him a hero too?
Just another hissy fit from rainbow glass wearer YFC over abortion tainted vaccines and those who oppose them. Really, find another hobby. The man is a doctor, a medical professional who is sounding the alarm bell and all you can do is mock his effort and ask silly questions. We ignore you.
No, I don’t respect him. He is violating the rules of his own institution. And he seeks publicity for his non-compliance.
And the fact that he is supposedly opposed to the vaccine yet also opposes testing tells us that he has another motive.
And now I am NOT going to follow obediently to your crazy conspiracy theory website. Because I am a free and well thought out thinker. Unlike conspiracy followers.
