…In January 2012, a local pro-choice group called the Silver Ribbon Campaign to Trust Women sponsored banners with slogans including “U.S. Out of My Uterus.” An antiabortion group called Life Legal Defense Foundation demanded the city take them down, saying they shouldn’t have been issued permits because they weren’t advertising a particular event. The Department of Public Works said they were legit and left them up, though vandals removed some.
Now, it appears the shoe is on the other foot. Or the banner on the other lamp post? A group called Walk for Life West Coast, which is organizing its 10th annual antiabortion march in San Francisco on January 25, has placed 50 banners along Market Street reading “Abortion hurts women.” They will be flying for about a month.
The Silver Ribbon Campaign to Trust Women wrote a letter to Mayor Ed Lee this week saying the banners contain “a false and hateful statement” and demanded they be removed….
A spokesman for Lee, said the mayor’s office won’t be getting involved in the banner brouhaha.
“Mayor Lee is a staunch, longtime defender of a woman’s right to choose and disagrees strongly with the message of the banners, but the mayor’s disapproval obviously doesn’t and shouldn’t trump the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.”

Tell the truth and they will hate you for it, but tell it anyway! Bravo to the good people of Walk for Life West Coast!!
Let’s see how long Mayor Lee can stand his mushy ground in support of First Amendment rights. Happy to know pro women banners will fly along Market Street.
“Free speech for me, but not for thee” the slogan of the abortion lobby.
One thing that bothers me most about the above article, and those of similar nature, is the un-ashamed bias they exhibit. I am sure many of you too noticed that those in favor of abortion are “pro” while those who favor life are “anti.” This is such a demonstrated living bias that those supporting life just let it continue without bringing attention to it. We, as equals to others who read, must without any shame or antagonism request with dignified respect, an equal unbiased article if such articles are to be printed. If we do not, nobody else will, which will allow the media to continue publishing its pathetic rendition of what news is and who are the pro/con of the important issues of the day.
Alan, thank you for your thoughtful post. It takes much effort in today’s politicly correct cultural climate to refuse to reverberate the language imposed onto us by un-Godly people. We need to reclaim decency in all things, beginning with our language! WORDS HAVE POWER! Satan knows this! For those who are not convinced, meditate on man’s fall in the Garden of Eden.
Amen!
Alan,
While I definitely agree with you, the sad truth is that they (the MSM) will ignore our valid complaints of bias!
May God have mercy on an amoral Amerika!
Viva Cristo Rey!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,

Thou shall not kill. – God
This city, San Francisco, is so evil, I can hardly believe it! The beliefs of all the “crackpots” here, for so many decades, is beyond belief!! Why is there no love for a helpless CHILD?? San Francisco’s people have been so desperately in need of prayers, as well as basic MORAL DECENCY– for many long years, now!! The so-called deviant, diabolic “City of Saint Francis,” is a DISASTER!! I laughed miserably, with family and friends, when it was announced that San Francisco was the so-called “city of love,” in the 1960s!! Big stupid JOKE!! How about the dumb “city of liberal, wayward businessmen, making lots of money off ignorant, deviant kids??” (About the same as Las Vegas, Nevada!) Well, anyway– it sounds like the pro-life movement, however, is making some great progress, which is wonderful!!
Linda Maria, As someone from Las Vegas, I somewhat agree. I want to see a
West Coast Walk for Life on the strip.
