Family Planning Associates, Miramar Rd. March 22, 2014
Today is Day 19 of the Spring 40 Days for Life campaign. Prayers were overflowing this morning at FPA, thanks to about 120 people from St. Anne’s who came out to pray for 40 Days for Life. Included in the group was a priest from St. Anne’s who led the Rosaries, the youth group, and a special little prayer warrior. This precious little girl is not quite six months old. You see, this is not the first time she has been here.
A little over a year ago she came here in cab…inside her birth-mother’s womb. There were prayers coming from people praying on the sidewalk for 40 Days for Life at the time, including some who were here again this morning. With prayers, the help of sidewalk counselors, Culture of Life Family Services, and the courage and charity of her birth-mom, this baby was given life last year, and brought here this morning by her adoptive mother for prayers and thanks.
This morning through God’s grace and the prayers of everyone here, at least two couples turned around and left. The parking lot was unusually empty, so there may have been others who were moved to not enter the parking lot. One couple was given information by a counselor but did not want to talk. After going in, they came back out a short while later, and the woman said she was not going to have the abortion. Another couple did not speak to the counselors, but came out a short while after going in, and then left. A counselor spoke to another women who was in tears, saying she did not want to go in, but her husband was pressuring her to have the abortion. She thought she was about five weeks along. She came out about 45 minutes later, and told the counselor with much relief, that her pregnancy test turned out negative. Thanks be to God, she was spared the agony and grief of being pushed into having an abortion.

Friday Morning, March 21 – a young lady about 17-19 went into the clinic with her mother before the sidewalk counselors arrived. When they came out, Culture of Life Family Services info was offered to the mom, and the counselors asked her to consider taking her daughter to a better clinic if she needed care. The mother was interested, and as the counselors stood there, the daughter openly began to share that she had come that morning expecting to be able to receive RU-486 (the abortion pill).
When she had her ultrasound, they told her she was too far along for the medication to be given, and that she needed the surgical procedure instead. She said she could not go through with it. She then, very happily, showed the counselors the ultrasound picture of her 10-12-week-old baby. The counselors told them to consider the loving and caring staff at COLFS if they needed any assistance. She reported that the staff inside Planned Parenthood was rude. The mother and daughter walked away happily arm in arm and waved excitedly as they drove out of the clinic.
Please continue to pray for all of these women, at all of the abortion centers in San Diego. And please continue to support the 40 Days for Life campaign by coming out to pray.
