The following comes from a Dec. 12 story on Independent Women’s Forum.
After grabbing a Slurpee and hot dog, 7-Eleven patrons may pick up some government-sponsored healthcare messages, too. The Administration just announced a partnership that allows them to promote ObamaCare on sales receipts.
Building on partnerships with shopping malls and other hot spots for the young and uninsured, the Department of Health and Human Services announced a partnership with PayNearMe, an electronic payment processing system that allows businesses to process cash payments for those who don’t have access to banks. 7-Eleven is one such store that will now allow PayNearMe receipts to include a plug for healthcare.gov at the bottom of receipts.
During this open enrollment season, we’ve seen the Administration take a different approach to marketing ObamaCare that relies more on partnerships than big, splashy and expensive PR campaigns.
The Washington Post reports:
Starting today, and until the end of the open enrollment period for insurance under the Affordable Care Act, PayNearMe receipts printed at all 7,800 7-Eleven stores in the United States will direct payers to HealthCare.gov.
HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell demonstrated the system at a 7-Eleven in downtown Washington on Thursday in a small press event attended by Sunnyvale-based PayNearMe chief executive Danny Shader.
The partnership is an effort to reach potential customers where they already are, Burwell said.
“We know that the populations we’re trying to reach, many of the uninsured are those who . . . are unbanked,” Burwell said. “Those are the people that PayNearMe reaches. We want to try and reach those populations.”
HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell has been open about the challenge the Administration faces this open enrollment season which ends this month for those who desire ObamaCare coverage starting January 1. Enrollment efforts sputtered off to a slow start.

BIG BROTHER is watching YOU !
The government wants to control everything you do.
Reread fictional: Orwell’s “1984”.
Liberals know best :(
You stole my thunder……
Obamacare is immoral. It needs to be scraped;
and those truly in need who want insurance, and those with pre-existing conditions who want insurance should be added to MedicAID.
Leave the rest of us alone.
Once the government controls your healthcare, they will control your life. The government will ultimately make health and life and death decisions for you.
Those Diocese and CSR groups who are promoting Obamacare due to their “government grants” should be ashamed of themselves.
Grants to USCCB organizations to achieve government goals need to stop immediately.
Jesus never taught us to assist those in need by partnering with any government.
Sorry, should have been CRS – Catholic Relief Services (not typo CSR.)
If the Pope wants to reform something he should start a commission on Catholic Organizations taking money from any Government – for services rendered.
We must never partner with anyone who promotes any violation of the Catholic Faith for any reason.
“On the Service of Charity”.

FYI – Carolyn Woo the head of CRS receives approx. $ 1/2 MILLION in compensation each year.
Did Jesus teach this ?
Carl Anderson, The Lawyer head of the Knights of Columbus, as of 2013 received well over 2 MILLION per year! Oh! such love of the Faith that pays so highly!
PLEASE PASS THIS ON, especially if you are a Knight or a Knight’s spouse!

Without knowing specifics of either Ms Woo or CRS, $500,000 may very well be the ‘market rate’ for a professionally qualified Chief Executive. The old saying ‘One gets what one pays for’. After all, head football coaches at MAJOR COLLEGES make $5 million or more. Teachers seldom top $60,000, if that. Go figure.
FYI Didn’t Jesus teach that the worker [male and female] is entitled to their fair wage?
Mike Magee, I do not remember Jesus saying anything about just wage. Please provide the Bible verse so I can check it out.
A just wage is not for luxuries but for the necessities of life, based upon the work done.
Approx $500,000 is overpayment of wages. As appropriate Woo also has an expense account which is not part of her wages.
If she wants a secular job, she is welcome to it.
She is leading CRS away from the Church by accepting Government Grants to do the governments jobs. She raises no money herself, since she gets her money from Grants and Diocese donations.
The good things done by the CRS is overshadowed by her extravagance. I watched her give the CRS report to the last USCCB Conference and she had nothing of substance to state about the CRS itself only partnering with others.
She is not worth the money. Even the Pope does not make as much as she does.
OBAMACARE WILL IMPLODE!!!! Just everyone keep on praying…..you can see it happening everyday…..look how DESPERATE they are now advertising on the receipts at 7-Eleven!!! It’s going down :)
