The following email was sent by the Catholic Association of Latino Leaders on March 25.
On Monday, March 11, 2013, the Catholic Association of Latino Leaders (C.A.L.L.) along with the event sponsor, Raza Development Fund, honored C.A.L.L. member Jonathan Reyes for his new appointment as the Executive Director of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development. Over 200 business, civic, and community leaders gathered at the Vatican Embassy in Washington, DC to take part in the reception celebrating Latino Leadership in the U.S. Among those in attendance were Congressmen Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Xavier Becerra (D-CA), and President of Catholic University of America, John Garvey.
What the C.A.L.L. staff may not have known is Congressman Becerra’s solid pro-abortion record.
He is on record as favoring partial-birth abortions, embryonic stem cell research, transporting minors to get abortions, human cloning, and contraception funding.
See full account of Becerra’s record here.
This is one example of what the Pope Emeritus called “filth”. The Pope should throw out the Church bureaucracies from the Vatican on down through all chanceries. It is these organizations that nurture the “filth”.
Each of us should forward this article to our own Diocese Bishop, the USCCB, the US Papal Nuncio, the CA Bishop’s California Catholic Conference.
No Catholic heretic or schismatic (like Congressman Becerra) should be invited to any legitimate Catholic organization’s functions.
In addition this heretic/schismatic should not permitted to receive Holy Communion under Canon 915 or Canon 1399 due to his SCANDAL.
1 Cor 5:11-13.
There are plenty of good Latino or Hispanic organizations to which to give, instead of this one. The St. Juan Diego Society for women and children is one of them. Often they are located near Planned Parenthood Abortion clinics. Please put your money where it actually helps children and women instead of corrupting them or killing them.
Before John Garvey became president of CUA, he was president of BC Law. While there, he and 75 others would not support a professor who wrote critically about same-sex marriage and he allowed pro-abortion speakers to address the school. Short memories, I guess.
There is certainly bountiful fodder for comment today, what with all the stories posted that are crying out for comment. Which is definitely the case with this story on Xavier Becerra. I mean, who knew this latin congressman (named after St. Francis Xavier?) had such a STAGGERING pro-murder congressional record? It would seem that Becerra has never met a pro-abortion killing piece of legislation that he DIDN’T LIKE. It’s almost DEMONIC how hostile he is to the innocent preborn. And what kind of rational excuse will he have when, he, like all of us, will have to appear before the Supreme Judge, Jesus. It’s scary enough to me, who’s had very sinful elements in his life. But I never participated in writing, advancing, promoting or voting for any legislation that would DIRECTLY CAUSE the MURDER of innocent preborns, as did Becerra. So does he have any trepidation about his eventual presence before the SUPREME JUDGE? Only Becerra knows. And he’s apparently not talking. Well, the new Nuremberg trials for all the abortion murders and all those who facilitated them can’t come too fast for me. And the abortionist-in-chief, Obama, should be the first one perp-walked into the defendant’s box. GOD BLESS ALL, MARKRITE
Perhaps the esteemed Congressman would like to explain his voting record to his constituents in terms of the following quotation from Dr. Edward Allred (multi-millionaire, former owner of Family Planning Associates, once upon a time the largest independent abortion clinic chain), quoted in “Doctor’s Abortion Practice Lucrative,” The San Diego Union, 10/12/80, pp. A-3, 17:
“Population control is too important to entrust to some right-wing, pro-life types. Take the recent influx of Hispanic immigrants: Their lack of respect for democracy and social order is frightening. I hope I can do something to stem that tide. I’d set up a[n abortion] clinic in Mexico for free if I could. Maybe one in Calexico would help. The survival of our society could be at stake.…The Aid to Families With Dependent Children program is the worst boondoggle ever created. When a sullen black woman can decide to have a baby and get welfare and food stamps and become a burden to all of us it’s time to stop. In parts of South Los Angeles having babies for welfare is the only industry the people have.”
abortion and race in their own words
Xavier Becerra is not alone. A substantial majority of Hispanic lawmakers are both nominally Catholic and Pro-Abortion. And yet, Hispanic groups like La Raza and its manifold variants and offshoots all seem to benefit from their presumed Catholic status: our bishops never tire of funneling funds into their coffers. Whenever I see the words “justice, peace, and human development” I throw the collection envelope into the waste basket. The painful experience of the ACORN fraud is forever etched in my memory.
