The following comes from a November 12 story on LifeSiteNews.com.
Remember having to watch those sex-ed videos as a teenager about puberty or pregnancy that made everyone in the classroom just a little uncomfortable? Now imagine that while your local Planned Parenthood abortion advocates are teaching a class of young children about having sex, with taxpayer funding from Obamacare, that they dare to show a video of what really happens during an abortion. How horrible would that be?
The satirists at The Onion imagined such a scenario in a recent “news story.” Middle school children “squirmed uncomfortably and grimaced in disgust” when shown the “educational video” titled The Miracle Of Abortion during health class.
“It was so sick,” The Onion quoted 13-year-old Ethan Grimm as saying. “When it came out, it was all slimy and such a gross color. Ugh. We’ve all heard about how abortions work, but I didn’t expect it to be so disgusting in real life.”
While depicting the reality of how gruesome and traumatic such a video would be, the “article” was from The Onion, and there were of course lines meant to be ironic and humorous.
“I couldn’t even watch when they showed the doctor examining the uterine contents,” young Jessica Coleman, who found the abortion process unbearable, told The Onion. “I think I still want to have a kid aborted when I get older, but after watching this video, I think I’ll only have one.”
At last the teacher explains the purpose in showing her students the graphic reality of an abortion procedure:
“I recognize it’s uncomfortable for kids their age to watch, but as they start to become aware of their own sexuality, it’s important they see what actually happens to the female body during abortion.”
“They’re going to have to learn about it some time,” Flannery continued. “And while they may find abortion unpleasant now, I always assure them that when they become sexually active adults and start thinking more about their own lives and children, they’ll realize what a true miracle it is.”

Just saw “Prometheus” last night, a spinoff of the “Alien” franchise. The most disgusting, anti-life film I’ve ever seen. The android of an earth corporation deliberately infects a man with alien DNA; he impregnates a woman, who programs a surgical automaton to abort her of the alien-human child. It is depicted as a monster that is trying to attack her, an image that reinforces the fears of the 1/3 of upwardly mobile young women we have almost no chance of reaching. See Paul Swope, “Abortion: A Failure to Communicate”, “First Things”, April 1998; and on YouTube, “Life on the Rock – Prolife Message – Fr Mark and Fr Anthony w Carl Landwehr – 11-18-2010”.
The Miracle of Murder. Yes, murdering babies – what a thing to teach our children in our taxpayer-funded schools. When we get old, these kids will be our caretakers. By then will we all be watching Soylent Green? Now we see what the Bible meant about bad things being called good, and good things being called bad as never before. I never thought I’d live to see such things.
Maryanne, The Onion is a satirical newspaper. It didn’t really happen.
Before a group can be liquidated, it has to be marginalized & dehumanized.
If symbolic banalization of violence has no influence on acted out lethal behavior, then ratings on videogames should be removed.
See CBS 60 Minutes 2/11/09 ”Can a video game less to murder?”
sick, so sick. The innocent are killed and the innocent lose their innocence. Dear Lord, Help!
Sandra, it’s satire. It’s not true.
what the? Cal Catholic could you have made that more clear for us who go ballistic about such crap?!
rightly said maam
We are not that far from this reality….
My stomach felt sick….this article made me wanna puke. IF they plan to do this thing, then it’s only fair to show the pro-life side of it,….THE TRUTH!
Abeca,
The side that just stole the election does not care about “fair”!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
That is true…I hope parents will fight to no end….Because my kids now go to a partial home schooling charter college type of high school, I don’t have to worry about this but I am concerned for the innocent children out there who will be highly influenced and to be honest those kids also influence home schooled kids. If people don’t think it will affect them, they are fooled because we can’t shelter our kids from those realities but we pray that we give them enough tools for them to combat secular lies.
The article is fictitious, folks. It’s intended as a satirical parody–as a cautionary tale, warning that we may not be far from such a thing in reality. It did NOT happen. Yet.
God, save us before it is too late !!!!
