Dear [name redacted],
I had sent you an email requesting your help for our first Bay Area Mass Mob for Fathers Illo and Driscoll at the Star of the Sea back in April.
We now have a Bay Area Mass Mob coming up on June 27, 2015 for Father Jeffrey Keyes at St. Edward Catholic Church (5788 Thornton Ave, Newark, CA 94560).
“Long-time pastor of St. Edward Church in Newark, CA, Father Jeffrey Keyes, CPPS, is being sent by his order on a sabbatical beginning June 28 before being reassigned. Father Keyes, an accomplished musician and composer, has established a flourishing liturgical life in his parish including both the Ordinary and Extraordinary Forms of the Mass, Liturgy of the Hours, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and a music program featuring Gregorian chant and polyphonic sacred music. Father Keyes volunteers countless weekends for the Retrouvaille marriage program for the Diocese of Oakland. He will be sorely missed. Please pray for his speedy return to our diocese!”
We have created an “I Support Pater Jeffrey Keyes” Facebook page 48 hours ago, and we already have 329 [now 827] people that have liked the page.
Unfamiliar a to why Father Keyes is being reassigned.
Could anyone clarify why his order has taken to doing this?
Thanks.

Poor Father. His church has many Masses on Sunday, most full. People come from all over. But, hatred for true Catholic Doctrine and the Holy Mass by the upper bureaucracy appear to seek the destruction of this fine parish and holy priest.
All a coincidence, of course. Always, just a coincidence.
Same old pattern. This IS what happens when there is enough evidence to convict a faithful Catholic priest of behaving like a faithful Catholic priest. When “EVERYONE” loves you, *all of the time*…..you can be sure that you have NOT been preaching the full gospel. A blah and lukewarm lump of porridge in a bowl inspires no one except the same bowl whose cracks it conveniently hides.
Matthew 10:34 Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword. [35] For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible
My! You really are a cynic.
“My! You really are a cynic.” = A compromised conscience cannot hide from God. A compromised conscience fools no one.
Church Approved Messages of Our Lady of Akita
“The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. *The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres*…churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.”
Anonymous, You cannot hide from God. The reason you have so few new vocations is due to compromising silence. Sins of omission are the fertilizing factor that comfortably enable sins of commission. IOW you’re ongoing silence wreaks as much as the dung it is producing.
Church Approved Message of Our Lady of Akita
“The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them”
Catherine, what are you talking about?
Why would I want to hide from God?
You would not want to hide from God, that is, unless you are invincibly ignorant. Enough said. Actions speak louder than silence. Start defending the faith to your wayward confreres instead of anonymously hiding the gifts that God gave you.
What?
Do you think I am someone that you know?
“Do you think I am someone that you know?” = I think you are someone that God knows. There is nothing new under the sun.
He who stands for nothing will fall for anything.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven: but he that doth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 10:32 Everyone therefore that shall confess me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 10:33 But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.
Catherine, OK so you are just peeved? People don’t go to hell for pointing out someone’s bad attitude toward the Church.
…many have been convinced that hiding from reality and pretending all is well when it isn’t is Faith, Catherine.
“…many have been convinced that hiding from reality and pretending all is well when it isn’t is Faith,”
Very true, Ann Malley! Today’s diabolically disoriented court ruling just kicked many off of “let’s pretend island” right into the shark infested waters of the culture of death. Jesus, I Trust in You! “In the End My Immaculate Heart Will Triumph!”
“Long-time pastor of St. Edward Church in Newark, CA, Father Jeffrey Keyes, CPPS, is being sent by his order on a sabbatical beginning June 28 before being reassigned….”
Um, hello?
This is what HAPPENS in the priesthood: you serve for a time, then your Provincial or Bishop gives you a new assignment and you move.
Hence the “promise of obedience” one makes at ordination!
I know nothing of this parish or this priest, but the fact that he’s the “long-time” pastor of the parish already suggests to me that it’s time for a move: many dioceses have a policy of the pastor moving every six years.
Why assume the bad guys are “out to get him?”
P.S. Even Bishops get moved all the time, as Archbishop Cordileone was moved from Oakland…
A priest is ordained to be faithful to Christ. Lately, it seems that the more loyal the priest is to Christ, the more he will be scorned by not only the world, but by his superiors. This just proves that the higher ups are attempting to destroy the church from within. Look what happened recently to Father Michael Rodriguez in El Paso, Texas. He was removed from his vibrant parish because he spoke the truth, followed traditional Catholic morals and doctrine and also offered the traditional Latin Mass. These acts led to his dismissal, and now the people are without a good and holy priest.
Well where ever they move him, they will be blessed to have him. Wish they can send him to San Diego. The more holy priests we get, the better.
Priests who complain about their ‘superiors’ all the time have obviously become tired of service.
Ordination is not about ‘me’ and what I want but what the Church needs and so I will be transferred from parish to parish to parish, all my life.
The danger of having a priest stay in any one place too long is that the people start to worship him rather than focusing on the Lord; or, they hate him so much they stop going to Mass altogether.
Does Father Keyes know that there is a website which encourages people to write a letter to Bishop Barber asking the Bishop to request that Father Keyes be released from his order and make him a secular priest?
