The 14th annual Walk for Life West Coast is quickly approaching and organizers are gearing up for a huge crowd and several exciting new speakers.
On Saturday, January 27, 2018, people will travel from all over the West Coast to come together to deliver an important message: women deserve better than abortion, and there are people who are willing to help them choose life.
Speakers include Terry Beatley, founder of the Hosea Initiative, a non-profit organization which teaches the impact of worldview through the pro-life conversion story of Dr. Bernard Nathanson. Dr. Nathanson, a former abortionist and co-founder of NARAL, asked Terry to make Americans aware of the “8-point strategy of deceit” used by the abortion industry. Fulfilling the promise made to Dr. Nathansan and using the power of story-telling, Hosea Initiative teaches a broader understanding of the abortion industry’s exploitation of women and children.
Another powerful speaker at this year’s rally is John Bruchalski, M.D. Motivated by a desire to become what he then perceived as being the best possible physician, Dr. Bruchalski performed abortions during his residency. Gradually, he realized that abortion actually harmed women. After a spiritual awakening, he returned to the Catholic faith of his youth and felt God’s call to start a medical practice that truly helped women. In 1994, Dr. Bruchalski founded Tepeyac in Fairfax, VA, offering, in addition to excellent medicine, a faith-based welcome to women regardless of belief, background, or financial situation.
Rev. Clenard Childress, Jr., the founder of the website www.blackgenocide.org, will be returning as a speaker at the 2018 Walk for Life. This website was designed to reach the Afro-American Community with the truth about abortion.
The 2018 Walk for Life West Coast will begin at 12:30 PM with a rally in the city’s Civic Center Plaza. Following the rally, participants will walk down Market Street to Justin Herman Plaza.
Founded in 2005 by a group of San Francisco Bay Area residents, the Walk for Life West Coast’s mission is to change the perceptions of a society that thinks abortion is an answer. - Urgent appeal from California Catholic Daily staff
- Dear California Catholic Daily reader,
- This coming year, we hope to bring you even more original stories and videos about the Church in California. We intend to do this as part-time staff spread throughout the state — on a limited budget. However, in order to stay afloat, we need more of our readers to donate. You are the way that we can continue reaching thousands of people, every day.
- Please consider donating $5 or $10 a month — or anything that you can afford.
- Thank you,
California Catholic Daily staff
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF PRESIDENT TRUMP COULD SPEAK TO THE CROWD VIA SKYPE OR SOME OTHER FORM OF VIDEO!!!
Really? I wouldn’t want him speaking at any rally I support. He would take credit for all the work done over the last 50 years of pro-life efforts, tweet about how much thanks people owe him for being himself, and denigrate anyone didn’t thank him enough. Nope, I want a speaker I can be proud of!
Bob One: I think your analysis of the outcomes were President Trump to address the rally is spot on.
have president trump weigh in
We [faithful Catholics] want Trump! Hopefully the walk for life people are reaching out to him; the most ProLife President of the USA probably in maybe one hundred years (or more?); and with a Catholic immigrant First Lady to boot!
IT MAKES ME SICK, that every year– there is a complete MEDIA BLACK-OUT, and rhe Wak for Life West Coast news story, never makes it, on local or national secular TV, radio, and newspaper news! IT IS IGNORED!! MAKES ME SICK!! If you look closely, you will find the news story in the local newspaper– somewhere, on a back page! And there is never anything at all, on any local or national secular TV or radio station news! On the other hand– the annual filthy, immoral Gay Pride Parade– is a HUGE local and national media event!! YES– I think the President ought to say something (hopefully, a few words of support!) — just to bring some news attention to the event!!
