The following comes from a May 20 story in the Times of San Diego. Kirk Jorgensen and Carl DeMaio lead the field for the GOP nomination for the 52nd Congressional District in San Diego.
Calling Carl DeMaio “the 900-pound gorilla from the GOP,” congressional rival Kirk Jorgensen on Monday told Tea Party members and fellow Republicans that the failed San Diego mayor hopeful should be seen as a threat to the party.
“I’m not here to bad-mouth Carl DeMaio,” said Jorgensen, one of three Republicans vying against Democratic incumbent Scott Peters in the June primary. The top two vote-getters advance to the November election.
“My family voted for him for mayor. My parents wrote him checks,” Jorgensen, 43, told an audience of 45 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5867 in Lakeside. “But Congress is not about pensions and potholes. Congress is for big boys.”
Jorgensen, a former Marine and CIA officer endorsed by the East County chapter of the California Republican Assembly, said DeMaio “isn’t just running as a Republican candidate. He’s running to change the Republican Party” and overturn its long stance against abortion.
“If Republicans don’t stand up for the unborn and the elderly, who [will]?” Jorgensen said at the 90-minute forum. “And if we don’t stand for family values, who will?”
DeMaio publicly supports same-sex marriage as a gay man as well as abortion rights, but Jorgensen said: “If you tell me you’ve found a fiscally conservative social liberal, I’ll tell you you’ve found a unicorn. They do not exist.”
Jorgensen, a political novice who has taken a pledge not to serve more than three terms, ventured outside the “swing” 52nd District 15 days before the June 3 primary.
He said he needed only $6,000 to $7,000 to achieve his fund-raising goals. (His campaign has raised or gotten loans totaling about $300,000, far short of the $2 million totals of Peters and DeMaio, who has the official county GOP endorsement.)
He touted his endorsements by Chargers quarterback Phil Rivers as well as former U.S. Rep. Duncan L. Hunter and his son Duncan D. Hunter, who represents Lakeside in the 50th District.
But Jorgensen, who also faces surgeon Fred Simon in the primary, said few know of his backers because of media opposition.
“The U-T actually has a blackout on our campaign,” Jorgensen said. “I can’t even get on the radio stations because Roger Hedgecock sent me an email a year ago saying he won’t have me on [his nationally syndicated radio show] since he supports Carl DeMaio.”
Jorgensen later noted that he had been on Mike Slater’s local KFMB radio show Monday morning. Hedgecock’s show, in the afternoon, also is heard on KFMB in San Diego. The U-T featured Jorgensen and Simon in a lengthy story April 25.
Jorgensen said his first step after being elected to Congress would be to “find Democrats willing to work with me” on such issues as cutting regulations that hamper business, but not those rules involving health and the environment. He’d support repeal of Obamacare, however, and act to end the Department of Education….

Catholics need to forget the dopey USCCB and vote according to Catholic teachings. Bishops are unapologetic liberals and supporters of the Democratic Party. Bishops are enablers of the two elections of President Obama and of a Democratic majority in the Senate. Bishops support, de facto, abortion choice and homosexual sexual relations, including marriage. Bishops support, de facto, contraception, sex before marriage, looking the other way about adultery, and OK’ing divorce and receipt of the sacraments without annulment. In sum, bishops want to complete the effort to rid the Church of the “Medieval Catholic Church” and embrace modernism. We should all invite most bishops to become Episcopalians, which most of them are already, in teaching, life style, and spirit. America would have been free of abortion and homosexual sexual rights if its bishops would have taken the onset of these demands as something to fight, and had done so with all their vigor and treasure. Now, beliefs have hardened, and it is much more difficult, if not possible, to roll back. And, of course, now you are hearing, “well, we have preached what the Church says about this, but people don’t want it” and then they wring their hands, and retreat to their baronial places of residence and continue their rounds of parties, media appearances, and general hobnobbing with elected pagans (many of which are also Catholic-Pagans).
More than 40 years ago the bishops in charge decided that one tax exemption was worth more than 58 million dead unborn babies and today we are all paying the price. Before that, did they step up and condemn artificial contraception? No-Pope Paul VI was rejected in the US by many bishops. (He should be canonized for promulgating that encyclical, if for no other reason) And of course the flock never heard the truth about contraception and what it does to women, to say nothing of the social and family effects: divorce, adultery, fornication, etc. In fact some of the bishops assured “Catholic” politicians that they could vote their conscience on these matters! We must pray every day fervently for our bishops and priests and seminarians. The priests being ordained today seem more faithful to the Church, and are not afraid to speak out on the hard issues. I am certain they are being pummeled by the enemy of souls constantly, and need constant prayers and sacrifices, to say nothing of offering Masses for them. As for voting, I only vote for candidates who affirm life, and if your pastor allows the pro-life voting guide to be distributed on public property outside your church, you are fortunate. Some use the “we’ll lose our tax exemption” scare tactic to disallow the distribution; this guide only gives the views of various candidates who either have voted for LIFE or who view abortion as abhorrent in all or most circumstances. It recommends no candidate!
Wish I lived in JORGENSEN DISTRICT>>>>I WOULD VOTE FOR HIM
I wished I had watched this sooner. If you cannot vote for him, then send his campaign some money if you can.
Vote: Kirk Jorgensen.

S.N.A.F.U. That was the acronym given during W.W.II to many (usually) military actions run by the Army. Now it can be equally attributed to the “new” and “sanitized” Republican Party as the moral corruption so endemic in secular society logically spills over into the alternate 2nd political party of any consequence in the U.S.. (maybe we need a new Judeo-Christian 3rd party?) In any case, I’m really not surprised by the machinations as candidates of those like DeMaio (Peters being a Demoncratic candidate, I think we all know where he stands on the two hot-buttons, legalized abortion and “gay” marriage). It’s been a long time coming, and now these R.I.N.O.’S like DeMaio want to infect the Repub. Party in San Diego with their “progressive” ideals like those he wants to foist on the G.O.P. apparently nationwide. Once again, the Republicans have been “progressively” undermined by the touchstone notions of the increasingly radicalized dem’s for quite a while now, no surprises there. And we’re getting to a place in this country where there’ real danger that Judeo-Christians are going to find themselves more and more demonized over the whole concept of Same Sex Marriage because the GayMafia has been highly successful in promoting such to the, once again, increasingly secularized and radicalized culture at large. And when was the last time that any priest that almost anyone can remember gave a homily on either 1) the huge use of contraceptives, abortifacient or not, indulged in by somewhere around 80% of Catholic married women who DO attend Mass, or 2) “Gay Marriage” as an abominatory concept UNHEARD OF until relatively recently ? BTW, check out Fr. Dwight Longenecker’s blog on NEWADVENT.ORG for today, May 20th; it’s chilling. VIVA CRISTO REY! markrite
St. Christopher is correct. The bishops stand for nothing. They go along to get along, a friend to everyone, no matter how contrary to Catholic principles.
Comedian: Cross Hollywood’s gay mafia, and ‘You’re not going to get your movie directed’
May 20, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Longtime comedian Adam Carolla has warned the Hollywood blacklist is back, this time for anyone who runs afoul of homosexual activists. If an artist does not support the homosexual political agenda, Carolla said, “You’re not going to get your movie directed.”
…Carolla said that homosexuals have “just turned into a mafia”
