It was early in the morning when the counselor was able to talk to a couple in their early 30s. They stopped, took material, and listened for a few minutes. They were both open and friendly but starting to move as if they wanted to go in. The counselor said, “I don’t know why you are here, and I am not trying to be nosy, but we are trying to turn people away from this place and go to a pregnancy resource center, as this place is all about abortions and making money. That’s their main business… and they don’t care at all what happens to you or your family.”

At that they smiled and she said, “Thank you,” and without sharing why they were there, they started to head in, saying, “Oh, it’s OK, we already have two kids and then continued in. She spoke English well but had an Eastern European accent.

The dad came out once or twice over the next hour, but the counselor was unable to connect with him as it was busy and/or the young father was on his phone and walking around between his car and the entrance to the abortion center.

About 40 or 50 minutes later, she came out with all the material in her hand talking on her cell phone but turned and went back in. Then nearly an hour later she came out again after he had gone to their car. She still had all the handouts in her hand and headed toward their car. Minutes later as they drove by where the counselor was standing, the dad rolled down the passenger window and motioned for the counselor to come over.

He said, “We aren’t going to do it.” The counselor said, “So you were here for an abortion?” He said, “Yes, but we decided against it.” The counselor said, “Well, praise God! Praise God and bless you for your decision. God bless you.” The young woman had a grin from ear to ear, and the dad was smiling as they drove off.

Please remember to pray for this couple that they remain firm in their decision for life.
