The following comes from an April 3 story on yahoo.com.

A federal judge in San Francisco has ordered California to pay for a sex-change operation for a biologically male prisoner that could cost as much as $100,000.
US District Court Judge Jon Tigar ruled Thursday that Michelle-Lael B. Norsworthy, who was born Jeffrey Bryan Norsworthy, should undergo gender-reassignment surgery at the state’s expense to ensure her constitutional rights are met.
“Defendants shall take all of the actions reasonably necessary to provide Norsworthy sex-reassignment surgery as promptly as possible,” the judge wrote.
Norsworthy has been in prison since 1987 and is serving 17 years to life for the 1985 shooting death of an acquaintance, according to the Orange County Register newspaper.
Norsworthy, 51, started to identify as a woman in the 1990s and was diagnosed in January 2000 with gender dysphoria, or gender identity disorder.
“She is seeking access to the medical treatment prescribed by her treating provider and denied for administrative, rather than medical, reasons,” the judge said in his ruling.
California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokeswoman Terry Thornton said the state was reviewing all options, “including whether or not to appeal.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, the operation could cost about $100,000.
Will they then turn this Killer lose in a Women’s Prison, which is also what many others including traitor Bradley ‘chelsea’ Manning want too?
They’d have to. I don’t know of any prisons for “its”, do you ?
Absurdity is rampant, and this is one more (glaring) example.
Indeed, Ted, it’s incredibly bizarre even for California. Give this person an exorcism, new frames and a decent hair style and he/ she would be good to go.
Whats with all the gay news?, just tired of it.
Its disgusting how this society has stopped so low. God have mercy. I look forward to more uplifting Catholic news that encourage many to be better Catholics. Didn’t this website have articles on the saint of the day? Just wondering.
“What’s with all the gay news? just tired of it. = Rose smelling saints certainly never publicly whined about fighting the evils of their day with remarks such as “just tired of it.” If you are tired of IT…stop enabling IT!
FYI The Catholic saint of the day is St. John Baptist de LaSalle. He would most certainly be praising the consistent faithful efforts of CCD in trying to educate by exposing the filth that has even corrupted the Order that he founded.. Stop trying to also silence CCD too.
“St. John Baptist de La Salle (April 30, 1651 – April 7, 1719) He was a French priest, educational reformer, and founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. He is a saint of the Roman Catholic Church and the patron saint of teachers.De La Salle dedicated much of his life to the education of poor children in France; in doing so, he started many lasting educational practices. He is considered the founder of the first Catholic schools.”

‘France appoints openly gay man as ambassador to the Vatican ‘ – Sun Times
https://atlanta.suntimes.com/national-world-news/7/72/906799/france-appoints-openly-gay-man-ambassador-vatican-city
Thank you for making my point – that his website is obsessed with anything gay related. It’s silly, really, Why should 4% of the population be the topic of 30 or 50% of the content of this website? The only answer is obsession, and our Holy Father warned against it.
YFC, unfortunately the radical homosexuals continuously keep doing things (including suing those who do not believe in, or wish to remotely participate in their sins) in the News.
They even publically march against anything to do with accurate Catholic teaching.
They are full of hate (like Satan) and want everyone to bow to their lifestyle of sodomy.
If you want sexual sins out of the news, tell your gay associates to stop acting out.
This is not an Obsession, but a fact.
The Holy Father NEVER said to avoid TRUTH.
I hope you will agree that those in PRISON should never be permitted ELECTIVE Surgery (at taxpayer expense).
Gay people are never the subject of a CCD article when they are fired from their job for being gay, denied housing because they are gay, or murdered because they are LGBT. The doctrine of the faith includes a plea that gay people are supposed to be treated with resepect and to avoid all forms of unjust discrimination. Has there been even a single article here on CCD that points to any Catholic effort to eliminate that unjust discrimination from society?
I know just the website for you, yfc…JihadWatch.com just had an article today on a homosexual being stoned to death and decapited in Iraq by the Islamists. This is common practice under sharia law. Why do we never see articles like this in the msn?
…and for all the people who hate the Catholic Church or blame her for teaching that homosexuality is a disorder or that sex change operations are against the natural law, etc. here’s some good news for you…https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/11518702/Mapped-What-the-worlds-religious-landscape-will-look-like-in-2050.html
Sharia law won’t be very tolerant of any of these things , as you can imagine but at least you remember the good old days that you had a hand in bringing to an end.
This article is not about gays…and there is nothing in the article to indicate disapproval.
YFC, those with Same Sex Attraction (SSA) have zero problem with their employment, housing, or being murdered.
They are respected just like all other human beings.
EVIL behavior is what causes problems for people – whether it is Fornication, Homosexual Acts, or Adultery, etc.,
When the Homosexual community tries to FORCE others to accept Sodomy as a legitimate and wholesome lifestyle, this becomes a problem for the homosexual.
We may not RESPECT, TOLERATE, or CONDONE, Mortal (grave) sins of any kind.
And neither should you.
Just exposing the rot YFC, how your corrupt crowd has destroyed the culture.. you and the Holy Father prefer we just ignore it….no we are shining a light
It’s important to know what’s going on in the world and in one’s own country/state if only to gauge the intensity of the spiritual combat. Don’t confuse uplifting and Catholic as negating reality. Our Lord tells us to watch and look at the signs of the times – not ignore them to maintain natural “happiness” while the enemy advances unchecked.
The uplifting portion is that there is GRACE with which to combat the encroaching evil. An evil that seems to be the domination of less than 4% of the population seeking to gag and/or hogtie society by way of extortion or character assassination.
Thank God for CCD and it’s anti-obsession with fluff and saccharin reporting that leaves a body wholly unaware. Innocent, not ignorant is the order of the day. Much like Our Lady.
And hey, reports of the Crucifixion were likely hard to hear. Should we quash that story, too, because the thought of suffering and death is just too negative?
This is interesting as well with regard to shutting down actual dialogue about issues changing our country, the world, and the perception of what Catholic means and what freedom means:

Maybe the problem, Ann, is there’s just too much dialoguing and not enough conversation? ;) I’ve managed to live 70 years without “dialoguing “even once, to my knowledge. We talk to each other…converse…but I’ll leave the dialoguing to the same
People who have ” issues” rather than problems. I’m not faulting you at all…it’s just my ears and eyes have become overly sensitive to the “nuanced” parle vous used by the talking heads that pass as journalists in this country and I’m just filled to the gills with all that lingua poobah.
You’re right, Dana, in calling out the need for precision in terms. Conversation. Much better. Communication would be good, too. Unfortunately, the “issues” go the way of “dialogue” and so the “problems” never get fully “communicated” via “conversation.”
I’m reminded of a married couple I once knew – successfully married – for upwards of 60 years that didn’t dialogue or converse. She would write him notes about what bugged her and he would do the same. Adjustments would be made and all was well in the kingdom. Conversation was left for happy things :)
Abeca,,,I’m tired of it too and I’m gay. :-)
Abeca, the LGBT community keeps forcing news articles by their actions.
They are behind many (but not all) of the evils within and outside the Church.
These homosexual activists are trying to FORCE everyone to accept their sinful lifestyle.
Unfortunately ignorance is not bliss, and the articles keep us informed.
The government wants all taxpayers to pay for Abortions, Contraception, Sex change operations, and soon it will be Euthanasia.
Let people pay for and take full responsibility for their own sins.
We need different elected Officials who will appoint Judges with common sense.
And we need more info on elected Judges.
There should be ZERO elective surgery while in prison.
Ted, i agree wholeheartedly. No elective surgery for prisoners. What’s next, free hair transplants?
