All young adults in the Diocese are invited to a Summer Discussion Night, featuring Bishop Patrick McGrath at St. Martin of Tours church. Bishop McGrath has graciously offered to make himself available for an evening to listen to ideas and answer questions from young adults.
Therefore, we will be presenting this discussion night as a Town Hall style (Q&A) session focused around engaging and ministering to young adults in our diocese.
Please come with questions, concerns and ideas to share with the Bishop. Our moderator will be taking live questions from the audience as well as reading questions submitted electronically in advance.

St. Martin of Tours, good choice for a Gay Friendly Bishop to hold a Summer Discussion Night with young adults at a Gay Friendly parish. https://www.newwaysministry.org/gfp.html
I have a bright idea: I suggest that the detractors of this Bishop attend this “townhall” for young adults and to hear—straight from the horse’s mouth—whatever he has to say. Since you people are so good and brilliant when castigating—-with full vehemence–this man in the pages of this here blog, go and attend. And I daresay, confront him for the falsehoods that you might hear. Yeah, correct him on the spot (in a nice and respectful way of course and I am sure you people can manage “nice” and “respectful”). Time for you folks to actually do something about your incessant complaining. Go! Attend!
Gosh – How dare anyone Vehemently denounce those who created and nurtured the Homosex Epheboplile Nightmare of Abuse of Adolescent Boys – that even Bishop Robert Barron identified as the biggest factor in the response of American Catholics to the gross mismanagement (at the least) of their Diocese, in Ruining so many Young Lives… and of course Bankrupting so many Parishes to pay attorneys to uncover filth that should never have been allowed to fester.
Or misused donations of the Faithful used to fund cocaine fueled homosex orgies in the Vatican is Un-Good Too – like pushing the GILBERT Gaystapo Agenda in Schools?

Well Jon, after writing numerous letters to the Bishop’s personal newspaper, The Valley Catholic, questioning his heretical statements and policies and never receiving a reply or having them published, I am sure that my mike would be cut off in the midst of a respectful question to Bishop McGrath. But I hope someone will ask him:
Why he chose to promulgate a personal letter against President Trump, when he is silent on Hillary, Pelosi, Boxer, et al regarding their position on abortion?
Why he is so anxious, in the face of Moslem violence, to accept even more into this country, yet does not push for accepting Christian refugee from the same part of the world?
Why, in his outreach to the homosexual community, does he not have the…
jon, that is an exceptionally good idea!!
The fine outstanding teacher-of-the-faith PJ McGrath perhaps will forgo his hired security (sometimes packing) that accompanies him in case the Faithful are too truculent.
(At times in years past, when the good Bishop has attended other functions, he has had at least one uniformed armed security displaying prominently a side arm. Pretty interesting for someone who’s a strict gun control enthusiast. But the good Bishop must be kept safe from motley Promethean Pelagians, no doubt..)
I think the Rabbi of San Jose allows the Bishop to use his armed “security agents” on a part-time basis?
LGBT: These are the People Who Want to Talk to Your Kids, Part 1
by Robert Oscar Lopez https://barbwire.com/2017/07/27/people-want-talk-kids-part-1/
You know the old saying: “Burn me once, shame on you; burn me twice, shame on me.”
In the case of the LGBT lobby and children, we have to add: “burn me fifty times, shame on me and everyone who ever left me alone with you.”
– school districts all over Texas are grappling with stealth efforts by LGBT activists to transform what students actually learn.
The Human Rights Campaign is pushing “Welcoming Schools” on children as young as four or five, and they are not the only ones attempting to replace standard arithmetic, reading, writing, and science, with shamelessly inappropriate…
Back in the late 70s and early 80s when I was a youth, my peers who were interested in God had a thirst for unvarnished truth. If we sought not to follow, then so be it. But we first wanted to hear the truth and we easily recognized a fake when we saw it. From what I’ve heard, todays youth are no different.
If the bishop honestly seeks to hear a statistical sampling of the youth, I suspect he’ll get an earful.

Diocese of San Jose LGBT Ministry…
Expect a deafening silence, Ron.
Amen, Jon. Good of the Bishop to spend some time answering young peoples’ questions. If we ignore the youth, we won’t need Bishops in two or three generations, because no one will be around.
Rather than asking the bishop questions, which I think would be quite dull, I would rather ask of the young adults who attend the event:
1) Which Catholic doctrines do you accept, and which do you reject?
2) What is your understanding of sin?
3) What is your understanding of the importance and role of the Church?
4) What do you believe about Holy Communion and other sacraments?
5) What do you believe about God, Jesus Christ and the Trinity?
Asking those questions of young adults in the presence of the bishop would likely provide ample evidence that they have not been adequately catechized and that the Catholic “faith” of the diocese is largely a farce. Then turn to the bishop and say, “You have your mission, O shepherd.”

“Our moderator will be taking live questions from the audience as well as reading questions submitted electronically in advance”
Gosh – Does this Cal Catholic forum qualify for ‘electronic submissions’ – or is the Moderator Really a Censor who will make sure that only light hearted and gaily happy ‘questions’ are delivered via softball tosses to someone who has a Lot to Answer For – including the Disgrace of ‘catholic’ (small; ‘c’) educational institutional like the PC Farce of Academentia = Santa Clara ‘jesuit’ (small ‘j’ & ‘u’) university?
While you laity should be able to hear the full truth from all of us clergy all of the time, that unfortunately is not the case. It is prudent for each of us to know what Holy Church teaches, and to know what various clergy teach before we attend any talks by them or allow our children to do so. I personally have opted out of diocesan talks because the speaker has not been entirely faithful to Jesus, to the Bible, or to the long standing Tradition of the church. I have neither invited such speakers to my parish when I was a pastor nor published in my bulletin their venue for speaking. I care for my own soul and for the souls of those under my care. May parents do the same in all cases.
What ever happened to the local St. Joseph’s Men Society’s efforts to pursue real Catholic answers from our Irish Bishop ? Are there any Catholic men left… or even a few SSPX priest’s with guts to show up to ask some penetrating questions ? Perhaps the concept of Catholic “Duty of State” has been undermined by “political correctness” ?
The St Joseph’s Men’s Society still has its website up,..

..but a number of the articles, though interesting, are dated. It appears they have also pulled back and exercised the St. Benedict Option. Besides, Frankenchurch is not going to change…until the last church is closed and sold to a yoga group (or turned into a mosque).
