The above comes from a Feb. 24 email sent by the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants San Diego.
Over half of abortions in America are done by abortion pills administered at home. This will be a non-issue soon enough, just like taking aspirin is a non-issue because it can’t be tracked.
Not if the women start bleeding or have complications at home and are sent to the hospital. That is if they even make it to the phone.
When 40 Days for Life started as an October event, it was fine. Now that it’s expanded to virtually all year round it’s a bit ridiculous. My parish learned pretty fast that you can’t get people to sign up to demonstrate outside abortion clinics except for three fanatics.
Why do you even bother to show up at church, Commenter? Doesn’t the murder of unborn babies matter to you at all? Shawn and Marilisa Carney, and David Bereit, of 40 Days For Life are Christian heroes of our time.
If you’re saying that someone isn’t a good Catholic unless he signs up for 40 Days for Life, you’re sorely wrong.
I didn’t get to finish my comment because my name “unanonymous” disappeared in the box when I tried to click on it and I clicked on “post comment” box instead.
So, to finish, “Reply to” is gravely mistaken in thinking that Catholics who don’t support radical anti-abortion demonstrations shouldn’t “bother to show up at church.” This is typical of the TLM mindset that only they have the “real Catholicism” and anyone who doesn’t like what they do or promote are inferior Catholics.
I think the poster’s comment that 40 Days for Life is wearing out its welcome in parishes is spot-on. People don’t want to hear about abortion all year round. People don’t want to be harangued to protest all year long. If protesting outside clinics is your thing, fine. Let others practice their faith in their own way. You don’t have the only way.
Si yo ya naci, por que los demas no?
