RE: Updated Breakroom Postings
The 2021 California and Federal Employment Notices (Breakroom Posters) have been released. Please ensure that you are removing the 2020 California and Federal Employment Notices and placing the 2021 California and Federal Employment Notices in its place.
Please note that the “Transgender Rights in the Workplace” section does not apply to us due to our Religious Corporation exemption. We ask that you cover this section on the poster(s) on site.
If you have not already purchased the 2021 California and Federal Employment Notices, we recommend purchasing your poster(s) from CalChamber (link below). https://store.calchamber.com/10032178-mastpost/products/posters/california-labor-lawposters
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

But they have gay married employees. Yep they do. Almost every diocese does, and the bishops know and they don’t know what to do about it and they are afraid to do what they ought to do.
Won’t that look a bit strange? What is in the covered section? Or does the source listed have versions with the non applicble section omitted?
It looks strange with the content on the poster. Never should be there in the first place.
Thanks be to God that the Diocese of Sacramento has clarity about this.
Does anyone know if any other dioceses in California are doing the same?
The insanity of denying biology has so many bad consequences. At least, the religious exemption would seem to stop a priest from identifying as a woman and “transitioning” and becoming a woman priest. And, if a priest were to try such, at least he couldn’t sue the diocese over his dismissal.
And, there’s no advantage for me to self-identify as a bishop.
We already have priests who self-identify as dissenters from the teachings of Christ and His Church.
And, Biden, Pelosi, Cuomo and Newsom self-identify as “Catholics.”
Let’s pray we have some bishops who self-identify as Shepherds and Successors to the Apostles and deal with immorality, heresy and apostasy.
@ anonymous clergyman – Unfortunately, the Shepherd of San Diego has a minimalist view on what it means to be Catholic, but he does believe wholeheartedly in the nuances of climate change and self-identifies as an eco-warrior.
And how does “Laudato Si” or mindfulness of the environment contradict Catholicism? Before you throw labels and brand people, you ought to be informed that the way your comment above stands speaks more about your politics, not your Catholicism.
Silent Observer didn’t say those things “contradict” Catholicism.
Agreed. Rank and file clergy as well! Let’s start by not being anonymous and stand courageously with our bishops with our names to back up bold statements!
True story. When the gyms were open I’d work out and see this more than sligthly overweight, bald man from my place of employment. Locker room and treadmill sweating away. Then one day.. this former man “came out” as a woman with new name and all. Held up as some sort of heroic paragon by my newly WOKE employer. The point? Well, none really other than my relief that the gym remains closed and I work out at home now.
There is no such thing as transgender. There is only male and female. Therefore, there is no such thing as transgender rights. They are a legal fiction.
Not a lawyer, but I have to assume that the law that requires employers to post employment regulations do not carve out posting exemptions on whether the regulations are enforceable on a particular set of people. They could well find themselves in a heap of legal trouble, even if they prevail on any claims that result. And, I might point out, by making such a big deal of violating the posting rules, they invite themselves to be sued. I suspect this will backfire.
You should have stopped at “Not a lawyer.” Maybe added, “Not a theologian, not a canon lawyer, not a doctor, not a professor, not an expert.” You’re just a random dude.
At least I’m a smart not so anonymous dude.
Bishop Soto, of Sacramento, was in the Seminary with me back in the 1970s, a year behind me then. I’ve always liked him and now I see that he’s done another good thing, or at least someone under his direction has done it. It’s good to see faithful Bishops and Priests do what is morally right, not just what the government proclaims.
As Americans we are bound to follow all just law, not laws that are unjust. As Catholics this is even more important.
For those of you who are pointing out that Catholic institutions do have gay “married” folks working in them thanks for telling us what we already know. All human beings except Mary the Mother of Jesus and Jesus Himself have pecados and faults and gunk in their lives. Let those of you who are without sin cast the first stone. Start with me. I’m a real dunderhead.
Rev. John Higgins: If the post-Conciliar Catholic Church would get very serious about teaching Christian Morality and sin– especially, very serious sins, such as Catholic couples “shacking up,” supporting contraception and abortion, doing drugs openly, gay sex acts and gay “marriage”– especially, these terrible sins among Church leaders and employees– extremely damaging to a parish! — then, laymen would never have to bother the clergy about it. You make us look like fools for complaints– but then, the post-Conciliar Church is morally irresponsible! And needs and expects lots of money in tithes, regardless of scandals, which we are actually helpless to do anything about, if the Church refuses to take action! Our Catholic children and families deserve a truly good Church, no irresponsible scandals at our local parishes and parish schools, to have to constantly worry about! Sin and scandals, never responsibly gotten rid of, is extremely damaging to a church, school– and to the whole community!
Father Higgins, I would never refer to another human being as a dunderhead, and I appreciate much of what you are saying. But I think if you went to the DA with a defense of “well I don’t have to follow unjust laws”, I suspect you will end up in jail. Every criminal thinks the laws they violate are unjust.
YFC, did you read what Fr. Higgins said? (Yesterday, you claimed to be smart.). Fr. Higgins did not refer to another person as a dunderhead. He referred to himself as such. There is a difference. In the Jesus Prayer, we pray, “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” And, in other prayers as well, we sometimes refer to ourselves as sinners. Yet, when we pray the Jesus Prayer for others, we’re taught to pray, “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, have mercy.” You’re right that we should not call others dunderheads or (usually) sinners. Yet, I am a sinner and have done some stupid things in my life. Like Fr. Higgins, I know that for me and all of us, forgiveness and grace are available in spite of my sins and stupidity.
I think Rev means pecadillo. “a small, relatively unimportant offense or sin.”
So, homo couples working in a parish office or school is just some minor sin?
Or maybe, a pecado is a new type of avacodo. either way, rev doesnt know what he is taking about.
Silent Observer, said shepherd also seems to be a doctor/scientist/(moral (amoral…)theologian now. He has put out a statement that the Pfizer, Moderna and J&J Covid vaccines are all “safe and effective” and are fully approved by the teachings of our Church.
He goes on to state that “Pope Francis has so clearly taught that receiving the vaccine is not only for ourselves as individuals, but for everyone that we treasure, to keep them safe and healthy and bring back the joys of life to us all”. So my not receiving the vaccine makes me selfish and, perhaps, even sinful?.
As for the transgender issue, a friend told me a joke: “God made male and female; the liberals have made all the rest.
