The following comes from a June 14 story on LifeSiteNews.com.
Ten Catholic bishops teamed up with a pro-Planned Parenthood group to a release a report this week that urges Catholic organizations to fund groups linked to the promotion of abortion and other acts opposed by the Church.
The 28-page report, released Tuesday by the advocacy group Faith in Public Life, targets Catholic critics of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, accusing them of adopting “McCarthy-era tactics” in their quest to rid the USCCB-run organization of problematic partnerships.
The CEO of the group Faith in Public Life is Jennifer Butler a Presbyterian minister who sat on a panel of “pro-choice clergy” at Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s annual interfaith breakfast in 2008. Moreover, the website of Faith in Public Life has published numerous blog posts defending Planned Parenthood.
The report was authored by John Gehring, Faith in Public Life’s Catholic Program Director, who once served as the USCCB’s Assistant Director for Media Relations.
The opening pages of the report include a list of endorsing groups and individuals, including nine retired U.S. bishops and one sitting bishop (Bishop Kevin Dowling of Rustenberg, South Africa). The retired bishops listed are Archbishop Fiorenza, Bishop William S. Skylstad of Spokane, Bishop John Cummins of Oakland, Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, Bishop Ricardo Ramirez of Las Cruces, Bishop Peter Rosazza, Bishop Sylvester Ryan of Monterey, Bishop Joseph Sullivan, and Bishop John Leibrecht of Springfield-Cape Girardeau. Archbishop Fiorenza and Bishop Skylstad are both former presidents of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Many of the bishops backing the report are known for taking public positions against Catholic teaching.
- Bishop Dowling is famous for his opposition to Church teaching on contraception and in 2010 he was rebuked by the Southern African Bishops’ Conference after giving a talk that criticized the Vatican and Catholic teaching against the ordination of women.
- Bishop Gumbleton, a well-known dissident in the U.S. Church, made headlines in April when he opposed his own bishop, Archbishop Allen Vigneron of Detroit, after Vigneron defended the Church’s opposition to same-sex “marriage” and urged Catholics who support the illicit unions to not approach for Communion.
- Bishop Sullivan has been a speaker for the pro-homosexual New Ways Ministry, and has called for active homosexuals to be brought in to “full participation in the life of the church.”
In the report, Faith in Public Life charges that CCHD’s critics are working to “undermine the U.S. Catholic bishops’ most successful anti-poverty initiative.”
“Using guilt by association and other tactics from the McCarthy-era playbook, these activists are part of an increasingly aggressive movement of Catholic culture warriors who view themselves as fighting for a smaller, ‘purer’ church,” it reads.
The report mentions the Reform CCHD Now coalition by name, and focuses particularly on American Life League, which has been one of the leading critics. LifeSiteNews is also mentioned because of its recent reports highlighting Catholic Relief Services’ links to pro-abortion groups.
It criticizes recent decisions by CCHD to defund grantees like the Land Stewardship Project and Compañeros, which were found to be taking active leadership roles in coalitions that endorse same-sex “marriage.”
These defunding decisions have come after detailed reports from the Reform CCHD Now coalition, but in these cases the coalition has merely called on CCHD to live up to its own guidelines. According to those guidelines, CCHD funds “cannot go to groups that knowingly participate in coalitions that have as part of their organizational purpose or coalition agenda, positions or actions that contradict fundamental Catholic moral and social teaching….”
“It is utterly wrong that a network of conservative Catholic organizations would choose to withhold funds from local groups working with the poor because they support marriage equality and the LGBT community,” said Sharon Groves, HRC’s Religion and Faith Director….

These Bishops are schismatics and possibly heretics.

Also endorsing giving Catholic donation money to those who violate Church teachings such as abortion and same-sex marriage are many of the same schismatic and heretical players – LCWR; Sisters of Mercy of the Americas; (George Soros supported) ‘Catholic Alliance for the Common Good’;
“Catholics United”; Stephen Schneck, Director, Institute for Policy Research & Catholic Studies of the The Catholic University of America (Bishops University in DC); John Gehring, former Assistant Director for Media Relations at USCCB;
Several nuns from the Dominican Sisters Conference.
They do not care. They hate Christ and his Church. They hate everything that the Church teaches. These are Sheparhards eating the sheep with the big bad wolf.
What will the master do to them when he comes? Unless they wash themselves in the blood of the lamb, they are in deep trouble.
The most important thing to remember is that these men (and, alas, so many other bishops) need our prayers. It’s hard to believe that men who were selected for such high office, and entrusted with the care of the Church would lose their moral compass to the extent that they would betray the Church in such a manner. It shows that Satan can enter any of our hearts. Let us pray that we all remain strong in our Faith and loyal to God and His Church.
Everyone agrees that we have an obligation to help those in need, but those endorsing in this report supporting the CCHD giving to pro-abortion and pro same-sex marriage – refuse to support Church non-negotiables re: abortion, euthanasia, cloning, contraception, and same-sex marriage.
Faithful Bishops had better start enforcing Canon 915 and Canon 1399.
Things will only get worse if they do not start excommunicating to teach and to discipline.
1 Cor 5:9-13.
These Bishops should be defrocked and lose any pension they are getting.
The road to hell will be paved with the skulls of bishops.
Or perhaps with the skulls of those who judge others?
The prophet Ezekiel was placed under dire penalty should he not warn the wicked man that his sins would cost him his life. Our Blessed Lord commanded us to judge by the standard of righteousness. St. Paul exhorts us to admonish our brethren, lest they undergo the second death. Anton L Seidl, like countless faithful brethren, is obeying Almighty God and conforming to charity by publicly warning radically disobedient prelates.
If I thought any of the bishops were reading this post, your post would still be wrong. They’re not reading it, so their not being corrected. Secondly, damning them to Hell is not correcting, it’s judging…and the scriptures are fiercely clear about those who judge. So, by all means, Gladstone, exhort and admonish, but if you defend those who judge (allow me to admonish YOU), consider that your soul is at risk. I exhort you to turn from judgements. They belong to God ALONE. They are the wide and perilous path to Hell.
He was quoting St. John Chrysostom, so if you have a problem, tell him off.
The quote was a warning to bishops, not an observation.
In contrast, Dante put bishops and Popes in hell.
Yes Anonymous, yours is exactly the position taken by Faith in Public LIfe: there are judgmental Catholics our there who are holding the CCHD to live up to its own guidelines. Oh how uncharitable can these people be? They just aren’t “with it”, are they? Good to have someone like carrying water for Jennifer Butler et al. What would she do without you?
Oh,my yes! Just let everyone do just as they please…heaven forbid we judge anyone. Tsk tski hope you have that little overused phrase tattooed on your arm so when you’re unconscious or delirious everyone will know just how you feel. Better yet, have a rubber stamp made and a recording of it so you don’t qeae yourself out repeating it!
(Wear yourself out )
Anonymous,
Those who love the truth do not cower behind anonymous posts. If you truly believed what you just wrote then you would use a specific name so readers could clearly and consistently recognize who you were serving. Most criminals also try to commit their very bad acts in anonymity so no one will recognize who they truly are.
If you are serving the homosexual agenda your conscience is even telling you that you should be ashamed and this is why you are hiding. Otherwise you would write a name that was recognized for *consistently* serving God first. These bishops are serving the wrong master and by your hiding in shame while supporting them even your guardian angel is informing your conscience that you are not serving God first either. This is why you won’t use a name. Your shame in hiding says it all. You must realize that no one hides from God. Anonymous, Hell is the eternal jail for those heretics who foolishly mock God and undermine His authority. No one wants to see you or these bishops go to hell but unless they repent, this is where they and you are headed. Many of these bishops do not believe in the existence of hell. Perhaps you deny the existence of hell too. Criminals never think that they are going to be caught either. Criminals always get caught by their own foolish actions. Stop hiding. Stop serving the wrong master.
Look at how the world jokes about dumb criminals getting caught for being stupid. Perhaps you have never been taught the faith properly or perhaps you have chosen to serve the homosexual lobby before you serve God. Hell is no laughing matter but spiritually speaking you are committing the same very bad acts by defending the very bad actions of bishops who are disloyal to Church teaching.
Taken from: Five Characteristics of Stupid People Who Commit Crimes
“Stupid criminals are everyone’s favorite joke. The news, television shows, and Internet videos all enjoy making fun of stupid criminals. It is always comforting to know that there is someone out there who is dumber than we are.
There are a number of characteristics that most stupid criminals share. For instance:
Characteristic Number 1: They never have a plan. Even the fact that so many of them get caught on camera proves this, as a smart criminal would never leave behind a sure-fire way to get caught. Additionally, these dumb offenders never seem to have any idea what to do next, instead bumbling through a series of mistakes that inevitably ends with them getting caught.
Characteristic Number 2: They typically take an average crime and screw it up beyond belief. Take, for instance, the liquor store robber who climbed into the building through the roof at night. Never mind the tried-and-true technique of entering the store masked and armed and demanding all the money in the cash register, this guy decided he was going to reinvent the wheel. Unfortunately, his bright idea didn’t work out so well after all: He couldn’t figure out how to get back out of the store afterward, and the security cameras caught the whole thing on video anyway.
Characteristic Number 3: They give themselves away. Some people seem to forget that this is the twenty-first century, and that there are such things as fingerprinting, video cameras, and other technology for tracking down criminals. As a result, you often find these outlaws forgetting to wear a mask and gloves, or take other precautions for preventing themselves from being discovered.
Characteristic Number 4: They never know when the game is up. In the 1990s, there was a video of a man who was pulled over for speeding, and then ran away from the cop on foot, never mind that the cop had his keys, his license, and his car. A lot of stupid criminals are like this: They just don’t know when to quit. Running or fighting when you are good and caught is always a bad idea.
Characteristic Number 5: They almost always get caught. One hallmark of a stupid criminal is that he almost always lands himself in jail. Part of what is so funny about these crooks is that the mistakes they make almost always result in them getting caught.
Stupid criminals always do the darnedest things. There are a lot of them out there, but thankfully this usually means more entertainment for us. If someone you know tends to exhibit these traits, chances are you know a stupid criminal.”
Anonymous….Stop hiding. You are foolishly giving yourself away. Come out of the hidden darkness and serve the right Master so you don’t end up in eternal jail.
In the words of Pope Francis and Jesus Christ, “What’s it to you?”
Cowardly Annonymous.
Shows us in line and verse where Our Lord said “What’s it to you?”. As far as we who contribute to this site, you made it a matter of our concern by you asinine remarks. FYI, in his off the cuff remarks, Pope Francis is no more infallible than I am!
Did you even dare to read the writings of Bishop Vasa on this subject of being judgmental that I posted on this Site?
May God have mercy on your compromised soul,
Kenneth M. Fisher
In the words of our Lord…The Story of Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:1-16)
Adam and Eve had two children, Cain and Abel. One day Cain and Abel made offerings to the Lord. Cain brought an offering to the Lord from the fruit of the soil, while Abel brought one of the best firstlings of his flock. The Lord favored Abel’s offering over Cain’s offering, which made Cain resentful towards the Lord. Out of jealousy, Cain led Abel to a field and killed him. The Lord asked Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” Cain answered, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” The Lord punished him, allowing him only to be a wanderer among the earth. However, the Lord still loved him and blessed him by marking Cain and saying, “If anyone kills Cain, Cain shall be avenged sevenfold.”
Kenneth Fisher, Pope Francis was referring John 21:22.
Catherine, thank you for taking a stand against capital punishment. Pope Francis himself just reiterated the Vatican support for the abolition of the death penalty. A very timely Bible quote.
Anonymous,
Why are you still hiding if you have nothing to be ashamed of? God was telling each of us in that particular bible quote that we are our brother’s keeper. St. Maria Goretti cared about the souls of her neighbors and she worked from heaven on behalf of the man who murdered her. St. Maria Goretti also knew that purity was very important. Anonymous, There should be no reason for you to hide unless you are disobeying important Church teaching and you are embarrassed and ashamed or perhaps just rebelling against God. Are you ashamed of your faith? Then why do you hide. Alessandro Serenelli was spared the death penalty and he would tell you to choose God over choosing sin. Are you also on board with Pope Francis’s recent statement that reiterated the existence of a corrupt homosexual lobby within the Church?
Please Google and read this in it’s entirety. It is a beautiful article!
St. Maria Goretti And Her Murderer by James Likoudis
“Again, the story of St. Maria Goretti is simple, but it contains many lessons for the people of today. One of those lessons concerns what would shock many today- namely, the “goodness of guilt”. A Canadian philosopher, Dr. Donald DeMarco, has observed: The notion that we can commit sins and become guilty of moral wrongdoing does not sit well with citizens of the post-Enlightenment. It clashes with their self-esteem; it is unscientific, unmodern and unfashionable. Yet throughout history the prevailing consensus has been that guilt is a natural response to one’s deliberate and voluntary complicity in moral wrongdoing, and that man persists in suffering both in body and in soul when his guilt remains unconfessed and unatoned.
It was by a miracle of grace that the murderer of St. Maria Goretti, Alessandro Serenelli, would come to confess his guilt and be reconciled to God. He was a young man who had grown up to be religiously indifferent, sullen, coarse, and finally violent. St. Maria Goretti would be the young Virgin-Martyr who would transform that young man’s life in dramatic fashion.
As we read the pages of the Old and New Testaments, we see that God, the Author of Life, expects everyone to lead a chaste and pure life, not to indulge in sins of the flesh. Maria Goretti gave her life defending her purity rather than to yield to the sinful desires of a young man driven by anger and lust. Living in the same household with the Serenellis, the father Giovanni and his son Alessandro, had already proved very trying for young Maria. Both father and son abused alcohol, Alessandro had posted suggestive pictures of sensuous girls on the walls of his bedroom, and did not practice the faith. In response to his indecent overtures, and being repeatedly repulsed, on that fateful day July 5, 1902, the frustrated Alessandro was to stab Maria 14 times, causing her to suffer an agonizing death. She succumbed the next day of her wounds. She had repeatedly warned Alessandro he was risking eternal damnation.
As she lay dying, when the parish priest of Nettuno brought her Holy Viaticum and asked whether she forgave Alessandro, she replied, “Yes, I forgive him and want him to be in Paradise with me some day.”
Soon afterwards, there was general recognition by all who knew her or had become aware of her martyrdom: “That girl who was killed at Conca was holy.” There was popular acclaim that Maria had shown extraordinary courage at the most critical moment in her young life- a fortitude that may well have stemmed from her reception of the strengthening Sacrament of Confirmation at the age of six.
It is interesting that in the many biographies that were soon to appear concerning St. Maria Goretti, the words of the greatest of theologians, St. Thomas Aquinas, were aptly quoted: Not only is a martyr one who dies rather than deny a truth of the faith, but he also who dies for the sake of some virtue, or to avoid sin against any commandment.
Pius XII who would beatify the 11 year-old martyr in 1947 and then canonize her on June 24, 1950, noted that St. Maria Goretti stood not only for purity of soul and body but also for “mastery of the spiritual over the material, for docile love of her parents, for sacrifice in harsh, daily labor, for poverty accepted as the Gospel teaches us to accept it, for love of prayer and of Jesus in the Eucharist, for charity in her heroic forgiveness [of her murderer].”
Anonymous,
Once again and on behalf of St. Maria Goretti and her murderer Alessandro Serenelli who repented for his sins. Are you also on board with Pope’s recent statements regarding the corrupt homosexual lobby within the Church and do you reject the evil corruption of the homosexual lobby within the Curia and within the Church? Do you agree with St. Maria Goretti’s sacrifice of choosing death before choosing to sin? Be sure and read this entire article. It is very beautiful and it will help you reflect on the reason that you always want to hide in shame or fear. Be a light for Christ like Alessandro became so your support for the removal of the death penalty will not be viewed as an insincere smokescreen that fools no one but yourself.
Catherine, is that your real name? What is your last name?
Anony if pains me to see how much more confusion you bring with your some of your comments….Our Lord is not confusion but you seem to bring that.
“for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace; as in all the churches of the saints” 1 Corinthians 14:33
Anony it’s irrelevant! It does not matter what her last name is. You are proving nothing. At least when she posts as her post name…we know who she is and her track record but you…are Anonymous…anyone can be Anony and it can bring confusion….another person can not take her name because then there will be confusion…she may correct that by asking that they use an Initial for last name , or like others have done…they use Bob one or Bob two…etc…but at least there is no confusion….what are you afraid off Anony…are you a retired Bishop or priest? Just wondering….anything goes with such a name Anony…
I can’t find the post where she said her real name was Catholic. Then she lit into a bunch of offensive gay lobby stuff again. I agree it does not matter what name someone uses. So I don’t use one. The website fills in the blank.
@Annonymous; @Anton L Seidl , is not Judging but giving warning, totally different.
Its a sin to see someone falling into sin and not try to help them repent. Judgement is at the Throne of God, this is fair warning.
Repent.
Bwangi,
You are trying to counsel the coward according to the teachings of the Universal Church. You must know by now that this coward is a member of the “Church of Nice”!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Which anonymous are you talking to?
Anony that is your view not Christ’s….you do not know that passage about the paved with skulls.
Regarding judgment in the words of Our Lord:
“DO NOT JUDGE BY APPEARANCES, BUT JUDGE WITH RIGHT JUDGEMENT”. Jn 7:24.
CCC: ” 2326 Scandal is a grave offense when by deed or omission it deliberately leads others to sin gravely.”
Catholics must NEVER donate to groups or organizations that help to send Souls to Hell. It is uncharitable to tolerate sin, or to approve of it by omission.
He’s quoting St John Chysostom and if it’s good enough for a Saint to say it it’s good enough for Anton .We CAN judge the actions of others and we CAN use the imprecations of Saints’ as examples.
No it’s a fake quote but much beloved by bishop haters.
Bishop haters? Wow…..not at all….
If they are bishop haters then what are you? Identity name hater so you go by Anony? or are you some kind of other hater?
Probably not but I just wanted you to see how absurd your name calling came across. I’m sure the ones you aim to call a bishop hater may come up with a name for you that you seem to be a hater of, but they don’t. I don’t ever recall anyone make an argument and label you a hater of something and I’m sure if they were faithful, they may not be far from the truth if they elected to label as such.
Anony. I know that you are more intelligent than that….why use those terms. It’s not justified is just shows ignorance on your part. Just saying..in all fairness here but not argumentative.
I did read about a saint quoting that from reliable Catholic resources. There is more to that story I’m sure as to why? As for me, I don’t care to find out…my prayers are to get to heaven and I cling on to Jesus Christ…Our true love!
Our Lord has already judged and therefore we can preach and repeat what our Lord has already showed us. We need to be faithful and honor His ways, our lord has already declared what is sin and asks us to resist sin and because of His mercy He has shown us how to repent, honor by avoiding sin.
If we begin with fearing the Lord, surely how can we not be pleasing to our Lord? He will show us the way.
“In the fear of the Lord is confidence of strength, and there shall be hope for his children.” Proverbs 14:26
Anonymous, what other sins do you advocate?
HERE is proof positive that these Bishops and Nuns endorsing the “Faith in Public Life” document are SCHISMATICS. and publically causing scandal and therefore should be excommunicated.
CCC: 2089 “….. schism is the refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him.
On the Vatican web site search: “Apostolic Letter Motu Proprio – “ON THE SERVICE OF CHARITY”. This is legislation, not a suggestion.
“ Nevertheless, to the extent that such activities are promoted by the Hierarchy itself, or are explicitly supported by the authority of the Church’s Pastors, there is a need to ensure that they are managed in conformity with the demands of the Church’s teaching ….. “
“ In carrying out their charitable activity, therefore, the various Catholic organizations should not limit themselves merely to collecting and distributing funds, but should show special concern for individuals in need and exercise a valuable educational function within the Christian community, helping people to appreciate the importance of sharing, respect and love in the spirit of the Gospel of Christ.
The Church’s charitable activity at all levels must avoid the risk of becoming just another form of organized social assistance.
“ Article 9 § 3. It is the duty of the diocesan Bishop and the respective parish priests to see that in this area the faithful are not led into error or
misunderstanding; hence they are to prevent publicity being given through parish or diocesan structures to initiatives which, while presenting themselves as charitable, propose choices or methods at odds with the Church’s teaching. ”
“ Article 10 § 3. In particular, the diocesan Bishop is to ensure that charitable agencies dependent upon him do not receive financial support from groups or institutions that pursue ends contrary to Church’s teaching.
Similarly, lest scandal be given to the faithful, the diocesan Bishop is to ensure that these charitable agencies do not accept contributions for initiatives whose ends, or the means used to pursue them, are not in conformity with the Church’s teaching. ”
“ Article 11 The diocesan Bishop is obliged, if necessary, to make known to the faithful the fact that the activity of a particular charitable agency is no longer being carried out in conformity with the Church’s teaching,
and then to prohibit that agency from using the name “Catholic” and to take the necessary measures should personal responsibilities emerge. ”
And when there is any dispute within a Diocese the “Pontifical Council Core Unum” will make certain that this Apostolic Letter will be “applied at all levels”.
Their email address is on the Vatican web site.
Code of Canon Law – – – – 1267 – §3. Offerings given by the faithful for a certain purpose can be applied only for that same purpose. “
.
Mike,
Thanks, but what is sadly missing is ENFORCEMENT! Talk and writing is cheap, actions take courage!
God bless, yours in their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Mr. Fisher I agree
Let’s stop this insidious evil right now.
These Bishops, Nuns, Professors at Catholic Universities, and Theologians, and other organizations who support sin, – must be disciplined for their support of mortal sin and schism against the Teachings of the Church –
within the “Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Editon” and the Apostolic Letter issued Motu Proprio “On the Service of Charity”.
The Groups must never be permitted to advertise themselves as “Catholic” organizations again including the LCWR.
And the individuals must be excommunicated under Canon 1399.

– – Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith – cdf@cfaith.va

– – Your own Diocese Bishop.
Let’s not just complain to each other – let’s do something about this lack of adhering to the Code of Canon Law by US Bishops who do nothing causing the loss of Souls.
If US Bishops are still refusing to discipline and excommunicate those in obstinate mortal sin who commit SCANDAL, HERESY, SCHISM, REALATIVISM and SACRILEGE against our Lord, – then we’ll just have to storm the Vatican (figuratively speaking) ourselves.
I see that you don’t have to look far to find true wickedness from some the retired Bishops. We need to pray and ask Jesus to help us to be obedient to Him, let us learn from only the good and humble and trust in the Lord, for the Lord’s greatness is great!
“But if you will not yet for all this obey me: I will chastise you seven times more for your sins,” Leviticus 26:18
“And I will visit the evils of the world, and against the wicked for their iniquity: and I will make the pride of infidels to cease, and will bring down the arrogancy of the mighty.” Isaiah 13:11
In order to appease our Lord for these offenses let us pray with might and proclaim to the world that Jesus is our Lord and savior. Offer up to our Lord prayer and fasting. Lord forgive us for the actions of these men and women who are dissent and only bring forth more confusion. May our Lord have mercy.
“He also shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mingled with pure wine in the cup of his wrath, and shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the sight of the holy angels, and in the sight of the Lamb.” Revelation 14:10
“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:11
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12
Why am I not surprised, at all, to see my former Bishop’s name on that list?? I actually expected it. Our Lady of Bethlehem, pray for us.
Surprise, surprise! All of these “bishops” have been featured speakers at Mahony’s now Gomez’s REC. So as to not mislead, they have not yet been speakers since Gomez came on board.
I knew the young Fr. Ryan when he was at St. Matthias in Huntington Park, CA. Seeing him now gives great credence to the theory that they lie low and act orthodox until they get POWER!
Unfortunately, we have no reason to believe that the 2014 speakers list for Gomez’s REC will be any different.
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
How tragic these Old Liberal bishops, who have a lot more yesterdays than tomorrows, are willing to place their eternal souls in grave danger by endorsing unnatural ‘marriage’ and abortion. It is time for either CCHD to conform to the teachings of the Catholic Church or for Catholics to stop giving money to them that funds the promotion of mortal sin. I sure hope and pray the USCCB would have the backbone to do something about this, but that might mean not having a place of honor at some banquets.
Clinton,
You mean like at banquets with the Obamanation, Biden, or Pelosi etc. etc. ad nauseam?
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
I once was privileged at a Human Life Conference in Irvine, CA to meet the late Bishop Sullivan who was the predecessor to that disaster Ferraro. When I told him that I was surprised to see a bishop from Hawaii at this Conference because of Ferraro, he nearly broke down and told me that he had bombarded Rome with exposes of Ferraro and he was disgusted when Ferraro was made a the Bishop of Honolulu. He begged Rome not to make Ferraro a Bishop, the rot is deeper than most of you think.
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Oops! my bad, it was the late Bishop Scanlan who told me how he had tried to stop Rome from elevating Ferrario, but in one sense it could have been Bishop Sullivan, you see there were two Bishop Sullivians, the Catholic one and the heretic one!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Bishop Joseph Sullivan passed away on June 7th from a car accident. May God rest his soul.
Pray for his soul!
The chancery offices of most North American dioceses defend and promote dissident priests and bishops, and will come to their rescue if need be. If a priest is loyal to the Church’s Magisterium, then the lavender mafia in the chancery officce will certainly black ball him and make it almost impossible for him to find an assignment. Priests who are faithful to their sacred vocation very quickly lose their position of church pastors, and are put out to retirement, or are not given an assignment. If a band of five or so angry heretical parishioners go down to see the bishop, the bishop will back up these heretics, and will not defend the orthodox pastor. Despite the fact that more than twenty faithful parishioners have written letters of support for the priest, the ordinary of the diocese will side with the liberal dissenters. In clerical circles this is a well known fact. A conservative priest is forbidden, while visiting a friend, to say a private Mass, in a private home, while liberal priests can say a Mass on beach front property, wearing only a bathing suit, and nothing is said. A retired bishop is supposed to have permission to address public gatherings, but the heretical bishops make up their own laws as they go along. Shame on those wolves in sheep’s clothing who pick and chose whom they will prosecute. Any cleric who undermines the faith and morality of the laity must be silenced. Until this is done, the Catholic Church will continue to self-destruct, scandal will be spread, and the precious faith of the people will be lost.
This happened to my faithful pastor and another faithful priest in the Boston diocese under the guise of combining the Church’s in the new collaborative. They want more priests but there are about 50 pastors without a job.
God help us.
Father Karl, it sounds like you have had a difficult experience with your Bishop…to put it mildly.
I urge all of you to pray for Fr. Karl.
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Mr Fisher will do….
Father Karl, you rightly pointed out, “If a band of five or so angry heretical parishioners go down to see the bishop, the bishop will back up these heretics, and will not defend the orthodox pastor. Despite the fact that more than twenty faithful parishioners have written letters of support for the priest, the ordinary of the diocese will side with the liberal dissenters.” I am here to say it is much worse than even this. I have first hand knowledge of the exact opposite happening as well. When orthodox parishioners complained about a dissident and heretical pastor to their bishop, this pastor not only didn’t get disciplined but rather was placed in a high level of authority and power within his diocese where he remains today. This is maybe why when good people on this site suggest that we complain to our Bishops about abuses in our parishes, I need to first discern if that action might make it even worse for the entire diocese.
The situation we are now in is so evil that I believe we need continue to heed our Blessed Mother an Pray, Pray, Pray. And she is hearing our prayers by little by little giving us truly faithful priest. We must pray for them as well.
Pray and stop funding corruption. Be careful where you give your offerings and make others aware of these abuses. Print out this article and share it with others in your church. Silence is a great friend if evil. If the bishop is a liberal heretic, go over his head.
Father, I know of a Priest who asked, successfully to be let go into the Fraternity of St. Peter and is now working his priestly life over there, doing the same old parish work, and preaching freely without fear.
Hint’ hint’.. leave the diocese and go live out your true priestly vocation.
Bwangi,
The Bishop who granted your priest request for release was probably at least trying to be a good Bishop. In most cases, and I told Archbishop Khai this when he told me he needed a letter of release from the priest’s bishop to accept him, the bishop is a heretic and will only give the priest a scathing attack letter. Fortunately the late Fr. Charles Fiore, FSSP/Dominican was to well known and had to many records on the bishops for them to do that to him, but they tried. How do I know this, Fr. Fiore told me himself. He was a good friend.

Father Karl is telling the truth. This monopolizing scourge or cancer within the Church has cost countless souls to be lost. Chanceries are filled with paycheck collecting professional Catholics and disobedient or lax clergy. If a bishop is good his diocese will reflect his goodness. If a bishop is disobedient or lax then a diocese will have trickle down laxness or corruption. This laxness or corruption affects what is taught to children in Catholic schools. There is no excuse for laxness. Christ is our example.
This is why Charles Wilson of the St. Joseph Foundation told conference attendees that ‘Rome knows how bad it is. They are waiting for the laity to speak up.” Is it not apparent that many in authority have either been compromised or hamstrung in fear for many years? May God bless the zealously faithful workers at California Catholic Daily and LifeSite news who are providing the forum for the laity to speak up. This forum of speaking up has caught the attention of disobedient clergy. Disobedient bishops could silence or remove faithful priests but they cannot silence free speech…that is unless good men and good women still prefer to remain lax or do nothing. Then we will all have an even clearer understanding of why Sacred Scripture says, “I say to you that he will quickly revenge them. But yet the Son of man, when he cometh, shall he find, think you, faith on earth?” Luke 18:8 Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible
The Servant of God Frank Duff who founded the Legion of Mary said that if each diocese had 12 zealous Catholics then the Holy Spirit could renew the face of the earth. Each pastor who is under the authority of a dissenting bishop would benefit greatly from having an active Legion of Mary within his parish. The Blessed Mother is noted all throughout Church history for softening the hearts of heretics and encouraging zeal in her priests who have become complacent in their holy duty. The faithful pastors who have fostered a thriving Legion of Mary within their parish realize without a doubt, just how powerful the Mother of God is in protecting her favored sons which are her priests as well as leading all souls to the fulness of truth.
There is no shortage of good priests. Faithful priests are the ones who have been marginalized, early retired, punished for teaching the truth and discarded. Faithful priests are a gift from God.
Prayer for the Beatification of the Servant of God Frank Duff
God our Father, You inspired your servant Frank Duff with a profound insight into the mystery of Your Church, the Body of Christ, and of the place of Mary the Mother of Jesus in this mystery.
In his immense desire to share this insight with others and in filial dependence on Mary he formed her Legion to be a sign of her maternal love for the world and a means of enlisting all her children in the Church’s evangelising work.
We thank you Father for the graces conferred on him and for the benefits accruing to the Church from his courageous and shining faith. With confidence we beg You that through his intercession you grant the petition we lay before You . ……………
We ask too that if it be in accordance with Your will, the holiness of his life may be acknowledged by the Church for the glory of your Name, through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
Amen, Amen, Amen
Tracy,
Read my comments about the late Bishop Scanlan of Honolulu, HI!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Kenneth, I believe I read all of your post and can’t find any about a Bishop Scanlan. Could you please tell me the date and time of this post?
Archbishop Khai loved the Legion of Mary. I think he told me that he knew Frank Duff personally.
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,

Father Karl: You are obviously better informed than most of us and I fully accept what you say as factual. Your portrayal is most plausible and explains the dismal state of the Church, especially here on the west coast. As a traditional Catholic, having been reared in the same country, and during the same period, as our beloved Pope Emeritus, I have felt alienated for many years, especially so since the end of the second council. I am sustained only by my faith in God, and know that the truth will triumph in the end, and that the powers of hell will not prevail! God bless you and all faithful priests!
Mr Karl is correct….One of our priests from another parish in which I use to attend, the priest was fairly new, he was more traditional than most of the NO priests and he really defended the faith…..but word went out that he received a lot of heat on much of his devout ways…..he changed because of the pressure from higher up and so and didn’t seem as holy and devout anymore. I noticed that his passion and zeal for the faith and to minister to the faithful went low. We all noticed the changes in him. It’s too sad to even talk about….
CCC: ” 2089 ….. Heresy is the obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with divine and catholic faith, or it is likewise an obstinate doubt concerning the same,z “
Code of Canon Law: THE OBLIGATIONS AND RIGHTS OF ALL THE CHRISTIAN FAITHFUL
212 ” §3. According to the knowledge, competence, and prestige which they possess, they have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church
and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful,
without prejudice to the integrity of faith and morals, with reverence toward their pastors, and attentive to common advantage and the dignity of persons. “
Thank you CCD for this article. The actual schismatic report “FAITH in PUBLIC LIFE” which includes the endorsements of these heretical and schismatic Bishops, plus the LCWR, Sisters of Mercy of the America’s and more, can be found on the internet by searching:
” Tell Me Who Your Friends Are .. 06-19 ” by ChurchMilitantTV.
Look to their links at the right of their screen.
It’s important that we all see this documentation.
We must all bear witness to the TRUTH.
“Using guilt by association and other tactics from the McCarthy-era playbook, these activists are part of an increasingly aggressive movement of Catholic culture warriors who view themselves as fighting for a smaller, ‘purer’ church,” it reads.”
Praise God! Pope Francis is right. They ARE annoyed and irritated. This is an even clearer example of a pot of homosexual lobbying activists calling the faithful kettle black, simply for wanting to remain faithful or pure.
Pray for the conversion of these bishops who have abandoned their Catholic faith. Has habitual sin also blinded these men to such a disgraceful degree that even they do not recognize that they have become warriors for Lucifer and they are being led by a ring in their noses by the greatest father of all liars?
Homosexual lobbyists and birds of the same feather just made their own open pronouncements of rebellion towards God while flocking together. Guilt by association? ABSOLUTELY!
“Bishop Kevin Dowling of Rustenberg, South Africa. Retired bishops Archbishop Fiorenza, Bishop William S. Skylstad of Spokane, Bishop John Cummins of Oakland, Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, Bishop Ricardo Ramirez of Las Cruces, Bishop Peter Rosazza, Bishop Sylvester Ryan of Monterey, Bishop Joseph Sullivan, and Bishop John Leibrecht of Springfield-Cape Girardeau. Archbishop Fiorenza and Bishop Skylstad are both former presidents of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.”
The Gospel of Matthew 7: [13] Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. [14] How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it! [15] Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
[16] By their fruits you shall know them.
We see your fruits. In the Holy Name of Jesus, I beg the Eternal Father to destroy his enemies, Satan and his demonic hordes and render them harmless to man. St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle. St. Joseph, raised in honor today by Pope Francis, defend him and all bishops from the self-appointed monitors of false orthodoxy.
Annonymous,
Pray tell us what to you is false orthodoxy, is it reading from the Holy Word of God directly, quoting directly from the Magisterium, or is it telling people of the frequent messages from Heaven of Our Most Blessed Mother warning us of these evil times? Please enlighten us so that we may know YOUR truth and ignore HIS. NOT!
May God have mercy on your soul,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Kenneth M. Fisher, orthodoxy is adherence to the teachings of the Catholic Church. False orthodoxy is replacing or denying part of the teachings, while claiming to be faithful to the Church.
Be very careful of what you ask for especially before you have repented. You are not anonymous to God.
Of course, God knows me and he knows all those who attack His Son. Remember the Holy Catholic Church is the Mystical Body of Christ.
I often wonder if this Anony is a retired Bishop or priest? What does he or she have to hide with being anonymous.
Is your name really Abeca Christian?
How many Abeca Christians do you know on this website that posts…only one…but Anony’s there are many…what have you got to hide…are you a female or a male? Are you someone who also posts on another name or just anony? Who knows….
nick name on the web…..
Are you saying that using the anonymous default makes it hard for you to profile?
Bishop Sullivan met his end in a car acciedent. Hopefully he had time to ask for Our Lady’s interssession before meeting his Judgement.
Oh The Horror!!
Bwangi,
We are taught that for the most part how we have lived is how we will stand before God!

It’s probably more important to pray for our Pope and good Bishops – so that they will have the courage, strength and knowledge to drive the obstinate evil ones from Christ’s Church. And so that they will constantly think of eternity rather than being popular on this earth.
Jesus threw out the money changers, and turned over benches to get the evil out of the Temple
There is such a thing as sins of omission, and many of our other Bishops are at that point.
CCC: ” 2326 Scandal is a grave offense when by deed or OMISSION it deliberately leads others to sin gravely.”
All Bishops and each of us should examine our conscience for sins of omission.
Defrock, then excommunicate…Period!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now you know the real reason the church is in the shape it is, these bishops and others like them along with some priests and sisters are the enemy within, they were always against the Catholic faith, they just gave the false impression they were with the Popes
Ed,
Thank God and His Mother for making them expose themselves! Come August we will see even more of them nakedly exposed!
Viva Cristo Rey!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
The usual heretical and apostate suspects are out in full force to stick their collective fingers in the Catholic Church’s eye, along with a smattering of “seperated bretheren,” i.e., the Presbyterian minister chick, Butler, and the whole bunch should really know better, especially the nine “retired” bishops (REALLY?). WHAT ARE THEY RETIRED FROM? THE CONSTANT TEACHING OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ? Some, like Gumbleton, are not real surprising in their dissent. But what of our new Pope Francis? Is he aware of the stand of this motley collection of “retired” bishops? And how long will it take until he gets to the proper chastising of this bunch? Questions I submit that usually take forever to be resolved, while the faithful, in their usual clueless disarray, with huge gradations in their knowledge and / or practice of the Catholic Faith, hang twisting in the winds of rank secularism, often marinating in their fecklessness. And I wish the lib retards trying desperately to defend the USCCB WOULD STOP USING THE TERM “McCarthyism” in their desperate ploy to turn this into an issue of the “good libs” vs. the “bad conservatives.” Joe McCarthy has been getting gradually rehabilitated from being the cosmic bad guy so promoted over the past 50-plus years, by the left and their cohorts, and it’s happened over the last dozen years. McCarthy is now increasingly seen by fairminded critics as being some 95% correct in his assessments of the Communist conspiracy of the early ‘fifties in the U.S., especially since the opening of the Venona archives in the former Soviet Union. check it out. Another terrific news story from CalCath. GOD BLESS ALL, MARKRITE
markrite, have you sent the new Pope a copy of this article? Or do you expect the Pope to know everything like God does ?
If you have not actively helped, you are part of the problem. Yes, the heretical and schismatic Catholics are a problem – but we each must do whatever we can to fix it. Let’s not complain; let’s write to the proper Church authorities and get others to do the same.
Catholics who at home read the Bible, and the CCC are not clueless.
markite,
God in his wisdom has deemed that I would come to know some ex-Securitate and KGB Officers, and they all confirmed what you just wrote about the late Senator Joseph McCarthy, Roman Catholc!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Ted B.
I went further than you are telling others to do, I went to Rome under the sponsorship and accompaniment of a Roman Catholic Archbishop, and I gave all of the Dicasteries a full report on the Diocese of Orange and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (Lost Angels). Nothing came of it. I even met with then the American Secretary to then Cardinal Ratzinger. I was supposed to meet with the Cardinal but he was called away at the last minute. I was given the same line that the Magisterium knows how bad it is and encourages the laity to continue to write. What has happened since then, NOTHING!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
I must object to the title of the article although I realize that you just re-posted what was on Lifesite News. In the report it says that church funds should never go to organizations that directly support causes that are in opposition to Church teaching. The title is an good example of some of what the report complains about.
The Title is 100% correct.
” Retired bishops join pro-Planned Parenthood group in call for Catholic funding of pro-abort orgs ”
Read the “28 page report” which is linked in this article. The Report is ” Faith in Public Life.
All these Bishops, plus various Nuns and their groups have their endorsements printed as part of the report – near the beginning.
Planned Parenthood has supported this report. They want Catholic donation money.
They are not pro-abortion groups.
No CCHD money goes to Planned Parenthood or any other abortion provider.
So much confusion…
I am not surprised at all to see Bishop Cummins on the list. While the first bishop of Oakland was a good and strong bishop on these matters, his successor Bishop Cummins just let the clergy do anything it wanted. So rebellious was that clergy that when then Bishop Vigneron succeeded him and called a meeting of all the clergy only 10 showed up! He managed to set the gyroscope right but was promoted to Detroit, where he came from, and Cordileone was left with a Church going in the right direction but with many wayward leftovers. Now it’s Bishop Barber’s challenge, which inspires confidence. I think there will be a reaction from the national hierarchy. This is evidence that an OPEN PUBLIC SCHISM is upon us very soon, as Akita prophesied :”cardinals against cardinals, bishops against bishops.
You are being very kind to Bishop Vigneron and Bishop Cordileone. While both Bishops are good and holy men, they lack the fortitude to discipline disobedient priests.
Bishop Cummins on the other hand is simply a disgrace, a homosexualist and true heterodox.
Yes there was some weakness there, but the problems were so overwhelming. Both Bishops started to quietly put people in important places who were orthodox, ie in catechetics for one. Remember also the enormous debt for the Cathedral and that both bishops had never had a small diocese of their own to learn how to “bishop”. What do you do when the priests boycott meeting their new bishop? Because of these bishops’ quiet spadework Bishop Barber will have a freer hand.
I hope you are right about our new Bishop but he comes in as a newbie with no experience as well. I’m concerned with 1) his comments that he plans to lead by example which will not work in my opinion; and 2) allowing Jerry Brown to receive communion which was a scandalous act. To your question as to what to do when priests boycott meeting with their new Bishop… simple, discipline them and/or remove them, swiftly and publically. That is how one leads and that is how one will earn the respect of the Faithful.
These bishops must think St. Paul was McCarthy on steriods.
Anne T.
Republican Senator Joseph McCarthy, Roman Catholc probably had a great devotion to St. Paul.
Real Public Servants, when accused of being McCarthyites, thank the accusers for the compliment!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,

UM, wasn’t he the guy that invented photoshop?
I know, Kenneth. I have read before that when certain Russian archives were opened, Mc Carthy had been right on a lot of things. Still they misuse and defame this man’s name.
Ha, a rogue’s gallery of bishops, unworthy to wear the mitre. You can bet that these same clowns rarely spoke with pro-lifers in any but dismissive terms, yet go ahead and fund these groups associated with noxious agendas. There are plenty of service groups clean as the wind-driven snow who would be better beneficiaries of CCHD funds.
If Moral Relativism is for you, join the Society of Friends, the “Quakers”.
It seems too much to expect the Catholic hierarchy to uphold, defend and otherwise champion Catholic teaching. It is no longer the Church I embraced in 1960. I haven’t left the Church, but more and more I get the feeling the Church is leaving me.
Father,
Some of them, to keep up the subterfuge, did occasionally go the the abortion mills and pray the Rosary with the gullible who did not bother to really know what they were!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Ted,
In these times especially, Our Lord and His Mother needs you, stick with it. You are in His Church, many others may no longer be so, but you are. Moral Relativism is a feature of the “Choice of Nice” a church you want NOTHING to do with.
But you are not alone, we all feel that way at times. A good Mass, and a few Rosaries always gets us over it. Read the story of the Siege of Czetochova on the TFP site. For give me if I spelled the Polish title wrong.
Viva Cristo Rey!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Quote from “Evangelical Catholicism” by George Weigel, page 113:
“Many bishops conferences also took on the character of men’s clubs, which was theoretically no bad thing (bishops needing club-like friendship as much as anyone else), but which in practice virtually eliminated the ability of bishops to criticize one another or to call one to account for doctrinal errors and failures of governamce, even behind closed doors.”
Sins of OMISSION.
St. John Chrysostom, one of the Four Great Doctors of the Eastern Church, teaches us that, the bishops involved will likely merit no mercy at all. The Saint-Doctor, who had “had it” with the heretical and immoral bishops of his own time, proclaimed: “The floor of Hell is paved with the skulls of rotten bishops.” St. John Chrysostom understood the Catholic teaching that “the higher they are, the farther they fall.” Popes and bishops are more likely to be in Hell or Purgatory because they failed to meet the standards of their high office, which (remember) they voluntarily assumed. It isn’t just a matter of wearing a fancy hat; it is a matter of enforcing the Catholic Faith among their clergy.
God Bless
Fiorenza has never been a big supporter of Pro-life. He lives by the political correctness creed as a professional fence-sitter with an eye toward becoming an archbishop and now lives with the disappointment of DiNardo (who is not much better) getting the red cap. Does anyone have 10 millstones we can borrow?
Do you ever get the idea that the Catholic Church is the largest organization in he world that has NO ONE in charge? The Pope says or writes one thing, Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Altar Boys, and everyone else does what ever they want.
I learned a long time ago that the four marks of the Church ARE that it is ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, AND APOSTOLIC. No way can you consider this ONE
church.
None of 0these dissidents employees (Bishops and Priests) is ever punished or relieved of duty. NO ONE is in charge.
What a shame!
Do these bishops realize that they will also be judged?
Do they know that they are accountable for those that might lose their faith?
I can tolerate this and more coming from a regular secular person, but from a bishop?
Oh Lord, have mercy on us.
Teo,
The late Bishop Austin Vaughan, when I told him that I did not believe most of his fellow bishops believed in Hell, told me “oh! no Ken, they believe in Hell, they just don’t believe anyone goes there, and that is silly because why would Our Lord have gone through the HELL he went through to save people from someplace no body goes to” He had a great sense of Irish prose in him. Oh how I miss his council.
Hope this helps you.
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Sadly, too many Catholics assume that their bishop is a devout, somewhat holy man.
If this were true, we would not have the homosexual scandals nor the child abuse nor the adherence to liberal DEMagoguery.
These bishops continue to hold their positions and their pensions—-without any discipline..
I always assume a priest or Bishop is faithful until they prove me otherwise.
John,
What you have written is exactly why Catholics who wish to remain so, must study true Catholic History!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
They need to be defrocked and laicized as soon as possible…starting with Mahony…his penance should be a bus pass, a single room in downtown L.A., and feeding the homeless daily at the local “hobo mission”…with true contrition and a stern penance, he may yet merit purgatory if he’s fortunate
I use the Capital Improvement fund and Church Maintenance envelopes rather than the offertory envelopes in the hope that the money will remain within my local church’s jurisdiction. Also, I have stopped giving any funds to Catholic charities and find Mary’s Meals (still Catholic but so effective and non political) and other wonderful programs in which to give my money. If these rotten areas of the church were hit where it hurts…in their pink pocketbooks, perhaps we could start making our frustration known?
Let’s all call for these Bishops’retirement support to now be funded by Planned Parenthood since they apparently favor their brand of religion rather than our own?
The non-signatories to this report had better act darn fast to retract all this or they might find that their annual Bishops Appeals will fall on deaf ears…I hope.
Camille my friend, WE ALL HOPE!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
I want to be sure I understand the issue. If CCHD gives money to an organization who does great work with the poor, etc., but belongs to a coalition of other agencies, which coalition may support same sex weddings or are pro-choice as an aside of their regular works of mercy, the Catholic group must get out of the coalition and not work with its members to end poverty, etc? (sorry for the run-on sentence). If that is the case, then the Catholic group is not likely to work with other agencies to be a productive at their work as possible. Is this what we whould support?
Bob-One, Catholics should never financially or in any other way support any organization that defies the teachings of the Church.
This is made very clear by “On the Service of Charity” that you can find on the Vatican web site. It also contains that Catholic charities must preach the Gospel rather than becoming merely a social services organization.
Faithful Catholic Charities have the ability to give directly to the poor, and cut out further bureaucracies as well. There is no need to give to charities that promote sin or sinful lifestyles.
Never TOLERATE sin, and certainly do not pay for sinful acts. It sends Souls to Hell.
The ultimate goal is always to Save Souls.
Bob One,
For once you probably unintentionally got something RIGHT! THEY MUST BE DEFUNDED!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
If we de-fund every organization that belongs to an association that has members who don’t agree with us, or which itself sanctions actions we don’t believe are moral, it would make it difficult to accomplish as much as we do. I can see, however, that we should never fund an organization that does not agree with the teachings of the church, period. If an agency agrees with all the teachings of the church, but belongs to an “association” that includes other agencies that may not agree with our teachings and beliefs, and even supports actions contrary to church teachings, does the Catholic agency have to get out of the association. What you are saying, Kenneth, is that yes they must not belong to the association. I’m not sure I agree with that option, but, again, I’m not sure. It would on the positive side certainly direct more money to purely Catholic agencies and I don’t have any problem with that. Maybe unintentionally I agree with you. Wow!
Bob One, did you read the report?
False Bob-One – we can give directly to the poor, or directly to one Charity.
This would cut out all the costs of keeping many organizations running – bureaucracy.
We don’t do anything good by joining evil coalitions or donating to any group that violates Church teaching.
. Is this what we should support?,,,Absolutely we must never cooperate with intrinsic evil, but I guess in the world of Bob One he figures the Communist and Nazi’s fed the poor as well so they were actually OK.. Bob One personifies whats wrong with the Church…..
Canisius, I simply asked a question. I didn’t, as I so often do, state an opinion.
Well your opinion Bob One being a liberal “catholic” is wrong……your morally relative
Bob One: Don’t fall into the trap of moral relativism. When you lie down with dogs, you will wake up with fleas. Remember always: Money is fungible.
Scandal everywhere we look and listen. But what a joy to read all these comments, to know that you are OUT there. The holy Roman Catholic Church still exists in our hearts and souls…….that is, if we follow the teachings of Jesus and His Church. As JPII said, “Be not afraid”, look up because your redemption is at hand!!!! I love you all.
It is about time the CCHD was cleaned up. Deo gracias! Now Pope Francis needs
to clean out all these schismatical bishops. They have a lot to answer to God when they go to meet him.
BobOne – those organizations that preach, teach or adhere to sinful practices must never receive Catholic donation money.
We can give the money directly to soup kitchens and other organizations that do not promote evil, or directly to the poor like St. Vincent de Paul.
Evil organizations want our money to further their own goals.
CCC: ” 1822 Charity is the theological virtue by which we love God above all things for his own sake, and our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God. ”
Assisting in sending Souls to Hell is not Charity.
CCHD just announced that it has awarded $9 million in grants. Renew CCHD usually releases its press release closer to November when the collection is.
Sorry. Reform CCHD Now usually releases its press release closer to November.
Stop supporting CCHD altogether. There are many worthwhile charities that do not become engaged in questionable activities. Ever since the ACORN scandal was exposed, CCHD has been off my list. Anyone with such poor judgment should not expect contribution from hard-working parishioners.
@Dana, you are right on. Every diocese I know about taxes their parishes based on the ordinary offertory, that is, the first collection. Using building and maintenance funds is an admirable way to avoid diocesan taxation.
Good point. Let’s avoid giving in the ordinary offertory, so we can control where our money goes.
Canon Law: ” 1267 §3. Offerings given by the faithful for a certain purpose can be applied only for that same purpose. ”
Let’s not forget to give to the poor as well through St. Vincent de Paul or another faithful charity of our choice. We are commanded by Jesus to help the poor.
Not one post addresses what is in the report. Did anybody read it? I see some people recommending the ChurchMilitantTV video “Tell Me Who Your Friends Are” and I finished that video wondering if Michael Voris had read the report. In a 11 minute video, he never once talked about the contents of the report. He says it is full of distortions and half-truths but he gives no examples. It takes him 6 minutes to even get to the report because he sets the stage by trotting out all the trite stereotypes that start his audience’s blood boiling-Democrats, Vatican II, social justice, government programs, sexual revolution, Cardinal Bernadin (and the proven lie that he believed all life issues were equal and again confuses the seamless garment with consistent life ethic) and finally Obama. He carries on about how pro-life Catholics are marginalized and bullied in the Church, second class citizens who have no special collection for their cause. He promotes the false dichotomy that Catholics are either Pro-life Catholics or social justice Catholics. (Good Catholics are both.) He wrongly asserts that the groups funded by CCHD bolster and support same-sex marriage, abortion and population control. (Anytime a group has been found to do so, they have been defunded. And, at first, the CCHD thanked the man who later joined with American Life League for telling them what he found and said they appreciated the extra set of eyes and ears.) Mr. Voris does proudly admit that militantcatholictv is a member of Reform CCHD Now. He also is correct that initially some bishops responded to the reports by dialing back their support for CCHD (thus keeping all the money for their diocese-he didn’t mention that.) However, in just a couple of years, Reform CCHD Now (American Life League) had made so many blunders and falsely accused so many organizations that they have been totally discredited. Their initial reports helped stimulate the reform of CCHD policies. It was decided that if an organization was part of a coalition who’s stated purpose was contrary to Catholic teaching, they would be defunded. Still undetermined was whether to fund organizations who, while doing nothing contrary to Church teaching themselves, were members of coalitions whose other members supported a position contrary to Catholic morals. This is what the report is about, how the poor and agencies that help the poor are being affected by this policy. As far as I know it is up to the bishop of each diocese to decide. Michael Voris contends that the intention of the report was to degrade the pro-life cause. This is why I wonder if he read it. Nothing could be farther from the truth. He also says that Planned Parenthoood and militant homosexuals come out with guns blazing in support of the liberal Marxist Catholic Crowd and against Reform CCHD Now. I can find nothing online that indicates that Planned Parenthood or militant homosexuals even know that they exist. If someone finds something, let me know. At least Michael Voris doesn’t participate in the trashing of retired bishops, only in general does he refer to them as liberals. I love Michael Voris but he did a sloppy job on this one. He just trotted out his standard script and gaye us no useful information at all. Maybe he will follow up with something more substantial.
Anonymous, a link to the full report itself was provided by ChurchMilitantTV and Michael Voris – so everyone could read it themselves – ACCURATELY. He can’t read a 28 page document in a few minute video.
ChurchMilitantTV almost always provides linked documentation, so people will know the truth.
The schismatic and heretical Bishops and other unfaithful organizations listed themselves as endorsing the document Faith in Public Life – Voris did not. Their endorsement is printed as part of the document.
Yes, based upon “On the Service of Charity” Motu Proprio, it is up to each Diocese Bishop to decided about money for specific charities within his own Diocese. However, we all know that there are good Bishops and bad Bishops.
* * In fact over the years the vast majority of Diocese Bishops have been known to send money to the CCHD when they openly gave money to pro-abortion groups and pro-same-sex marriage groups.
We must NEVER donate to any group that is contrary to Church teaching.
This includes but is not limited to pro-abortion and pro same-sex marriage groups.
In addition, Catholic charitable groups are required to preach the Gospel or Evangelize and not be just another social services organization – per on the “Service of Charity” – go to the Vatican web site for more info. “On the Service of Charity” is a requirement, not a suggestion. – Read it.
Catholic Groups or Catholic Charities should NEVER join any coalition which violates Church teaching either.
Catholic Charities can give directly to the poor.
All these bureaucracies that feed off our dollars (the cost to keep all the bureaucracies/additional organizations in business) take our money that should go directly to the poor, rather than in their pockets.
It is never Charitable to promote sin – in any way.
Dottie, Thank you for your response. Yes, there was a link to the report. Sometimes he does more than one episode on the same subject. Maybe there will be more to come. I agree that it would take more than 10 minutes to really respond to the report. He did also link to His previous investigations of CCHD. I hope he and other members of Reform CCHD Now will address this issue from the report in more depth: ” [They] are putting at risk vital anti-poverty work and creating a culture of fear around community organizing.” As of this post, the only response I can find from ALL is to link to this article on CCD. It may take time, but, all political posturing aside, this is the core of the issue. Are the poor being hurt? Are people who are genuinely trying to do good being falsely accused? Do we need to find or create other organizations to help the poor? What level of purity is attainable in today’s society? There is also a real double standard going on. If you google LifeSiteNews and click on homosexuality, you will be taken to a site that includes articles both critical of and supportive of gay rights. If one of these CCHD funded groups had an article on their website like those on LifeSiteNews, Reform CCHD Now would be calling for them to be defunded.
There is no vital anti-poverty work that can not be accomplished directly by the CCHD, without a “coalition” formed with those pushing anti-Catholic beliefs.
We do not use any article to form or learn our Faith – use the “CATECHISM of the CATHOLIC CHURCH, Second Edition” as directed by Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and now Pope Francis.
And also regarding Charity we must conform to – “APOSTOLIC LETTER ISSUED ‘MOTU PROPRIO’ of the Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI
ON THE SERVICE OF CHARITY “.
There is NO DEBATE.
Those who disobey are schismatics and/or heretics.
Apparently you have not read the CCC on the difference between homosexual acts, and homosexual persons (those with same-sex attraction who try to lead a holy and celibate life.
LifeSiteNews has never supported any article that promotes homosexual acts.
Provide one article that says sodomy is good. You can not do it.
You are right, I had not made the distinction.
Well today it is rare ….a homosexual who is holy and celibate. If so he wouldn’t promote the idea that he is a homosexual because he will honor God. A person struggling with same sex attractions and does not act is a person as such and that is a holy person seeking to be celibate because of those struggles.
Modern Charity in the USA –
Why do you think the schismatic organizations and Bishops who asked to be named in the Report are complaining ?
It’s not about helping the poor; its about keeping their illicit ideas and organizations afloat with our money.
Organizations that support abortion, contraception, voluntary sterilization, or homosexual practices – to name a few.
Catholics do NOT need them to help those in need.
Always follow the money – – –
“The ….tendency in modern charity, if we are correctly observing contemporary movement, is toward s a greater organization, even to the extent of making it one of the big business concerns of the country.
The bread-basket stage, the penny-in-a-tin-cup stage, the hand-out stage, have given way to the bureau and the scientific giving state. Statistics are replacing sympathy, and social workers are replacing emotions. ‘ – Bishop Fulton J. Sheen
Why should we support the BIG BUSINESS of Charity – especially those charities that are in coalitions that violate our Faith ?
How many pennies on the dollar actually reach the poor ?
Follow the money and you will see where one’s intent really is.
Oscar, you are right. Charities are BIG Business nowadays. Irrespective of their impressive labels, I always check out who these people are that want my support. Often, these outfits are world-wide in scope and are run by executives who make million dollar salaries. A recent study revealed that an astounding number of charities contribute less than ten percent of funds collected to the intended recipients.
The non-profits that receive CCHD grants are not Big Charity. It is always wise to check out the charities. I just received a phone call from a pro-life charity that said they had been fighting the pro-life cause for 30 years. I said “I’ve been involved in pro-life for decades and I have never heard of you. Do you have a website?” They did and when I checked it out, there is no indication of who runs it. With the phone call, I could hear in the background all the other telemarketers. The expose on the worst Charities in on the Tampa Bay newspaper website.
The EXPOSING of any “Catholic” person or other organization that belongs to Sinful COALITIONS is part of purging the Church of evil.
It is wrong to join with others – who defy Church teaching.
CCC: ” 1759 An evil action cannot be justified by reference to a good intention (cf. St. Thomas Aquinas, Dec. praec. 6).
The end does not justify the means. “
How can a coalition be sinful? Do coalitions that are not sinful go to heaven when they disband? Did Jesus die to save coalitions? Did he rise from the dead so that coalitions may have everlasting life?
Once again do not be shocked by any of this, all of the bishops listed are well known dissidents of the Church. They have been for years, and yet the S.S.P.X. and others are treated like dogs and outcasts. These same bishops fought tooth and nail against the Traditional Latin Mass and all that is Roman Catholic. We must retake the Church, there is no help coming from Rome so please do not look for it there. The Bishop of Rome as the current Pope likes to be called or call him Jorge another name he prefers will do nothing at all about this. Please don’t waste your energy writing letters or petitions, for it will fall on deaf ears as it has for the last 40 plus years!!! Lets all act like adults and come to the conclusion that we have lost control of the ship and it will not be corrected for decades. The clown and balloon masses continue, now we have the light sabre Star Wars Mass in Germany the other day, clapping, holding hands, giant puppets, dancing nuns, altar girls, drums, guitars, banjos, tamborines, kiss of peace, lay lectors, communion in the hand, wearing shorts, sandals, tank tops, low cut dresses, it just will not end any time soon. All seemed to be changing under our Holy Father Benedict the XVI, but it came to a crashing halt under the new Bishop of Rome Jorge, and you wonder why the S.S.P.X. is so so careful about coming home to Rome. I refuse to go underground again and attend Holy Mass at a cemetary, hotel meeting room, a basement and other places that make me feel like Iam doing something wrong by attending the Mass of All Times, that was the norm before Vatican II. Lets start demanding our Holy Traditional Latin Mass just as the liberal dissidents demand their giant puppet masses!!!
@Anonymous:
I read the report and googled the organizations mentioned. I agreed with one organization this report heralded but found the other organizations were tied to some groups that the Catholic Church should not fund. In any case, each group had some amount of material cooperation with bad actors and I’m not surprised that CCHD pulled their support. There are plenty of non-profits with no ties to morally objectionable groups who could rightfully receive CCHD money, so why bother get tied up needlessly in ambiguity?
I also found that the report doesn’t distinguish between the Catholic Church working with groups on issues where we might have a common interest and the Catholic Church FUNDING such groups. The level of material cooperation is much different, a moral distinction this report never cared to make.
The authors’ barely-disguised biases towards same sex “marriage” and “equality” were a disgusting reminder of how deep the corruption is in the Catholic “social justice” movement.
I’m not surprised that the report apparently was produced by a Soros front group.
FrMichael, GOLD STAR!!!!!! for reading the report. Thanks for your input. I think your points are extremely valid.
What about OBEDIENCE !
” APOSTOLIC LETTER issued ‘MOTU PROPRIO’ of the SUPREME PONTIFF BENEDICT XVI – ‘ON THE SERVICE OF CHARITY’ ”
(can be found on the Vatican web site).
” Article 9 § 3. It is the duty of the diocesan Bishop and the respective parish priests to see that in this area the faithful are not led into error or misunderstanding;
hence they are to prevent publicity being given through parish or diocesan structures to initiatives which, while presenting themselves as charitable, propose choices or methods at odds with the Church’s teaching. ”
” Article 10 § 3.
MIKE, yes. That is a given. We are talking about organizations who are not at odds with Church teaching, but have been targeted because of association with other groups. This is why it is called guilt by association. There are organizations who have nothing to do with abortion who are being called, as in the headline, pro-abort groups.
No anonymous. Look at the endorsers in the report –
“Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good” – a George Soros supported group;
“Catholics United” another political group for pro-abortion Obama.
The LCWR who has been warned and is being watched by the Vatican;
a bunch of former employees who violated Church teachings, etc.
These are pro-abort groups themselves.
They all want Catholic donation money.
And you can read about a few of the Bishops in the article above.
The public endorsers of the report – are not good people themselves. And they each have their own ulterior motives.
As posted by someone below: ” It is all very simple – – – – – – – Organizations that want money from Catholic Charities MUST denounce THEIR SINFUL COALITIONS.”
Fr., we can not work with groups that violate tenants of our Faith – under any normal circumstances what-so-ever.
Money is fungible. It can be moved within an organization to any of their stated or unstated goals.
What some of these organizations believe is not what the Catholic Church believes or teaches.
Also let us not forget about the mortal sin of SCANDAL to the majority of Catholics and non-Catholics who are not properly catechized.
I also read the report and googled the organizations.
I hope the good Father also googled the Vatican Motu Proprio “ON the SERVICE of CHARITY”.
This was posted by another on this site but needs repeating – – –
The EXPOSING of any “Catholic” person or other organization that belongs to Sinful COALITIONS is part of purging the Church of evil.
It is wrong to join with others – who defy Church teaching.
CCC: ” 1759 An evil action cannot be justified by reference to a good intention (cf. St. Thomas Aquinas, Dec. praec. 6).
The end does not justify the means. “
CCC: ” 2285 Scandal takes on a particular gravity by reason of the authority of those who cause it or the weakness of those who are scandalized.
It prompted our Lord to utter this curse: “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”
Scandal is grave when given by those who by nature or office are obliged to teach and educate others.
Jesus reproaches the scribes and Pharisees on this account: he likens them to wolves in sheep’s clothing.”
The CCHD is an arm of the USCCB. The USCCB collects money and provides money to them. They fall under the requirements of a “Catholic Charity” per “ON the SERVICE of CHARITY”.
You get a GOLD STAR, too. I like your inclusion of the CCC teachings. We are talking about organizations who do good, not evil. Here is an example: Should a after-school program in a gang area be defunded (and possibly closed) because they are in a coalition with other organizations for at-risk youth, one of who gets city funding that requires them to have a presentation on birth control? The coalition members meet twice a year. Contraception is never discussed at the meeting.
Catholics are not the only charitable organizations.
After school programs can be funded by the Federal Government, State or Local Governments, and non-Catholic charities if they support contraception or other mortal sins.
CCC: ” 1759 An evil action cannot be justified by reference to a good intention” (cf. St. Thomas Aquinas, Dec. praec. 6).
The end does not justify the means. “
Anonymous, there is no such thing as a SMALL MORTAL SIN. Contraception is a mortal sin.
Relativism – blurring right and wrong is what has gotten our Church into so much trouble today.
If they want our money, let them refuse their sinful coalitions, or endorsement of sin.
If they do not want our money, they can do what they want. It is their choice.
Thank you, MAC and PETE.
Motu Proprio – ” ON the SERVICE of CHARITY ”

(Let us also remember that ALL of those who are included in the Report “Faith in Public Life” as endorsers are schismatics and or heretics.)
It is all very simple – – – – – – – Organizations that want money from Catholic Charities MUST denounce THEIR SINFUL COALITIONS.
Yes, yes, yes, – Edgar.
You are absolutely correct.
@Many:
I think you are misinterpreting what I said (or meant to say). Let me try it again in a little more detail.
CCHD money going to groups that themselves profess positions contrary to the Faith should never occur.
CCHD money going to groups that might incidentally find themselves connected loosely with other maleficient groups for other reasons probably shouldn’t receive money. In the current environment of the culture wars and poorly catechized Catholics, IMNSHO we definitely shouldn’t fund these because scandal is so pronounced and there are other groups doing good things without entanglement.
A Catholic organization that happens to share a specific goal, good in itself, with a group that has a mix of good and evil positions, might on an ad hoc basis work on that goal together. That’s different from funding the other group. I’ll give the example of a Catholic parish and an Episcopalian parish located on the same dilapidated street. They might make common cause to the city department of roads and city council to repair the street, but no sin accrues to the Catholic parish by this collaboration, even though the Episcopalian Church has several positions that are contrary to the Gospel (schism from the Apostolic See, women clergy, same-sex marriage, divorce, etc.).
Fr.Michael, in the example you just gave, no Catholic donation money exchanges hands. No Catholic donation money is going to support evil acts.
No scandal is given.
When money exchanges hands, the Catholic Church (or Charity) loses control once that money has been handed over to others. Tracking the use of each dollar becomes impossible.
Canon 1267 – §3. Offerings given by the faithful for a certain purpose can be applied only for that same purpose.
“ON the SERVICE of CHARITY” Motu Proprio must be obeyed. There can be no futher discussion to violate this Apostolic Letter.
(see Vatican web site to read in total).
The Bella Dodd legacy is alive and well.
Today is the Feast Day of Thomas More and John Fisher. The contrast could not be greater. Fisher was a courageous and faithful bishop, who was made Cardinal towards the end of his life. These men show us the true way of supporting the Teaching Magisterium, the Pope, the Church.
Oscar, that’s why we shouldn’t give to these groups. I just want to be careful with some of the comments here that the Church can not work with sinful groups. The scenario of the two parishes and the dilapidated street I gave is an example to the contrary. We just have to be careful. And given the corruption and poor sense of balance of many Catholic “social justice” advocates and their enabling bishops, doubly so.
FrMichael, here is another situation. These orgs pay $50 to join a coalition and get a newsletter. Next year, they realize it’s not worth the $50 and stop paying. The coalition still has their name listed as members on their website and they get popped by the researchers at ALL. The folks at CCHD talk to the org, find that there is nothing amiss, but ALL won’t accept it and includes in their report.
Anon: If that’s a real world scenario, shame on ALL.
This is fiction. Stop it Anonymous. ALL has no way of getting private organizations mailing lists.
(Only the Obama Administration has the means to do that.)
All your fictional group would have to do is PUBLICALLY DENOUNCE their evil coalition group, along with the reasons why.
They use the internet sites. You can see their reports on their website.
One more time to Anonymous:
* * * * * * *
All the groups you would like to support have to do is PUBLICALLY DENOUNCE their own evil actions,
and/or PUBLICALLY DENOUNCE their EVIL COALITIONS as required.
* * * * * * *
PETE, This is what the report is about. In order to get CCHD funding, the orgs may have to leave the coalition. Those who wrote and endorsed the report feel that the coalitions are necessary and vital to anti-poverty work. I really haven’t endorsed the report or any defunded groups. I am trying to clarify the issues. The coalitions are not evil. (CCHD does not fund organizations which belong to coalitions whose purpose is to promote things contrary to Catholic teaching.) It is like this: Grocery store chains have fled the inner cities with their high crime rates. The city’s non-profits have a symposium to try to talk the chains into returning. It would be silly if a group funded by CCHD could not attend and give its input because representatives of the free clinic whose doctors prescribe birth control also attended. (This example is hypothetical.) I accept and respect all those who feel that funding an organization with an association (even indirectly) with an organization that practices or promotes anti-Catholic positions is unsupportable. This report (which is biased in favor of funding them) gives a look at the consequences of the decisions on funding or not funding. Some of the allegations made by ALL were true and the groups were defunded. Most of the allegations were found to have no substance and the groups were not defunded. However, details were not given for each instance.
It is NOT the MISSION of the CATHOLIC CHURCH to support every social services organization in the USA.
Evil Coalitions contain some groups that support evil – such as but not limited to: abortion, contraception, euthanasia, same-sex marriage, etc..
CCC: ‘1759 An evil action cannot be justified by reference to a good intention”. The end does not justify the means.
And per “Motu Proprio On the Service of Charity”, all Catholic Charities are required to Evangelize, rather than be just another social services organization.
Start being obedient to the Church.
All the groups who would like Catholic support only have to do is PUBLICALLY DENOUNCE their own evil actions,
and/or PUBLICALLY DENOUNCE their EVIL COALITIONS as required.
End of Subject.
” Those who wrote and endorsed the report feel that the coalitions are necessary and vital to anti-poverty work.” – This is correct. Most heretics and schismatics do not care about the teachings of the Church, that is why the LCWR and other endorsers and in hot water with the Vatican.
Actually they do care about there own heretical and schismatic beliefs and wish all of us to financially support them through some of the bad organizations – And this is the truth of the matter.
(Follow the money $$$$$$$$)
Relativism personified.
Anonymous, whether intending to or not, you come across as supporting giving CCHD money to those who choose to be involved in evil coalitions.
Anonymous: I would take issue with one of your assertions: “The coalitions are not evil.” It depends what they happen to support. Single purpose coalitions for good purposes are indeed not evil. But at least one of the coalitions (I don’t have time today to review the report again) has multiple purposes, one of which is “marriage equality.” I don’t lose sleep over removing CCHD funds from participating agencies.
FrMichael, two coalitions in the report-Minnesota Council of Nonprofits and TakeAction Minnesota do support marriage equality. The CCHD-funded Land Stewardship Project decided to give up its CCHD funding and continue to belong to those coalitions. They were defunded. I object to the term ‘evil coalitions” because it is inflammatory rhetoric. It is not accurate. I understand why it is easier to say “evil coalition” than “a coalition which has something sinful as one of its objectives.” I would strive for being strictly truthful. I, personally, do not agree with the recommendations in the report. I think the current CCHD policy is probably the best one-orgs may not have as part of their mission anything contrary to Catholic values; they may not belong to a coalition which has as one of its goals something contrary to Catholic values; organizations which belong to coalitions which may have another member organization who has a part of its purpose something contrary to Catholic values will be decided on a case by case basis. The final decisions are left up to the bishop of each diocese. MIKE, above, has graciously posted information from the Vatican pertaining to this subject which needs to be followed. This report is interesting for many reasons and it is important to hear what those who are affected by decisions have to say. One does not need to change to accommodate them. Sometimes you just have to say, “I’m sorry, we can’t help you because of…” No one is entitled to CCHD grant money and like Bishop Vasa said in the report, the funding is reviewed annually.
We DO NOT NEED the CCHD to give our money to the poor. We can better do it ourselves.
CCHD was established in 1969 by the USCCB
These are the types of work the CCHD does – Through annual grants provided in collaboration with local dioceses, CCHD funds community organizations, community-run schools, minority-owned cooperatives and credit unions, capital for business development and job training programs, and setting up rural cooperatives. CCHD has distributed over 80,000 grants to date. Examples of CCHD efforts to help the disadvantaged are working to provide people “access to energy-efficient, green opportunities funded by the federal economic stimulus program” and getting the city of Boston and its contract vendors to remove questions about some past crimes (illegal aliens) from job applications”.
Does this sound like feeding, housing and clothing the poor as Jesus stated or
does it sound like big business ?
Bishop Stephen Blaire, chairman of the USCCB Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development, and Bishop Jaime Soto, chairman of the USCCB Subcommittee on CCHD refuse to work with ALL and other Investigative Groups and put out a public statement to that fact.
The CCHD also gets grant money for its purposes from the Federal Government – this is why some Bishops are loathe to excommunicate some politicians who commit Scandal and Sacrilege. They are sleeping with the devil.
Be good boys, and I’ll give you more taxpayer money.
Amen Oscar, Amen.
I doubt many Catholics take the time to find out exactly how entrenched the USCCB’s CCHD is with the Obama Administration.
They themselves have an evil coalition.
Some of the grantees work on the issue of wage theft. Remember the 4 sins that cry to heaven for vengeance?
These men are going to hades…pure and simple..
On the net see: “Welcome Angel of Death 06-25” by ChurchMilitantTV.
This is the root of the problem. Saving Souls is no longer the goal. Many Church leaders have lost their way in favor of worldly things.
Where they spend their time, is what they value.
Mt 7:21-23 Jesus said –
NOT every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty WORKS in your name?’
And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evil doers’.
The USCCB needs to get out of big business, and stop cavorting with evil-doers, and supporting politicians who will fill their coffers with government grants – so they can do the bidding of the evil doers.
