Report from the last week of March, 2017

Dear Pro-life friends,

We are entering the final week of 40 Days for Life.  Last Tuesday, two more women came into Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center, which is located next door to the abortion clinic.  Both women were abortion-minded, and both received counseling.  Like many women on the fence, they left without making a firm decision, but the fact that they left the abortion clinic without having an abortion is a reason for thanksgiving. Please pray that they will open their hearts for a firm resolve to choose life.

40 Days for Life combines praying for women are are in a crisis, along with being peaceful public witness for the unborn. The goal of a 40 Days for Life campaign is to have a physical presence praying in front of the abortion clinic every day, even when it not open. This public witness can change hearts and awaken people who have simply lost awareness of the thousands of innocent pre-born babies who die every year in abortion clinics, sometimes located right in our local neighborhood shopping centers.

On Saturday morning in front of FPA, which was closed at the time, a man stood off in the distance by the shops, and watched us pray for a short while, then walked toward us on the sidewalk. He was curious why we were praying there, and then we pointed out the abortion clinic on the second floor. He said that a woman’s rights should not include taking the life of an unborn baby that was given to her by God. He was a man in his 50’s who said that in his early 20’s, he talked his girlfriend into having abortion because their relationship was not strong. He pressured her until she gave in. It was something he said he has always regretted. He thanked us for being there.

If you haven’t experienced praying in front of an abortion clinic before, or maybe it has been a few years since you have, it is never too late to start. Tuesday and Thursday mornings in front of FPA at 7340 Miramar Road are especially important, since that is when women arrive for abortions.

We do not have a closing ceremony planned for this campaign, but we invite everyone to join us in the final hour of the campaign as we pray the Rosary together on the sidewalk in front of FPA on Sunday, April 9between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm, when the campaign closes.
