June 8 in San Francisco

The following was sent by email on May 9.

After many hurdles, we have finally been given the permit for the June 8th Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally II at noon at the U.S. Federal Building in San Francisco. Please find the preliminary flyers attached for distribution. We will forward a flyer with speakers at a later date.

Here’s just some of our speakers for the upcoming rally: Fr. Jeffrey Keyes (St. Edward’s Parish, Newark), Eric Rassbach (Becket Fund), Jennifer Halbleib (Standford Law Review Editor), Eva Muntean (West Coast Walk for Life), Victoria Evans (Respect Life Coordinator-SF Archdiocese), Antoine Lamar Miller (Golden Vessel – Pastor), Kevin McGary (Frederick Douglas Foundation) and Marie Conway Stroughter (African American Conservatives).

We are very excited to use this event to promote the Catholic Bishops’ Fortnight for Freedom and hope to do everything possible to get all communities involved in this endeavor which is so very important for our country!

The first rally was paid for totally out of pocket. To date, we have raised 1/3 of our projected costs for this upcoming rally. If you know of anyone who might be willing to help with donations, please have them mail donations to the California Civil Rights Foundation at 1684 Decoto Rd., Ste 251, Union City, CA 94587-3544. They may also make on-line donations at

https://www.civilrightsfoundation.org/donate.html

Thanks again for making the first rally such a success. We’re hoping this one will reach even more people. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Joni Durling, Event Coordinator
California Civil Rights Foundation

This will surely inspire those who put religion first in their life.

I know bishops are busy, but it would be really nice to see the local ordinary of each diocese go to the rallies to support and show the congregation the vital importance of our unity. We have to continue to pray for our bishops and priests for strength and courage during these trying times. God Love You.

“Love cannot remain by itself-it has no meaning. Love has to be put into action and that action is service. How do we put the love for God in action? By being faithful to our family to the duties that God has entrusted to us. Whatever form we are able or disable rich or poor it is not how much we do but how much love we put in the doing-a lifelong sharing of love with others.” Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta So, let us act while there is still light. Let us give from what we have been given. Let us stand up and light just one little candle and not curse the darkness of our times. Jesus, we trust in you. San Francisco, here we come.

Seems like if they bishops are not able to attend, they should at least help fund the rally.

Dave N., 3:18 PM, The Bishops seem to have plenty of time for many inconsequential to the Faith things, but no time for this. Pray for Archbishop Neiderauer and his auxiliaries! God bless, yours in Their Hearts, Kenneth M. Fisher
