BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – One local pro-life organization was the recent target of vandalism and theft.
The pro-life advocacy and education organization, Right to Life of Kern County, is picking up the pieces after their banners around town were found slashed, broken and a third was stolen.
Marylee Shrider, a representative from Right to Life, said the group recently posted banners promoting their fundraiser dinner, Champions For Life, on November 9 at the Rabobank Convention Center.
The banners feature a picture of Governor Mike Huckabee, as well as information regarding the event.
Given the nature of their mission, to promote pro-life causes, the group said they feel targeted.
The slashed banner was repaired and returned to its original location at 8500 Stockdale Highway. The frame of the stolen banner is still at 3333 Truxtun Avenue and Right To Life is working to repair a third banner and return it to the original location.
