California State Treasurer Fiona Ma has been named to the Council for Inclusive Capitalism, an historic collaboration of CEOs and global leaders working with the moral guidance of Pope Francis to harness the power of business to make economies more inclusive and sustainable with a movement of bold, business-led actions that span the economic ecosystem.
She joins 27 global leaders across different sectors and industries who are committed to best practices for the development of inclusive economies and societies.
“This is the decade when we must address the environmental and social challenges of the 21st century, stop climate change, and improve people’s lives. It’s an honor to do that with Pope Francis and other forward-thinking people beside me,” said Treasurer Ma.
The Treasurer has committed to developing and promoting the following programs within her office that activates the power of capitalism for all Californians:
1.) Provide a retirement savings program for private sector workers whose employers do not offer a retirement plan by aiming to enroll hundreds of thousands of actively contributing participants into CalSavers by 2023.
2.) Expand low- to moderate-income families’ access to education by extending ScholarShare 529 plan’s Matching Grant Program in 2021 and aims to increase participation levels by 10 percent year over year.
3.) Help people with disabilities realize the opportunity to save and grow their money in tax-advantaged accounts by increasing program enrollment in CalABLE by 250 percent by December 2030.
4.) Promote a more just response to climate change by establishing a Green Bond Honor Roll and enlisting U.S. State Treasurers by 2023 who will make a public commitment to prioritizing the use of green bonds…
“You have set before yourselves the goal of extending the opportunities and benefits of our economic system to all people. An Inclusive Capitalism that leaves no one behind, that discards none of our brothers or sisters, is a noble aspiration worthy of your best efforts,” said His Holiness Pope Francis.
Fiona Ma is listed as a Champion for Choice in the 2018 NARAL endorsements for California elections.

The biggest thing that gets me is that the Church just doesn’t seem to have any supernatural character anymore. This doesn’t help matters. When I was growing up, it was easy to be Catholic/Christian because the culture reinforced and supported Christian faith. In such a circumstance, the lack of supernatural character in the Church could be overlooked; nobody noticed because pointed questions weren’t being asked since it was not uncomfortable to be a Christian and being a good Christian was hardly different from being a good person/citizen. Now the culture opposes Christianity. To be a good Christian is to be considered an undesirable person/citizen in many circles in America today. So what does the Church offer to the faithful to support them? This economic council in collaboration with people who are enemies of the Church? Where is the supernatural? Where is God? Where is Christ helping his bride? Of what real, practical benefit is authentic Catholic faith? It’s just suffering all around, every day, compounded by the experience that the Church doesn’t seem to have a supernatural character and her bishops and pope by and large seem to have sold out to the world.
Such fake melodrama: “the Church doesn’t seem to have any supernatural character anymore.” Give us a break: what are the graces that the people obtain from the Church’s sacraments if not supernatural. Moreover, it is not that the Church has lost any supernaturalness. It is that folks like Kevin T. have become blind to recognizing it.
Kevin T. how many times does God have to hit you over the head with it?
The lack of discernment at the highest levels of the Church is appalling. I never thought I’d see this sort of thing.
Lord, have mercy on us all!

Two of these companies sell contraceptives. I don’t get it.
““You have set before yourselves the goal of extending the opportunities and benefits of our economic system to all people. An Inclusive Capitalism that leaves no one behind, that discards none of our brothers or sisters, is a noble aspiration worthy of your best efforts,” said His Holiness Pope Francis.” So on the face of it, Pope Francis’ choice of Fiona Ma seems innocent. But her own commitment to an inclusive capitalism leaves the unborn behind, and we may be sure this is all well and good with her and not a problem for Pope Francis. When pressed, Fiona would found her abortion advocacy not just on unburdening women from unwanted babies, but on the need to reduce human population as part of the goal of fighting climate change. How many more global leaders in this collaboration share Ma’s views is a relevant issue. What kind of “moral guidance” can we expect Francis to give Ma and those of like mind? It will be interesting–and hopefully not heartbreaking– to see.
it’s already heartbreaking and soul killing. too late
‘Inclusive Capitalism’ is Catholic Social Justice gibberish substituting Central Planning for Peaceable Voluntary Exchange by self-anointed nomenklatura like Fiona Mafen and Francis.
Outrageous.

California, where Fiona Ma resides, is known for its obedience to the Population controllers and now a slew of them are being considered, by Joe Biden and the Pope as suitable for federal government jobs; Kamala Harris, V.P. Xavier Becerra- Sec’y of HHS, Fiona Ma-,for the Pope (did Biden recommend her?) and Eric Swalwell Congressman- favored by the Chinese government . All adherents of the Democrat Party agenda.
@ Camille Giglio – Many moons ago, you were the Director of a Birthright center in Northern California where I volunteered. I held you in high esteem for being a wonderful leader and tireless advocate for the unborn. You were a dignified role model for all of us. God Bless.
Camille:
You are SO correct …. unfortunately for Cali & USA
