The Sisters of Life and the Knights of Columbus will be hosting an all-new “Life Fest” rally on the morning of the 2023 March for Life to inspire the next generation in a “new spirituality of love and life,” according to a press release.
Life Fest will take place on the morning of the March for Life, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., on Jan. 20, at Washington D.C.’s Entertainment and Sports Arena.
“In the wake of the recent Dobbs decision, we see a profound opportunity to build the culture of life in a new way,” Sister Maris Stella, S.V., said in the press release.
The rally’s theme, “Because love is the answer,” highlights a Catholic, pro-life response to an increased need to support vulnerable women after the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade allowed many states to restrict or ban abortion.
“As Sisters of Life, we’ve been walking with women facing unexpected pregnancies for the past 30 years and we see the miracles born of hope,” Sister Agnus Dei of the Sisters of Life, told CNA. “We see that when a woman is loved and supported, she can do anything, she can make that choice for life.”
The sisters and Knights hope that Life Fest, which will feature live music and speakers as well as Mass and adoration, will move attendees to build a new culture of life, founded on a spirituality that embraces “every human life as a gift.”

Very good. And, being put on by two excellent groups, the Sisters of Life and the Knights of Columbus.
(Full disclosure: I am a Knight.)
Are pregnancies ever unexpected? Come on, everyone knows what causes pregnancy. That’s like claiming that death from a drug overdose is unexpected. Everyone knows that if you don’t want to overdose, don’t do drugs. So if you don’t want to become pregnant, don’t have sex.
Women who “find themselves with unexpected pregnancies” do not have my sympathy.
Mine was very unexpected. All I did was what I had been doing for 18 years. Never happened before. I had honestly completely forgotten that pregnancy could occur.
Eternal rest grant unto Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in Peace.
Our beloved Pope Benedict died this morning, Dec. 31, at 9:34am, in his Vatican residence. The
Catholic Church, and the world, has lost a former Pope who was a great and saintly soul. My heart is full of tears! But I am sure his saintly soul is overjoyed to at last be with God. We will miss him!
You don’t know he’s in heaven, pray for him, and keep at it.
The state of the soul of Pope Benedict is a personal matter, between his soul and God. You ought to be old enough to know, that after a beloved, great man of God or Pope dies, who has done much for God and for mankind– to mention “Heaven” is a courtesy, a lovely and respectful manner of speaking.
No. It is a non-Catholic way of speaking.
No, it is VERY respectful, especially for a very good and holy Catholic prelate and former Pope! Various Catholic journalists around the world have used the same expression. Don’t you know, that Pope Benedict also may be investigated for possible Sainthood? You need respect for him!
Same old “reply to”.
I had heard that Cardinal Gregory canceled the march for life events going forward now that Roe has been overturned. Mission accomplished.
The Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., announced that its annual Youth Rally and Mass for Life, which both typically take place in conjunction with the national March for Life in Washington D.C., have been canceled.

Efforts are being shifted to those states who need it.
Efforts should be turned to those states (and their state capitals) that still protect abortion.
If states get 1/50th of the turnout of National March for Life, it will be impressive.
Let it be people from the state.
What good is having a West Coast March for Life in San Francisco?
Your legislators are in Sacramento.
Look at the people in this photo. They are clearly looking for a party and “fun” rather than expressing any concern over what is a national holocaust.
Do you object to the title of the rally too?
No. I know, from experience, that these young people, and the good Sisters of Life, are very joyful and happy, proclaiming God’s Love, desiring to save the lives of unborn children.
If you agree with the title of the rally, then how does a photo not having the expressions associated with a festival add to the authenticity of the promotion?
