The following comes from a March 3 story on CBS (San Francisco Bay Area).
SAN FRANCISCO – More than 350 teachers in high schools administrated by the Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco signed a letter urging Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone to drop proposed morality clauses from the teacher handbook.
According to organizers, 80 percent of the faculty and staff at the affected schools signed the letter. Organizers said they received signatures from 126 teachers and staff from Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep, 87 from Serra High School in San Mateo, 74 at Archbishop Riordan and 68 at Marin Catholic.
“This language in this judgmental context undermines the mission of Catholic education and the inclusive, diverse and welcoming community we prize at our schools,” said Sacred Heart Cathedral teacher Jim Jordan, who helped organize the campaign.
Last month, Cordileone issued his recommendations for a new teacher contract, including a provision asking “administrators, faculty and staff of any faith or of no faith, are expected to arrange and conduct their lives so as not to visibly contradict, undermine or deny” church teachings. They include opposition to abortion, contraception and same-sex marriage.
The firestorm over the proposal has led to protests at Saint Mary’s Cathedral and lawmakers to ask for a state investigation of working conditions at the schools.
Last week, the archbishop said he would form a committee of theology teachers to review the guidelines and removed another controversial proposal that would designate teachers as ministers.
80% of faculty and staff signed the petitions? Wow, methinks it is time for a major change in the high schools or shutting them down.
I hope their contracts are not renewed. You can’t trust anyone who would do that to teach the kids.
You are entirely correct, “FrMichael” but Sam Singer has got to the teachers.
Now the Archbishop is faced with a true mutiny. But, he also cannot back down, or he becomes, in effect, castrated and ineffectual.
Perhaps it is time to tell the schools that they are failing in their positions and he may well obtain other teachers, or simply do so. In any event, Abp. Cordileone cannot change things that much.
In fact, he should relish the challenge. The fact of the teachers signing the letter is not good, but it shows who is teaching there. These are people who have no Catholic Faith. They believe in some fanciful “church” where there is no Catholic Catechism.
Excellency, please understand what you are faced with: Catholic school teachers and administrators that are self-defining their Faith, and self-enforcing it. Let them leave. They are the by products of decades of false teaching and vile misstatements about the Church and Faith.
Time to pick up the cross, good Archbishop.
FrMichael, I agree.
Close them and start over if necessary.
And those teachers and students who do not agree with the Catholic Faith should simply leave. – We will show them the door immediately.
The MORALLY CORRUPT are NOT welcome.
Catholic Schools must be “Catholic” in word and example, or they are fraudulent.
And this includes all employees.
This problem is due to previous evil BISHOPS in SFO who did not do their own required teaching jobs.
In addition, there are far too many non-Catholic teachers and students in the SFO schools.
Every Parish web site, and every Parish must start encouraging the literate to read the ‘Catechism of the Catholic Church, second edition’ (1997, dark green cover) which contains the Doctrine of the Faith.
A visible copy of the CCC must be in the classroom of every religion teacher as well.
Catholic parents YOU personally are accountable to God to teach your children the Faith – read the CCC and teach your children accordingly.
Or you also will be held accountable at your particular(personal) judgment.
“…This language in this judgmental context undermines the mission of Catholic education and the inclusive, diverse and welcoming community we prize at our schools,” said Sacred Heart Cathedral teacher Jim Jordan, who helped organize the campaign.”
The above would certainly indicate that the teaching staff is not clear about the mission of Catholic education. Either that or that there is a direct attempt to rewrite the mission statement of the Catholic Church.
In light of this attempt at corporate takeover, I’d say shutting down the schools and/or doing a thorough re-org is the only means to solve the problem. Nothing personal either – just vastly different mission statements. Sure explains a lot about why so many, educated in ‘Catholic’ schools, oppose what the Church actually teaches.
Methinks that Catholic educators (not in name only, but practicing Catholic educators) should consider moving to San Francisco sounds like there could be some positions opening in that archdiocese for qualified teachers.
I agree. Somehow this whole business isn’t too surprising coming from the San Francisco area – its reputation precedes itself.
Like a sore left untreated, Catholic schools (including universities/colleges) have been ignored by bishops, which has allowed CINO administrators and teachers to seep in and fester.
What do you do with such an infection? The bishops seem incapable, unwilling and/or complacent in doing anything about it.
Catholic schools, alas, I knew thee well….
Agreed. All those who signed should be given their walking papers. Faithful Catholic teachers come forth…..job openings at all Catholic High Schools.
SandraD….Exactly!
Have you ever watched how just one little rotten lemon in a bag taints the entire bag before long. You cannot sit back and pretend that the rotten lemon isn’t spoiling the good fruit. You have to remove it for the sake of the others. How very precious are each of the souls of these children to God but free will allows parents to make choices. It’s time for them to go. No one is forcing the parents to stay at a Catholic school. Their children can even be taught immorality and pagan ways for absolutely free of charge, (that is if you ignore how their souls are going to perhaps pay an even steeper learning curve price) at a public school in San Francisco. It seems as if their main concern is to push the homosexual agenda or the ability to brag to their friends that their children attend a “private school”. Let them take their personal agendas, opinions and children to an *anything goes* private school. This is no different than using innocent children to advance homosexual adoption. The activists in the weeping city by the bay are once again using children as bargaining chips to tell a Catholic bishop that he should not do his job. For those who signed the petition and they now show sincere remorse when asked to leave then they MUST sign a contract to agree that the school has the right to teach the Catholic Faith as the Church teaches.
I agree with the post of Fr. Michael. I think the whole Roman Catholic Church should shut everything down— and start a HUGE, worldwide re-evangelization! EVERYONE must be required to attend traditional Catechism classes, and learn thoroughly, the Catholic Faith and Morals! At that point, they all will be ready to begin once again, to be good, faithful, practicing Catholics! No more mixing the false beliefs of the secular, “fallen” world, with Christ’s teachings! You cannot follow both God and the “fallen,” secular world! We have truly had no
Church, since Vatican II!! Only a tiny remnant of faithful Catholics (a few clergy, nuns, and laymen) have been actually believing in, and practicing the Faith, since the Council! The false Catholic churches and schools of today, all need to be shut down– and start all over again! And those who decide they are not true believers, after taking good, thorough Catechism classes (including all clergy, nuns, and laymen) — must leave the Church, and go do something else!!
That’s right, shut the schools down if he must – it’s a better
choice than to knuckle under to rebellious employees.
As the leader of the diocese, he has responsibilities that
are commensurate with the power he has. If the schools
don’t want to be Catholic any more, just close them all and
fire the teachers. If the archbishop concedes, he has abdicated
his responsibility and hasn’t the credibility to lead.
And reopen them the following school semester with honest teachers who adhere to the CCC.
Fr. Michael: you are 100% correct!
First problem is stated clearly by the dissenter: “administrators, faculty and staff of any faith or of no faith, are expected to arrange and conduct their lives so as not to visibly contradict, undermine or deny” church teachings.” DUH!
That is exactly what they are supposed to do and to do it with honor! There are easily 350 good solid Catholic teachers who would love a steady job teaching the truth of the faith. Fire the bums and hire those willing to do as expected by their Bishop.
Prayers and support to Archbishop Cordileone!
The revolt builds momentum.
For far too long, “Catholic” schools have thumbed their noses at the teachings of the Church and now that an Archbishop is daring to have them adhere to it, they are squealing like stuck pigs. I pray very much for Absp. Cordileone. He is fighting against the legion of liberal/progressives/heretics. May Our Blessed Mother pray for him. +JMJ+
For ignorant teachers at the SFO Catholic schools, I have two questions –
1) Where in Sacred Scripture or the CCC (Doctrine of the Catholic Faith) does it state that the MORALLY CORRUPT should be employed at any Catholic School (or in any Catholic Diocese) for any reason ?
2) Please let us know where Catholics should or must allow “inclusive, diverse and welcoming” immoral activity?
Children and others learn by example, not only by words.
Those who lead a sinful lifestyle will lead others astray.
Immoral activity of any kind is NOT ok.
Keep asking them these questions, DAVID V.
Make them PROVE their positions using official Church documents.
Archbishop, FIRE the bums! They are not worthy to be teaching any children. They are a scandal, and Our Blessed Lord said it would be better for them to drown with a millstone around their necks than be a dangerous example to children. It is more beneficial to have a few good, solid and orthodox teachers than to have thousands of teachers who are heretics and moral misfits. May Our Lord, His holy Mother, and all the saints inspire you, Your Excellency, so you obtain the grace to stand up to these evil monsters.
Bravo padre Karl. Amen to your comments.
Archbishop Cordileone is a great gift to San Francisco for the health and salvation of souls. If the souls are so ill that they reject Christ and His moral teaching, they need a good doctor. May the Curé de San Francisco, Salvatore Cordileone, not succumb to the ills of the flock, but continue to lead them to spiritual health and eternal life.
God bless you Fr Rich. I agree.
Wow 80% think the Archbishop’s changes to the faculty handbook are not welcome. Methinks (and maybe the 80% think) the Archbishop should announce the whole gospel, not just the condemnatory “damn you all to hell” tone he prefers.
…by requiring folks to embrace Catholic morals as a requisite to teaching at ‘Catholic’ schools, +Cordelione is doing precisely what you advise, YFC. He is preaching the whole of the gospel so that folks, including those kids being sent to these schools, will not be damned to Hell.
The preference to stamp out the teaching and living out of the Gospel by the gag called tolerance is precisely what leads souls to sin.
But wait a minute, isn’t the problem here that it is the teachers who have been ignoring a good portion of the gospel, in other words the sexual morality portion?
Ah yes the ever predictable YFC, the ultimate “judge not lest ye be judge”.. What you want is tacit approval of gay sex YFC, I can see right through your nonsense. To the Archbishop condemn them all if though don’t tow the Church line tell them to get lost. Many of Christ’s followers left when they would not accept His teachings. Let these false Catholics go their little way.. we don’t need and don’t want them Smaller but Holier is the way to go…
Your Fellow “Catholic,” we ourselves are walking down the road that leads to Hell— when we reject God! God gives us free will, to freely choose Him, and to freely decide, to follow the pathway of Virtue, that leads us to Heaven!!! Whom do YOU choose, Your Fellow “Catholic?” Christ– or the Evil One? Christ is here, and He even DIED to save your soul! He LOVES you! He would like to teach you how to go to Heaven! It may be hard– but He will HELP YOU!! But the Devil does NOT love you— the Devil only wants to trick you into sin, and lead you down the wrong pathway, straight to Hell! Christ LOVES you– and He wants to lead you to Heaven! Why not CHOOSE CHRIST, and “say no,” to Satan??
YFC just what passages in the Gospel/sacred/Scripture are you referring to that you think the Abp is missing?
All require REPENTNANCE including Go and Sin No more.
I’m not aware of anything that states one should expose their children to the Mortally Sinful lifestyles of others.
So please provide the verse number so we will know you are not lying again to promote sodomy, adultery, or fornication.
Wow YFC, I guess according to you anytime 80% of any group says something they must be right. that is a very strange way of identifying morality…by a majority vote! That explains a lot about you and the dissidents who want to teach immorality to children in the name of “tolerance” while being paid by the very Church they despise. Nothing like numbers to convince yourself that sin is really not sin because “everybody is doing it.”
Alice, you are absolutely correct, however, YFC has shown that he also defines “morality” as when rogue judges legislate from the bench against the will of the majority of US voters. All he cares about is that his version of American society takes over and prevails.
How sad. How very sad indeed that teachers and staff should oppose the good Archbishop in this manner. Are they not free to teach in a public school where God is openly dismissed? Why infiltrate the ranks and faculty of Catholic schools when there is clear dissension with church doctrine?
Pray, pray, pray for our shepherds. The wolves are nipping at the heels of our good shepherds. St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us all in battle.

Thank you PETE, the Michael Voris video exhortation to defend Achbp Cordileone is worth watching and writing to the Nuncio. The Gays have infiltrated the Church and like the pre-eminent posts they now enjoy in the clergy.
With the idea about those in glass houses, Michael Voris shouldn’t complain when we say that those with rugs shouldn’t ponder the coverups of those they seek to unveil.
That’s hilarious Anon. Each time I hear “where lies and falsehoods are trapped and exposed” I can’t help but look at his head – is that a false hood?
No it is not. I saw him give talk at a Conference a few weeks ago.
It is all his hair.
(Many people probably wish their hair was that thick.)
Anonymous and James are just trying to detract from important and truthful messages. – Detraction is a sin, as well as calumny.
Thou Shall not bear false witnesses against thy neighbor.
Catholic schools. Catholic rules. Not worth having a religious schools when the teachers are disobedient to the bishop’s authority.
I cringe when I see “Who am I to judge” making its way into religious arguments. Jim says the language is judgmental. Sounds like the teachers may be closing ranks around their openly homosexual teacher-colleagues.
DottieDay – these are the accurate Bible verses.
When we speak the TRUTH, there are those who wish to silence us with false teaching. Do not let them get away with it.
Save these verse numbers for future use / quotes:
1) JESUS said: “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment “.
Jn 7:24.
2) JESUS said: ” first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye “.
Lk 6:42; and Mt 7:4
3) JESUS said that you will be judged with the same measure with which you judge. Mt 7:2.
Doctrine of the Faith –
CCC: ” 2467 Man tends by nature toward the truth. He is obliged to honor and bear witness to it:
It is in accordance with their dignity that all men, because they are persons . . . are both impelled by their nature and bound by a moral obligation to seek the truth, especially religious truth.
They are also bound to adhere to the truth once they come to know it and direct their whole lives in accordance with the demands of truth. “
Pray for the good Archbishop: May he stand his ground, taking the heat so that the true vision of Catholic Education may be realized in the Bay Area.
AbC has his predecessors, (Quinn, Levada and Niedeauer), to blame for much of this mess. I think the archbishop should do a “Reagan” and accept the resignations of all who signed the petition or a Scott Walker and wait it out. Maybe all non-working teachers who support the archbishop should update their resumes. And, bring on the good nuns (like the ones at Marin Catholic).
These dissenters are beyond ludicrous.
Amen.
No, not poor AB Cordilonne. AB is doing what he should do. Poor teachers who are disobedient to the faith, their bishop and who also are giving poor example to their students.
Oh, yes, heaven forbid an Archbishop in the Roman Catholic Church should expect “morality” from those he employs to teach in his schools.
Insisting on good, Catholic morals might damage…um…morale? I guess THAT’s their argument.
Luckily, they can get paid more money to avoid morals and teach in public schools, where no one will dare to mention God, the Ten Commandments, morality, or anything about holiness.
Bye-bye, teachers! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!
I think good Archbishop Cordileone should actually extend his morality clause, not cut back on it.
Specifically, the recent hullabaloo here in Fairfax about the upcoming closure of our local Catholic school, St Rita’s, has revealed precisely WHY the Archbishop should become ever more insistent on Catholic morals and identity:
– in our local paper, when we learned that St Rita’s would be closing due to lack of money, the principal proudly proclaimed: “we are not teaching about the Catholic Church, we focus on world religions, because this is what the people of Marin County want.”
– now, a couple of days later, the same principal blasts the Archbishop for not giving him truckloads of money to save a school that is surrounded by other solid Catholic schools. The principal accuses the Archbishop of “undermining” Catholic education – please!!!
– furthermore, the principal, John Black, arrogantly proclaims that if the Archbishop doesn’t do what HE wants, he will turn St Rita’s into an “independent” school, with no affiliation to the Roman Catholic Church.
SO MUCH FOR WANTING TO UPHOLD CATHOLIC VALUES!!!
Let us pray for our good Archbishop, who is trying to make sure our Catholic schools, elementary and secondary, are actually and honestly Catholic. His job is not an easy one, and Archbishop Cordileone needs and deserves our prayers and support!!!
He should extend it to the Elementary Schools. They have triple the number of students at least.
When will they be addressed? (ever?)
Indeed – the Extent of the Hatred for the Catholic Church & its Wise Moral Teachings – amongst those Anti-Catholic poseurs leeching off said Church while mau mauing us all the way to the bank – shows that Our Treasure is being Wasted subsidizing those who Hate Us and want to Destroy Us.
Of course – the ‘vetting’ process by which Good Candidates are excluded and only those toeing the partisan party line of the Abomination & its Gaystapo Enforcers, has caused massive harm to Catholic Education – which SSADly seldom is even remotely Catholic anymore.
The book “Goodbye Good Men’ by Michael Rose needs updating, but provides solid background at the sabotage campaign conducted for decades to encourage Homo-Anal Ephebophiles and Misandrist Bigots to live for free off the donations of the same faithful they denigrate every day in every way they can.
I say let them work in the public schools where their ideology is already running at fully dysfunctional throttle, heading over as many cliffs as they can on the way. OR – these ‘teachers’ could try to get ‘real jobs’ – although there is not much call for those incapable of reasoning their way out of a wet paper bag with a pair of scissors, which seems to reflect the caliber of the majority of signers.
Catholic Teaching is a Ministry – and these clowns are Not Ministers, nor are they even amusing as clowns – just tedious Misandrist Mau Mau Artistes, and we are better off without them.
The Archbishop has violated the unwritten prime rule of decorum in the Catholic Church: never highlight the fact that 80% of the people in the pews don’t actually believe what the church teaches.
Eighty percent is usually cited as the number of Catholics who don’t buy the Church’s teaching on contraception, and voila! It’s the same percentage of teachers and administrators who have signed this petition. Surprise! The majority of Catholics also support same sex marriage. These are not revelations to anyone who’s been paying attention for the last forty to fifty years or so.
The Archbishop has a long history of talking about change and projecting a public image of “standing for something” for his adoring fans, but really doing very little of substance. I fully expect he will back down in the end and there will be much backpedaling and face saving. But maybe this ONE time, things will be different.
….people need to realize Catholic is not a popularity contest/political party/social club. It’s not like you pay your dues or you were part of an “old family with a long Catholic tradition” who gets some oligarchical say in what goes on. Our bishops are our teachers and guides – they are not our representatives. We live in an age where we follow blindly our political representatives as our ‘bishops’ and then expect our bishops to represent our political standings. We quite literally have the roles reversed – Gavin Newsam says “weather you like it or not” and we cheer / Lionheart asks us to teach catholic ideas in a catholic school and we get our panties in a bunch.
As Catholics we either accept the entirety of the truth or we say “non serviam” and like in John 6:66 turn from Him and follow him no longer. This isn’t an “elitism” – it is basic logic. you either accept the teachings of the church or you don’t and go elsewhere.

Viva Archbishop Cordileone!
Support personally the Archbishop.
I do not live in the archdiocese (I have written more than once however), but the more people, who live in the archdiocese, who personally support the archbishop: speaking to him in person, making an apportionment (make sure you know all the details), writing him a hand-written letter – the more, on a human level, he will have courage against those who are against the Church, sadly many of her educators. Additionally, I wish he could be convinced to keep the “minister” clause; it will be very important and perhaps eventually necessary to protect the schools’ Catholic identity from private lawsuits and the state itself.
Who wrote the headline for this article? Come on!
It’s NOT poor Archbishop Cordelione but POOR teachers as they should all be fired
and the schools closed if necessary. What difference does it make? Heck, the students are not getting the Catholic faith anyway – the reason parents were sending them there in the first place. Back in the 80’s my 3 kids went from elementary through high school and they would have been better served if we had sent them to public school as many others that we know did. The public schools had a better record of producing faithful Catholics than the Catholic schools do. Go figure!
The title should be: “80% of teachers in SF Catholic schools are heretics”.
Thanks be to God for Archbishop Cordileone. Would that ALL US bishops take note and be inspired by the courageous actions of the good bishop!
And the sheep and the goats are separated…..
As the old saying goes:”GOOD RIDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH”.
The teachers can be replaced so let them go!
Sign and follow the agreement and be prepared to be fired if you break your word and signed agreement. There is a penalty for lying! Or did some of you even forget that?
I also support closing the Catholic schools, if it should become necessary to get rid of all teachers and students who act in violation of the Catholic Faith in words or examples.
Then these can be reopened a year later using only Faithful Catholic employees, and a student handbook that requires students also live according to the morals of the Faith or they will be expelled.
The CCC should be mentioned in all employee and student contracts/handbooks.
I have no sympathy for anyone who thinks Catholic schools should be required to violate Catholic teaching – as stated in the CCC.
Everyone MUST operate by the same rules.
The Archbishop is simply adhering to the teachings of the Church’s catecism.
CASE CLOSED!
And as far as St. Rita’s School in Fairfax goes, they have not been Catholic for such a long time…..been way off in left field for many a year! Had wonderful Pastors (in the past) and treated them rotten!!! Good, let them become an independant school, they don’t deserve to have the title of ‘Catholic’.
Thats right Elizabeth. God bless this Archbiship.
The current Pastor calls himself Doctor Weare rather than Father Weare because he has a phD and lists his doctorate on the bulletin website and everywhere else. This shows his true priorities: Status rather than Sacrifice!
The Demicrat Machine & its D.O.A. (Disciples of Alinsky) Gaystapo have a set of ‘rules’ bequeathed them by Saul A – and Most of them are being applied via the bought and paid for ‘free press’ to the Arch-Bishop and other Bishops throughout the Church.
This is particularly so in the former City of Saint Francis, now better known after dedicating weeks ‘honoring’ Racist Toddler Rapists like Larry Brinkin and the coprophile posse now led by senator Mark “Kiddie Porn King” Leno – as the nexus for worldwide transmission of treatment resistant STD’s – Sodom by the Sea.
Here are Just Some of the relevant stories buried under a steaming mound ‘tolerance’ on the media mushroom farm – where the ‘Vanilla’ (clueless taxpaying voters) are kept in the dark & fed ‘news’.

Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals has many admirers, including POTUS Barry ‘on the Down Low’ Soetoro and his Chicago ‘community organizer’ machine, as well as Presumptive President of the Demicrats – Hitlary of Rodham, who apparently knew and corresponded with Saul as a Mentor for her own political metrics.
SEE – and Compare the current Gaystapo campaign campaign against the Arch Bishop / Magisterium using all 12 Rules for Radicals, and this shining example:
“* RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy.
Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.
(This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)
Now we read in our Marin County newspaper that Archbishop Cordileone has once again backed down, because people got angry, and so he is allowing St Rita School to remain open:even though they don’t have the money to make ends meet, even though the principal brags about them caring more about “world religions” than just “the Catholic Church,” even though the principal wrote a very disrespectful letter in our paper attacking the Archbishop for being wrong, for not caring, etc..
If St Rita School is full of families who are not Catholic, if the curriculum focusses on “world religions” rather than the One True Faith, is the principal has so little respect for his own Archbishop, then close the school, encourage the children to register at the other schools nearby (which are TRULY Catholic!!!), and the Catholic Faith will be promoted. Otherwise, we’re just dumping our Church’s money and effort into a “private school” with a leadership that cares nothing about Catholicism:instead, they just choose to do “what the people of Marin County want.”
What is this, a coffee shop???
Maybe the percentage isn’t as high as San Francisco, but I’ll bet that there are plenty of teachers and administrators who agree with them in all the California (et al) Catholic schools. When you have a former bishop who stated homosexual priests made great pastors, you know that there is going to be a problem with the schools.
It would be interesting to find out how many Catholic school teachers left Catholic school (either voluntarily or were “asked” to leave) because they stood up to the school/diocesan hierarchy.
He is not poor, He is rich from Gifts of the Lord, as long as He perseveres with fortitude in God’s holy will. But we must not take away the reality of how much these trials bring much discouragement, we must support Archbishop Cordileone in his efforts to enforce true Catholicism. Because sometimes it seems like we can be outnumbered and all it takes is for us to unite and give each other encouragement. Lets continue to pray for Archbishop Cordileone. For these battles can be harsh and evil can seem to intimidate even the best of us.
Marin Catholic has 70 teachers; as the article states, all but 2 signed the petition, and as a result a close friend of mine is yanking her kids from Marin Catholic at the end of this school year. Actions have consequences.
In her view, as marginal as Marin Catholic used to be in terms of orthodoxy, the school has only gone further downhill in the last few years under the leadership of Tim Navone and even with the advent of the supposedly orthodox Dominican sisters. In the end, the outrageous tuition and mostly challenging academics is just not worth for her in exchange for the generic “be nice” education that’s mostly devoid of any real Catholic content. It sounds like they need to start from scratch but of course the elite community there would never allow such a thing.
what’s the alternative? public school? seems as if you have to home school in order to separate from the madness.
Personally, I don’t believe that Marin Catholic is apart of the dissent. The Dominican Sisters are the real deal–thank God for them.
Maybe you missed the part where all but two teachers from Marin Catholic signed the petition? At minimum, that would have to include one or more of the Dominican sisters. What makes you think they aren’t “part of the dissent”?
sigh
“It would be interesting to find out how many Catholic school teachers left Catholic school (either voluntarily or were “asked” to leave) because they stood up to the school/diocesan hierarchy.”
The question is Larger than just the Schools, as the hyper militant Gaystapo have infiltrated all manner of Church Functions (often as Paid ‘Lay’ functionaries), and see their First Duty to promote Misandry (Hatred of Men & Boys, Masculinity & Normal Heterosexuality) as a tool for ‘tolerance’ of their Aberrant, Degrading & Objectively Disordered Behaviors and Agenda.
When the ‘priest’ is a Notorious Homosex Activist, and they literally turn away Faithful Catholics from the Front Doors of the Church – because those adhering to the Wise Moral Teachings of the Magisterium have no place in their ‘profit / political activist center’ (formerly known as Parish)…
Then the Schools and all other functions of the ‘community’ become perverted in to serving the One Evil – as manifested by the Alinskyite Thought Police in Academentia – who may demand ‘tolerance’ for their outrages, but forbid even mention of their wrongdoing, let alone the Right Way.
Turning the Other Cheek is another way of saying ‘don’t sweat the small stuff’ – and its mostly small stuff) – but Surrendering the Children of the Church to Evil because those who practice such depravity demand it, or else – is the opposite of being tolerant.
It is being Craven in the Face of Great Evil – which is just how the Gaystapo likes things when enforcing their Alinskyite code of dis-conduct.
As one of those ‘Outed’ by the Gaystapo for supporting Proposition 8 Marriage via placement on their “Lavender Liberal” Stalkers List, which is used to retaliate against anyone so Un-Good as to fail to pander to their sick hatreds and vile perversions…
I think it only fair that the allegedly “Concerned Parents” funding this hired media assassin Also Provide their Names and Contact Information – just like Prop-8.
And Oh What a List it must be… Who knows, it may actually contain some actual Parents of actual Catholic Students… – along with Senator Mark “Kiddie Porn King” Leno’s Larry Brinkin Racist Toddler Rape Posse too of course, as they have an interest in teaching ‘tolerance’ to Catholic Students too. Opponents of San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone’s decision to protect the Catholic identity of Catholic schools have launched a media campaign in an effort to undermine the archbishop’s authority, according to Anne Hendershott in a recent article for National Review Online (NRO). However, she argues, despite the opposition, the archbishop has a groundswell of prayer on his side.
Bozell to CPAC: ‘Cultural Fascism Has Arrived in America’
https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/barbara-hollingsworth/bozell-cpac-cultural-fascism-has-arrived-america
(CNSNews.com) – “Cultural fascism has arrived in America,” Media Research Center President Brent Bozell said Friday in a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference.
“Tyranny is knocking at our door,” Bozell said.
“Webster defines fascism as ‘a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control,’” he said. “Cultural fascism has arrived in America.”
“Let us understand this soberly and unequivocally,” Bozell told hundreds of conservative activists.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we know this to be true. So it begs the question: What is our response?”
“Something terrible is happening to our country,” Bozell noted, listing numerous instances in which Americans in politics, the media, and academia have been persecuted for their political and religious beliefs, including the targeting of conservative groups by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which he called “the most feared arm of the federal government”.
Bozell reminded the CPAC audience that “the radical Left now controls most levers of political and cultural power, and is using both in a relentless campaign to destroy the last vestiges of freedom in America.”
– Bozell bluntly told the crowd that conservatives “have been retreating for decades” and urged them to go on the offense against those who threaten their freedoms.
“I do not ask you to defend yourself well in retreat,” Bozell told the gathering. “I ask you to stop the retreat…
Support the Archbishop of San Francisco as he moves to protect our children from being taught “error” by either ignorant, the catechized or those with an agenda against teaching the Truth in our high schools.Archbishop Cordileone thank you for keeping our schools Catholic:
https://action.groundswell-mvmt.org/petitions/archbishop-cordileone-thank-you-for-keeping-our-schools-catholic
Thank you for the idea of sending him a note of support, I will do that. I wish that there was an ongoing Spiritual Bouquet for him – today I offered my First Saturday Mass for him.
Yesterday, Archbishop Cordileone visited us at the 40 Days for Life prayer Vigil outside a Planned Parenthood abortion mill. He came out to say hello, thank us for our witness and to pray with us. It was wonderful! Afterward, my husband and I went to our daughters home and shared the wonderful news. She started lambasting the AB and our beliefs. She sounded exactly like the opposition in the SF Chronicle. The Lord said that He would pit father against son and mother against daughter……so saddly true. We accept and overlook a lot when it comes to our kids, but an attack on our good and holy Shepherd and our blessed Church will not be tolerated. We are “taking a break” from her and will continue praying like blessed Saint Monica for the conversion of her soul and that of every other family member. Anyone, like to join us for a “table for one”?
I hope you will soon reconcile with your daughter. Keep her close and cherish her presence in your life. She is your daughter, not your opposition.
YFC, you know nothing
You are correct SandraD he does not understand the troubles parents have to endure with defiant children. You are good to take a break from your daughter. She is a grown woman now, you are not obligated to keep a relationship with her, especially since she continues to push you and your husband away. There needs to be some respect and honor, which it sounds like she does not have for you and your faith. God bless you and may our Lord bless you with His justice, that some day soon you will be able to witness it and that God extends His mercy and helps return your Daughter back to His ways. Sometimes one can not fix a relationship, no matter how much one tries, and of course we can not condone sin either nor be driven to sin because of their choices.
So you are a good soul to know when to just hand it over to Jesus and let Him do His will. For you know well its not good to be around toxic people, especially if they do not help edify you in your spiritual growth. Your prayers and handing them over to God are the best gifts for now, until the Lord breathes a word of what to do next. Patience. easier said than done though.
SandraD I prayed for your intentions today…….please pray for me.
God bless you, I have much compassion for good parents who go through a lot. Its the cross we have to endure in this life, its often not a fair thing. With the secular world glorifying their bad choices, often good families find themselves vulnerable and persecuted. I look forward for our Lord to breath a word of justice but of course its to be on His terms and His will be done. Often times we humans are impatient and often do not really understand the “why”. May Jesus give you consolation and hugs.
I often find that curling up in bed and closing my eye’s and seeking Jesus to hold me during tough times, helps. I close my eye’s and beg Jesus to hug me and hold me tight. I feel safe in His embrace…especially when I go to an adoration chapel but i kneel there instead. If you have an adoration chapel where you can be alone with our Lord, go and spend much time there.
Jesus bless you sweet sister in Christ. You are not alone….keep on being a good parent, its the toughest job but all worth it!
Only a disgusting human being would “take a break” from her daughter because of a difference of opinion, and then when urged to reconcile, would denigrate the person urging reconciliation.
Anonymous that was a low blow. This anonymous is worst than his criticism. Because only a disgusting human being would criticise a good parent without knowing details of the situation. This anonymous must be some gay activist, that is the tone they use against people of fsith.
1) Pray for the Salvation of your children’s Souls daily;
2) Provide each of your children (and grandchildren) with a Catholic Bible, and with the “Catechism of the Catholic Church, second edition” (dark green cover, 1997) –
not to confront or convert – but if they should ever want know the TRUTH of what the Church teaches.
(I have encouraged my adult children to go directly to the source of what any religion teaches rather than accept hearsay.)
The Bible and CCC will probably collect dust for while, but eventually with God’s grace they may pick them up and read.
“….the CATECHISM has raised throughout the world, even among non-Christians,
and confirms its purpose of being presented as a full, complete exposition of Catholic doctrine,
enabling everyone to know what the Church professes, celebrates, lives, and prays in her daily life.” – Pope John Paul II (CCC pg xiv)
For accuracy and ease of reading, I recommend the RSV-CE (Revised Standard Version – Catholic Edition) LARGE Print Bible.
JESUS: Lk 12:51-53 ” Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth?
No, I tell you, but rather division; for henceforth in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three;
they will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against her mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. ”
…investiture in the Brown Scapular, the Miraculous Medal, and an understanding of True Devotion to Mary complete with consecration is also very important as the spiritual element, the very same ‘we’ don’t plan on, is what often comes into play despite many obstacles.
David V agreed. Good Catholic parents do so with love, they persevere with prayer. SandraD is a good mother and grandmother. Her life is filled with prayer. God bless her.
Thank God for your charity, SandraD. It’s often the hard example that demonstrates Faith. Those who advocate you keeping your daughter close despite her blatantly disrespecting you, the Faith, and your support of +Cordelione are of the false mindset that tolerating others seems to only be a one way proposal.
We never stop being teachers, especially of our children. And whereas words may not be appropriate, a time out often sends the necessary message.
Cherishing works both ways, YFC.
Sand-D:
I share your sorrow at the SSAD (same sex attraction disorder) Agenda harming so many families.
You were (understandably) short on details, but your family member may be so heavily compromised (at work, socially…) that even considering Politically Un-Good Facts causes a panic reaction– like fear of employment consequences to dissenters from the 900 Lb Mozilla Gaystapo Gorilla.
When Ernst Rohm’s Homo-Nazi Terrorist ‘SA’ Storm Troopers destroyed the Boy Scouts and forced all Boys in to a Pederast Rape Stable known as the ‘hitler youth’ – One aspect seldom discussed was the development of fanatical loyalty to the ‘party’ amongst the very young, who (like in Orwell’s 1984) gaily Informed on Anyone who failed to abjectly pander.
Peer Pressure to Belong led many to abandon family and community to join the jackbooted conga line of buggery – and the more shameful their behaviors, the more fierce their retaliation against those holding a mirror to their Evil.
Kind of like Stomping the last nagging vestige of conscience under a boot heel, as an act of ‘tolerance’..

P-FOX has plan, program for churches to open arms to ex-‘gays’
https://www.onenewsnow.com/church/2015/02/27/p-fox-has-plan-program-for-churches-to-open-arms-to-ex-gays#.VP3j_EKprFI
P-FOX has launched a program called Safe Exit to help churches become more hospitable to those struggling with same-gender attraction, or are in the homosexual lifestyle, and want to leave… while the homosexual community vilifies them for leaving.
The first element in the program is speaking engagements in churches.
“We want to provide resources on the information to help families…
McDermott, since you are such an avid fan of homosexuals in World War II, and a following of all things misandrist, why is it that you never remind folks that Alan Turing saved the world when he, along with his team, cracked the Enigma code, effectively disarming the U-boats? Alan Turing, who envisioned “computational machines”, inventing what we now call computers. Alan Turing, who was then convicted of – essentially – having gay sex in the privacy of his own home, was given the sentence of having to take estrogen so as to chemically castrate him and remove the effects of testosterone in his system. What is more misandrist than to force a man to take estrogen in place of his own naturally produced testosterone?
Sandra D,, what about love and patience and long-suffering and fortitude and the Saint Francis prayer?
I understand your feelings but we are called to rise above our baser emotions.
We must never Tolerate Mortal Sin of any kind.
If you love your neighbors, you will not want them to spend eternity in Hell.
That is true, but I am not sure that what Sandra D’s daughter said was a mortal sin. SandraD didn’t really say that; just that she lambasted the Archbishop and our beliefs. If lambasting a bishop is a mortal sin, there are a whole lot of people going to hell here.
….defending the truth and being willing to suffer for it is rising above baser emotion, Anonymous. The ‘base’ emotion would be to continue allowing one’s child to do that which they should not only to maintain a natural relationship. (The base thing may also be putting oneself in a situation wherein one is a constant spur to the other’s anger and/or anti-Catholic sentiments.)
Love is doing the right thing and often the hard thing. Patience can involve enduring the absence of a loved one for just cause. Long-suffering is enduring the vitriol of one’s loved ones and or their necessary absence in one’s life. And it is precisely fortitude that is what supports one in having to endure the above.
As for the St.Francis prayer, you may be assuming that all love is grown/sown in the same fashion. But whereas some plants require sun and lots of water others require shade and still others require very dry environs to actually blossom. Too much water and fussing makes their leaves rot.
So whereas you may believe you’ve got the handle on Sandra D’s particular plant, most likely, you don’t. She knows what she’s about.
I must say, good comments here Ann Malley, good examples you use too.
Ann Malley about that tea…..
I think you are trying to hide toxic parenting behind a religious facade.
Why wouldn’t you expect your children to have issues with the Church? You do.
People are people. Your kids aren’t any different than anyone else. They are not the Immaculate Conception. Don;t you think if God let you get away with not attending Church for 29 years, you could have a little patience with your kids? Everybody struggles with the Faith and the Church, just like you.
Sorry-God might not have made you kids any less rebellious than you are.
“….Sorry-God might not have made you kids any less rebellious than you are.”
Anonymous, this is precisely why pretending that this generation is so different than any other regarding their natural inclination to sin is absurd. And why consistency in the Faith is so necessary otherwise it does not show itself as the safe harbor of Truth, but the shifting tide that drowns so many. Constancy is patient.
“* RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”
Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy.
Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.
(This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.) —- NOT IF WE STAND WITH JESUS!
“Inclusive, diverse and welcoming”
That certainly does not describe the Catholic Church.
Now, a Catholic School would be different because it is taking lots of money from people to include them.

Your Excellency,
We’ve been monitoring the recent controversy surrounding your decision to insert morality clauses into teacher contracts in schools in your Archdiocese.
Given the hostility to the teachings of the Church and growing attempts to coerce our institutions, your decision is perfectly reasonable. As you know, such clauses are nothing new and represent a commitment to fulfill a basic promise to those families who entrust their children to the care of the Church.
We want you to know that we are praying for you and support you 100%.
As the Archbishop of San Francisco, you are responsible for insuring that all schools including the children in their care are taught the faith. To avoid any confusion, it’s indeed crucial that all those involved in the care of these children act in harmony with the teachings of the Church.
Our country’s tradition of religious liberty has enabled generations of Americans to benefit from the rich tradition of Catholic education. Catholics are rightly proud of the academic, spiritual, and moral education offered in our schools. This is why so many parents sacrifice to send their children to Catholic schools.
Parents entrust their children to Catholic schools for a reason. Pope Francis recently said: “We need to provide an education which teaches critical thinking and encourages the development of mature moral values.”

A note to forward to your friends (from Lifesite):
Hey there,
I wanted to let you know that I have just signed a petition called, “I stand with Archbishop Cordileone against shameful attacks!”
Gay activists, politicians and dissident Catholics have launched an all-out media attack campaign against the archbishop after he recently clarified that teachers in Catholic schools are expected to uphold Catholic teaching.
Did you get that? The archbishop simply said that Catholic schools should be…well…Catholic, and now local politicians, media, and educators are up in arms, accusing him of all sorts of ridiculous things.
We can’t let them get away with this.
By signing this petition, you can help send a strong message to those who are attacking the archbishop that tens of thousands are standing with him and support his efforts.
You can find the petition here: https://www.lifesitenews.com/petitions/i-stand-with-archbishop-cordileone
Thank you! And if you do sign, be sure to share it with your friends!
A friend of mine had a GREAT IDEA……get rid of all the teachers who are not wanting to be true teachers of the Catholic faith, and employ teachers who have graduated from true Catholic Universities, i.e. Thomas Acquinas, Ave Maria,
Franciscan University!!! They would be the ‘real deal’!!!
The poor Archbishop has picked a fight he should have known he couldn’t win. Now he has placed himself in a position where he will back down and look foolish for having tried. No one in the Church has enough courage of conviction to go up against the homo fascists and the sheep in their flocks that have abandoned the Magisterial teachings of our Church and have placed their immortal souls in jeopardy to be politically correct. Most of us are fat and happy and just sit back and watch this happen to the Church and our Lord. We should be ashamed.
Gary O he is not poor he is courageous. Lets pray for him. Im glad that he is at least giving his best fight. Lets support him.
@Abecca, Isn’t that what I said? I said that we are fat and happy and are just sitting back watching this happen like we have been for fifty years while dissenters, heretics, and homosexuals have been taking over Holy Mother Church. You give it your best fight when you stay in the fight and don’t back down. I’m talking about having the moral courage to say “this is what I am proposing and this is what we are going to do.” If it was me, I would say if you don’t like teaching Catholic children Catholic teachings, we will find teachers that will. That’s what I mean by “courage of conviction”. That’s giving it your best fight. We can’t compromise on this. We have been praying for him, Abecca.
Gary O thanks for clarifing. Amen to what you said. God bless you.
Winning the hearts and minds of homo-fascists was never the Abp’s goal regarding Catholic schools.
The goal is to stop all false advertising, and make Catholic schools “Catholic”. And have employees teach by example as well as by words.
Hypocrites, and Liars are those who do not support the Mission of the Catholic Church and should not be working in any “Catholic” Diocese, School or organization. They are hypocrites and liars because they personally have chosen to work for an organization that they disagree with.
Its time for them to go where they will be happier – anything non-Catholic.
And the rest of us will know that our Children will know the truth Faith.
It is heart-rending to read the “fire them all” comments posted above. I can only post the letter to the student protestors:
An open letter to students
from concerned parents
Decades before you were born, we, your parents, grew up in Catholic and other schools where no one was “out.” We heard the term “fag” thrown around classrooms and hallways with casual cruelty. There was overt bullying and brazen gossip based on perceived sexual orientation. There was occasional violence. There was loneliness and even despair among our peers who knew they were “different.” There were suicides as well as descent into slower forms of self-destruction. There was anger smoldering beneath the surface among those who knew they would never be accepted. Our teachers and school leaders? Silent or worse [complicit?].
You young students, our sons, and daughters, in Catholic Schools in the last decade have grown up with a new reality. You have peers “out of the closet,” and you see that their human dignity is not diminished by their sexual orientation, and you indeed celebrate your unity undergirding the differences. You also have peers whose families are led by gay or lesbian parents; you visit them, they welcome you into their homes, you see their full humanity flowering in their families. Some of you live in such families, newly protected by laws recognizing civil same-sex marriage. You may know a classmate who was conceived by in vitro fertilization. You do not see the circumstances of his or her conception as changing in any way the inheritance as a child of God. You include them in your circles without question. This is new, this is a blessed change.
There is no going back.
However, the language currently proposed by the Archbishop for your faculty’s handbook, in which active homosexuals, including those in marriages no matter how loving, are labeled “gravely evil”—that language is what is now repulsive to you. What a reversal! Stay faithful to your new perception—and thank the current generation of teachers who have helped inform your consciences and boldly inspired you to believe that human dignity is indivisible. Stand with them, and start by learning more about human beings from all the disciplines you study, and most especially from your study of the Gospel of love, from the God who liberates slaves and all those oppressed from the Spirit that stands with the truth of Church teaching based on the saving presence of God’s grace and mercy in our lives.
Beware that your resistance to this handbook language does not get lost in anger or in a judgmental grudge against the Archbishop. We believe in loving even our opponents. We also know that God is God and we are human and we make mistakes. Believe in conversion, the turning of hearts and minds. As the Gospels exhort us: Be the salt of the earth, the light unto the world. Search for the pearl of great price and cherish it. Continue to put your arms around those of your peers who are most vulnerable to those and all hateful words, bring them close, wrap them in layers of protection and reassurance. They need and deserve your loving embrace.[iv]
Fraternally,
Aaron Milavec
