The following is a July 17 Washington Post article by Jessica Heslam. The article refers to the eight-minute YouTube video released July 14 by The Center for Medical Progress, which contains undercover footage of Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, describing how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted fetuses, and admitting she uses partial-birth abortions to supply intact body parts.

As the president of Planned Parenthood took to YouTube to vehemently deny making money from the sale of aborted babies’ body parts, the anti-abortion group behind a stunning video exposing the alleged practice claims it has more proof.

“I want to be really clear. The allegation that Planned Parenthood profits in any way from tissue donation is not true,” the organization’s president, Cecile Richards, said in a video posted yesterday.

But anti-abortion crusader Troy Newman, a consultant on the three-year investigation by the Center for Medical Progress into the alleged fetal farming, said the group’s next video “is going to counteract that.”

“We let them dig a big hole for themselves, and now they’re going to have to jump in it,” said Newman, who added the self-proclaimed citizen journalist group that produced the undercover video has “more proof” that Planned Parenthood is profiting from the sale of body parts from abortions.

Newman, president of Operation Rescue, an extreme anti-abortion organization, wouldn’t offer any more details but said “our evidence will come forth and show that.” He said the next video would be released sometime between now and next Tuesday.

“This last one was gut-wrenching,” he said. “This will be shocking.”

Richards also apologized for the “tone” and statements made by one of its top doctors, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, who was secretly caught on the video last summer bluntly talking about baby body parts over lunch with operatives posing as officials at a startup biotech company.

The group released an eight-minute video — and a longer three-hour version — on Tuesday of Nucatola as she sips wine and eats salad while talking about how to best harvest “intact hearts,” lungs, livers and heads. She also explains how they are very careful not to crush body parts.

That demeanor did put Planned Parenthood on the defensive.

“Our top priority is the compassionate care that we provide,” Richards said. “In the video, one of our staff members speaks in a way that does not reflect that compassion. This is unacceptable, and I personally apologize for the staff member’s tone and statements.”

Newman claims Planned Parenthood is paid for the abortion and then profits a second time when they sell body parts to a third party, which he claims is on-site on procedure day, and that there are no transportation or shipping costs.

Newman said the next video will prove that “they’re only talking to us because they want more money.”
