The following appeared September 4 in the Oakland diocese newspaper, the Catholic Voice.
The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, sculpted in 1947 by Jose Thedim based on the description of Sister Lucia, one of the three young children who saw Our Lady each month from May to October 1917 in Fatima, Portugal, will visit various parishes in the Bay Area in September.
The statue will visit parishes in the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the dioceses of Oakland and San Jose.
A number of special Masses and talks by the statue’s custodians are planned as it makes its way around the Bay. Please check with each parish listed for specific events and times and for any schedule changes.
When it was made, on Oct. 13, 1947, the statue was blessed in the presence of some 150,000 pilgrims by the Bishop of Leiria at Fatima, Portugal to be the pilgrim, the traveler.
A Pilgrim Virgin Committee was formed to carry out the mandate set down by the bishop, and it continues to bring the message of Fatima to the world. The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue has traveled the world many times, visiting more than 100 countries, including Russia and the Peoples’ Republic of China.

Traveled with this beautiful Lady on a plane for 3 weeks. It is wonderful to see that she is visiting all these churches. The “New Evangelization” is underway, and the Year of Faith will be starting in October. Our Mother is continuing to call, maybe the last call, for all to find refuge under her mantle. Graces are abundant for those who reach out and want to change their lives and their hearts. May you be safe dear Queen.
It would not surprise me at all if the Statue cried during the visits to the New Sodom and Gomorahs!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
I’ll cry if that little bit of wishful superstition happens!
To those with no faith, all faith is superstition. So, McCrea, tell us what your personal superstitions are. List at least three of them.
To Mr. McCrea, There are 2 International Fatima statues. I do not know if both are in travel circulation at this time? Mr. Fisher mentioned the tears, because one or both of these statues has cried tears and I think it is well documented? I am sorry I do not have more information, my mind isn’t as sharp as it use to be about these events, but you may be able to find information on the net.
I do see their website noted in the article above. This will give some information on the crying statue. Thanks.
Abortion and abortafacants too!
Wonderful news, I always enjoy my visits to FATIMA greatly, this is where heaven touches the earth!! I love Our Lady of Fatima and her message!
TEM,
Who do you think you are fooling? Our Lady in virtually all of her apparitions has spoken strongly against all of the sins of the flesh. Guess what, that includes SODOMY!
May God have mercy of your compromised soul,
Kenneth M. Fisher
“Show Me You Are My Son!”
One day a sinner said to the Blessed Virgin, “Show me you are my mother.” And she answered, “And you, show me you are my son,”
And to another one who also called her, addressing her as “Mother of Mercy,” she said, “You sinners when you want my help, you call me the mother of Mercy, but you never stop turning me into a mother of misery and pain by your sins.”…..Saint Alphonsus de Liguori – The Glories of Mary
I didn’t see San Francisco on the list.
The statue will visit parishes in the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the dioceses of Oakland and San Jose.
and there you have it…
Please bring Our Lady to San Francisco!!!!
Also to England!.
I think that is the Statue that Blessed John Paul 2nd-when he was shot, and the bullet was placed it Our Lady’s Crown.
I was at Fatima( not the first time) when the Statue was on its way to Russia. Cardinal Ratzinger was representing Pope Paul as he was ill at the time.
A wonderful experience. It also made a lasting impression on my late husband who was then a non catholic.
The statue will visit parishes in the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the dioceses of Oakland and San Jose.
