The following comes from a post on the Truth and Love website:
Truth and Love Conference 2017:
January 9–11, 2017 at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Phoenix, Arizona
A conference offering sound, practical, and pastoral guidance on the topics of homosexuality and sexual identity addressed to clergy, religious, and those lay faithful working in ecclesial ministry, as well as medical and mental health professionals.
Invitation from Bishop Olmsted and Fr. Check
Conference Features:
• Testimonies of persons who experience same-sex attractions regarding how chaste friendships and the Church have helped them on their journey toward chastity and sanctity.
• Talks by experts on Christian anthropology, natural law, the psychology of homosexuality, Scripture, and chastity.
• Discussion on how pastors, family, and friends can best love those who experience same-sex attractions or confusion regarding sexual identity.
• Practical recommendations and tools for communicating the Church’s teaching on homosexuality and sexual identity to parishes, schools, and students as an integral part of the New Evangelization.
Why have such conferences in the first place? It is difficult to see what they bring to the job of attaining salvation. However, Bishop Olmstead is generally orhtodox, so he can be trusted.
One hopes, however, that there is only discussion about how to become and maintain a chaste position in life. Homosexual sex is never acceptable and this should also be made clear. Being “welcoming” and “respectful” cannot ever mean that homosexual sex is accepted. The point is to avoid sin and keep on doing so.
OMG – another conference for another niche group of Catholics. Those of us who are mainstream Catholics are yet again ignored in favor of a vocal minority who may or may not even be practicing Catholics. Thanks for the support!
c s lewis once commented that christians need to continually learn what they have already learned. in a culture of deforming values, the clarity and naturalness of the natural law and biblical teachings can fade. then of course, are those who come from younger generations that , for the most part, don’t sense the ‘naturalnesss’ of natural law and are not hearing true teaching in ccd or in homilies or diocesan papers.. it;s a blessing that such a conference is available because thousands of ‘conferences’ happen selling the dark side all over the US catholic world, on campuses and in parishes.
The Pathological nature of such agendas harms Soul, Body and Mind:
“Francis repeats use of vile words associated with sexual perversion in a public forum

On November 9, 2013, this reporter wrote an Open Letter to Pope Francis “On a Papal Commission of Inquiry into Homosexuality, Pederasty and La Lobby Gay in the Catholic Church” https://www.renewamerica.com/columns/engel/131110. A member of the pope’s Council of Eight brought the Open Letter to the attention of the pontiff, and a short time later the Vatican announced the creation of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors (and vulnerable adults).
At the end of my 2013 Open Letter to Pope Francis,…
Bishop Olmsted has always been a faithful, true, authentically-Catholic bishop! The “LGBT” Catholics are in desperate need, of a good, honest, faithful bishop like him, to safely guide them to Christ! And Courage is the right Catholic “LGBT” group, to help Catholic “LGBT’s!” We need more good, honest, faithful Catholic prelates, like Bishop Olmsted!
