The following comes from a July 22 CNS News article by Michael W. Chapman:

Because of her strong support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), a Catholic, will be presented with the 21st Annual International Role Model Award by the Equality Forum, next week in Philadelphia while the Democratic National Convention is underway.

“We are thrilled to present Leader Pelosi with this prestigious award for her long-standing support and her leadership in advancing LGBT civil rights,” said Malcolm Lazin, the founder and executive director of the Equality Forum.

The award ceremony will take place at the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia, during the convention, on July 28.

Equality Forum is a nonprofit group that “coordinates LGBT History Month, produces documentary films, undertakes high-impact initiatives and presents the largest annual national and international LGBT civil rights summit,” according to its website.
