Bishop Armando Ochoa has announced that KNXT TV 49 and CatholicTV Network will be partnering in providing Catholic programming here in the San Joaquin Valley. KNXT Channel 49 has, for the past 30 years, been the only broadcast full power television station owned by a Catholic diocese in this country.

CatholicTV operates under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston as a broadband cable station available across the U.S. Bishop Ochoa pointed out that the partnership offered “new possibilities that could allow us to retain our broadcast license, decrease our expenses, increase our financial support, upgrade the quality of our technology and develop the content of our programs to more effectively support our primary mission of evangelization.”

Changes in programming will begin immediately leading to a re-launch of the station during the first week of October.
