The following comes from a YouTube video of speeches in favor of the 20-week ban on abortions.
This was just before the House of Representatives voted in favor of the measure along party lines, with all but four Republicans in favor and all but four Democrats opposed.
Madam Speaker, I arise today in support of HR 36, the Pain Capable Child Protection Act. This bill will protect women and children by establishing federal legal protections from unborn babies of 20 weeks. Substantial evidence has shown that children of 20 weeks – or the fifth month of pregnancy – have the capacity to feel pain, and due to modern medicine, are increasingly likely to survive a premature birth.
Furthermore, this bill protects the health of mothers when they are at their most vulnerable state. At 20 weeks a woman is 35 times more likely to die from abortion than she would in the first trimester. After 21 weeks, that risk of death for the mother increases almost 100-fold. It is fitting that this bill comes before the House floor on National Women’s Health Week. A week-long observance led by the U.S. Department of Health encouraging women to prioritize their health.
I’m pleased to stand in support of this piece of women’s health legislation today. This bill will empower women in their health care decisions and protect the lives of the innocent unborn.
More than 20 House members testified in favor of the bill. The most You Tube views (over 8000) were gained by Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI)’s passionate statement.
Most DEMOCRATS and a few REPUBLICANS are so callus and so EVIL
that they do not even care about the TORTURE and Murder of INNOCENT Human Beings through abortion.
Human Development with videos should be taught in each High School in the USA.
There is no excuse for torture, murder or even ignorance.
Who are the four baby killer Republicans that voted against this bill?
It’s time to wake up and face reality; the 1973 U. S. Supreme Court Roe/Doe decisions declared war on pre-born human life! We should be outraged. Why isn’t the Court making amends for their incoherent decisions that has thrown America backwards in time into another Civil War–Americans are killing Americans! I hope Rep. Walters stimulates a prolife revival in Orange County County; more than four decades of slaughtering our own children proves that the statis quo is not working! Writers for LIfe at prolifedigest.com
Roe v. Wade is, in substantial part, not really different in its intellectual and factual error, than the Supreme Court decision in Dred Scott v. Sandford, 60 U.S. 393 (1857) (rejecting demand by a slave that he be freed, when his owner relocated to a non-slave state). Recall that Chief Justice Roger Taney was considered highly competent at the time (and he was a Catholic).
American courts are generally corrupt, particularly on “social issues”. Judges/Justices simply follow their political persuasion when deciding cases. Just look at Justice Ginsburg officiating at a homosexual marriage while the case on this issue is before the Court. You will never see Sotomayor, Ginsburg, Breyer, and Kagan taking anything but a Liberals Democratic view on anything dealing with abortion, homosexuality, and the like. The notion of “intellectual integrity” is completely missing there.
