Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of the Archdiocese of San Francisco announces the appointment of Rev. Daniel B. Donohoo as President-Rector of St. Patrick Seminary & University, and Rev. Anthony Stoeppel as its Vice-Rector. Both appointments are for five-year terms and effective August 15, 2019.
These appointments became necessary upon the untimely passing of Most Reverend Robert F. Christian, O.P., in July. Bishop Christian was President-Rector of the Seminary from January 14, 2019 until his death.

If the new vice-rector is anything like the good bishop, priests and people of Diocese of Tyler that we’ve met, this is a great blessing for the seminary. Bishop Strickland, one of the best bishops in the country, would not have made Fr. Stoeppel his vicar-general unless he were a fine priest. See the link below for something from Fr. Stoeppel himself. Thanks be to God! Saint Patrick’s continues to become an even better seminary. Thank you, Archbishop!
