Attending an Archdiocese for Military Services Vocation Discernment Retreat will help you understand better a calling to the priesthood and Military chaplaincy. Military chaplains, seminarians and faculty will conduct an all-inclusive 4-day retreat beginning on a Thursday and concluding after Sunday morning Mass. The Discernment Retreat will help you to explore and learn about a priest’s life dedicated to the service of God and Country.
This is your opportunity to learn more about the Catholic priesthood and the military chaplaincy, to ask questions, and to discern your vocation while participating in an AMS retreat. You will also meet priest-chaplains, chaplain candidates and other men like yourself discerning God’s call to the priesthood.

“We are distracted by many things, by other more superficial voices … We are afraid to listen to the voice of the Lord because we believe it can detract from our freedom. The truth is that each of us is the fruit of love … the love of God. When we become aware of this our lives change; they become a response to that love which is greater than any other, and thus our freedom is fully realized.”

From the Archdiocese for Military Services

Please pray that many young men will attend. They don’t have to have discerned their vocations already. This is a discernment retreat. The Archdiocese for Military Services does great work. You may want to consider supporting them (especially as they’re unlike any other geographical diocese). And, they are largely GenZers and Millenials, reaching young adults like no other diocese. The military, as well as Fire and Police services, are disproportionately Catholic. Yet, chaplains for such services are disproportionately low. As the AMS notes, “While some 25% in the military are Catholic, only 8% of military chaplains are Catholic priests.” Please pray for more Catholic chaplains for all services. Saints Michael, George and Florian, pray for those in the service of our nation.
Amen. I also said the Prayer for Those in the Military Service, and also asked Blessed Fulton Sheen’s intercession for more good Catholic chaplains.
I sent in a correction before, but for some reason it did not get posted. Venerable Archbishop Sheen is not a “Blessed” yet as he has not been canonized yet. We can pray for him and to him his if he is already in heaven only privately.
