Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish traces its roots back to 1858; the current church was built in 1929. It was dedicated to Our Lady Queen of Peace as a memorial to those who died in World War I. In 2003, the pastor of the parish at the time was given a statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague. When he returned, the diocesan bishop designated the parish as a shrine dedicated to the Infant.
