Several people stopped by a statue of Father Junipero Serra in a park across from Mission San Fernando on Thursday after a photo made the rounds on social media appearing to show the statue had been vandalized.
A picture circulating Facebook showed the statue spray-painted red and the word “murder” written on Serra in white.
While city officials would not confirm the authenticity of the photo or the clean-up, CBS2 reporter Crystal Cruz saw red paint on Serra’s arm and a swastika on the statue of the child standing next to him.
The photo comes at a time when many are calling for the removal of controversial statues. Some argue Serra is not the saint the Catholic Church paints him out to be. Instead, they claim he used California Indians and destroyed part of their culture.
A man who frequents the park told CBS2 he suspects teenagers tagged the statue.

Brought to you by the “tolerant” Left.
Epic.
The statue of Father Serra, who was nothing but a model of concern for the Native American people, smeared with the words “Murder.”
The bitter poison of Charlottesville spreads throughout the nation.
People are now slowly beginning to awaken:
They thought this was all about removing a statue of Robert E. Lee in a park in a distant southern city.
Actually it’s about removing statues of Washington, and Jefferson, and Jackson, and Junipero Serra, and anyone else—so that we can obliterate an entire tradition and history—anyone that might have a blemish on their history—and replace it with Dear Leader’s Axioms.
And it wont stop there, fools.
All this unrest is the result of the constant unwarranted bashing of the president by the democrats and press
Here in San Diego this past week, our RINO mayor, Kevin Faulconer, bent over in response to Democrat whines and removed a small, innocuous, decades-old plaque commemorating the Jefferson Davis Highway from downtown’s Horton Plaza. With Republicans like Faulconer, who needs Dems?

It’s a good development. It’s time for these monuments to be removed from public places. They can be placed in private museums. Those wishing to pay homage to the Confederate Army are free to visit those private collections.
Let’s take this to its logical outcome: “It’s a good development”, lets see these racist artifacts “removed from public places”. What of the party that supported the KKK?
The Democrat party has been the home field of the KKK since the its apex in the 1920’s. Nathan Bedford Forrest, KKK founder, was a Democrat—he was a Dem city official in pre-war Memphis. Sen. Robert Byrd (who served the DemoKKKrats until his death in 2010) was a “Grand Exalted Cyclops” in the KKK. Sen. J. William Fulbright, mentor of Bill Clinton—was KKK member. Didn’t affect their careers, did it? The 1924 Democrat convention was called the “Klanbake”, so many DemoKKKrats attended:

Time to disband the Dem party? Or at least to tell the true racist history?
